My sister, whom I met on Instagram, is planning a trip to Chiang Mai and expressed interest in visiting the cafes I frequent. While I have visited several cafes, each offering a unique experience, describing them in detail on Instagram would be cumbersome for both me and my sister. Therefore, I have decided to share my thoughts on these cafes through this Pantip thread.
While I cannot claim to provide a comprehensive review of the coffee shops I visited, due to limitations in the number of photos I could capture and the lack of detailed descriptions, I will do my best to convey my experience through words. If you find this information insufficient, I apologize and welcome any feedback you may have.

The review may focus more on the atmosphere of the shop than on the coffee itself. I can distinguish the differences in coffee, but I'm not very good at describing them. Also, in many shops, I order iced coffee.
There is another reviewer joining us, Marilyn Mumrol (no relation to Marilyn Monroe). She would like to preface her review by stating that…
"Let me tell you, every shop I visited, I drank a Caffè Latte."
As you can see, dear viewers, I brought her along for this review because I don't drink hot coffee with milk. For hot drinks, I only drink espresso and Americano. But I enjoy making latte art, so I dragged her along to explore cafes with me. Let's get started.
Note: To the people of Tha Sae, Chiang Mai, the fog is down. The fog-filled photos are okay, I'll admit it first, haha.
SS1254372 Cafe
The first shop is easy to find, located on Nimmanhaemin Soi 17.

This cafe boasts a unique and charming identity, evident in both its logo and the interior atmosphere. However, the most popular spot is undoubtedly the round window corner at the front of the shop.
With its unique charm, this is a popular spot that attracts a steady stream of visitors. Be aware that if you go in the evening, you might miss out on the coffee, as I almost did on my first visit.
The iced espresso I ordered was okay in terms of taste.
Marilyn ordered a hot latte. She said it was OK.
Malireen's opinion: What kind of shop is this? Each customer is a hipster. When I went there, I was so low class (I mean myself). The coffee is okay.
Cottontree Coffee & Cafe'
The restaurant is a bit difficult to find, located on the side of the Seven Peaks, in the alley behind the Maya Department Store. Enter the small alley behind it. Because the restaurant is located deep in the alley, the atmosphere is not chaotic, and the restaurant is open and comfortable. The decoration is beautiful.
The cafe is rumored to make beautiful latte art, but without Marilyn there, I opted for a hot Americano instead.
The taste is good, slightly bitter, with a more sour flavor.
And Scone is delicious. I think it's a very comfortable shop, not stuffy at all.
Based on my observations, the clientele seems to be predominantly foreign, with few Thai customers present.

Khagee.
A small shop just past the Nawarat Bridge. This renowned establishment requires no further introduction.
The coffee tastes good, and the pastries are delicious.
My favorite thing about this shop is the Scone. It's delicious, and even after I bought it home and warmed it up, it was still just as good.
And the lovely shop layout, to the point that some coffee shops have secretly followed suit.
The owner is very friendly and provides excellent customer service. I was very impressed.

Finding the place is a bit tricky (again). The entrance to the alley is a bit confusing. I'm not sure if I'm lost or not. Another beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere.
The traffic is light, making it a pleasant place to sit.
When I went there, I didn't order coffee. I had already had coffee at another shop before, and it was late, so I ordered apple tea instead. It was delicious.
The sandwiches are delicious, but the highlight of the restaurant is the macarons. They are not overly sweet, so you won't feel cloyed after eating them. Plus, they are only 20 baht each.

Coffee Beans
Located by the canal on the way to Hang Dong. It's not difficult to find, but don't drive too fast. If you miss it, it's hard to turn around.
This coffee shop serves strong, well-balanced coffee that is sure to please. Even Marilyn, who is known for her critical reviews of other coffee shops, enjoys it.
Malireen's review: The signature drink is amazing! The coffee liquor is incredible. 10/10. The latte is strong and delicious.
The atmosphere is great. The storefront is beautiful, and the interior is also lovely.
Omnia Cafe & Roastery
Tucked away in the Jedyod neighborhood, this small cafe boasts extraordinary coffee that is a must-try for coffee enthusiasts.
I noticed that you made beautiful latte art again, but I didn't order it.
I ordered a Short Black and it was delicious. The coffee was aromatic and very sour. If you enjoy sour coffee, I highly recommend this shop and this particular menu item.
The staff at the shop were lovely and friendly. It's another shop that left a good impression on me.
Romano Coffee
Still in the vicinity of Jedyod, with the cutest coffee shop that caught my eye with the fragrant maple tree in front.
In the city center of Chiang Mai, this is the only cafe I know of that offers a view of maple trees while you sip your coffee.
The service is second to none, and the coffee is just as strong. Plus, there are always great deals on drinks to keep you coming back for more.
In addition to beverages, there are also sandwiches and breakfast sets available for those who are unsure of where to eat in the morning.
Malirene's review: Beautiful shop, my go-to place. They have discount promotions. Strong coffee. I give it a 10 out of 10.

The Barn: Eatery Design
This establishment enjoys considerable popularity, renowned for its exceptional coffee, inviting ambiance, and abundance of photogenic corners.
Marilyn did not comment on the hot coffee incident.
Bistro
Phone: 081 564 6771
Business hours: Today open · 8:00–22:00
The cafe has a stylish ambiance. The coffee is good, strong and flavorful. The food is delicious and there is a wide variety of menu options available.
There are many more delicious dishes than the ones I have posted here. I would like to go back and eat there again, but I haven't had the chance yet. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Double Ristr8to " Latte Art Cafe "
For coffee lovers, especially latte art enthusiasts, missing this shop would be a huge mistake. This is the ultimate coffee experience, and I highly recommend it.
Malireen's comment: "Oh my, please don't say that! It's my favorite shop. The coffee is so delicious. The richness of the coffee from blending foreign beans with Thai beans is perfect. The price is reasonable, and the taste is even better than Starbucks. The atmosphere is chill and perfect for socializing. I give it 11 out of 10. It's my favorite shop in Chiang Mai. The shopkeeper is cute."
Cafe'fin
From Nimmanhaemin, back to Jedyod once again with Opium Coffee.
This restaurant is easy to find, located right on the main road. I personally enjoy the atmosphere here. The interior offers one ambiance, while the back area provides a different vibe. There are also plenty of photogenic corners to explore.
I think the coffee is decent, especially the well-balanced iced espresso. The Espresso Shake is also good, but it's a bit too sweet for my taste.
Malireen's opinion: The atmosphere is good for working, but the coffee is just average.
Librarista Coffee
A unique coffee shop in the Nimmanha area that doubles as a library, perfect for quiet work sessions. Be warned, though, it's so peaceful you might just fall asleep.
However, whenever mainlanders come, everyone is on their own. The coffee and pastries are delicious, and I've been there several times myself.
Malireen's review: The taste is okay, smooth, with a light coffee flavor and a pleasant aroma. The atmosphere is good. I would give it an 8 out of 10.
Admire the birds and the trees.
To conclude, this restaurant is a must-visit in Mae Kampong. It boasts stunning views and has received numerous positive reviews.
The iced coffee I ordered was quite delicious and well-balanced. As for the hot menu, let Marilyn give her opinion.
Malireen's review: Traveled a long way from 7 Yod to Mae Kampong. The coffee is delicious, the view is beautiful. 8 out of 10.
Thank you very much. I apologize for the incomplete review. I have lost many photos, including those of Graph Cafe, which serves delicious and strong coffee that both Marilyn and I enjoyed. However, there are many other reviews available online.
You're welcome.
