This travelogue recounts a journey undertaken in late May, coinciding with the arrival of the rainy season and the verdant revival of the mountains. Despite the brevity of the trip, spanning only two days and one night, it proved to be a delightful experience.

Khao Kho in the rainy season with the magnificent sea of mist surrounding Wat Phra That Pha Sorn Kaew, a natural wonder. And the vibrant purple Verbena flowers blooming at the wind turbine field, a sight to behold only once a year.

Uncle Tom's Cabin at Khaokho is a charming farmstay resort featuring six earthen houses, one caravan, and two boutique tents. Nestled in a tranquil and secluded setting, the resort offers a comfortable and unpretentious experience.

Our journey began at midnight from our home in Chachoengsao, covering a distance of approximately 400 kilometers to reach Khao Kho by morning. The anticipation of the early morning atmosphere at Khao Kho filled us with excitement from the outset.

Our first stop before checking into our accommodation was the wind turbine field, located in the Phet Dam village area, Khao Kho, Phetchabun province. The field was adorned with the stunning purple blooms of Verbena flowers.

To reach the wind turbine field, take main road 2196. If coming from Camp Son, pass Tung Samo intersection and continue for 3 km. Look for the sign for Phet Dam village and the wind turbine field. Turn right and drive for approximately 10 km to reach the destination. The road is paved and easily accessible throughout the journey.

Upon arrival at the wind turbine field, there is a 20 baht parking fee. A tram service is available at the entrance for 60 baht per person. The tram will take you to various viewpoints within the field, taking approximately one hour. Alternatively, visitors can enjoy the atmosphere of the Verbena flowers in front of the entrance without taking the tram.

This afternoon, we arrived at Uncle Tom's Cabin at Khaokho, a small cabin owned by Uncle Tom. This campervan will be our accommodation for the night.

To reach Uncle Tom's Cabin at Khaokho, from Petchabun city, turn left at Nang Ua intersection and follow Highway 2302 until you reach Ruenrudee intersection. Turn right onto Highway 2196 and continue straight until you reach the Tung Samo intersection. Turn right at this intersection, and you will see signs guiding you to the destination.

Upon entering the RV, I was impressed by the efficient use of space. Every nook and cranny was thoughtfully designed, maximizing functionality without feeling cramped.

The bed was comfortable and spacious, with air conditioning. Most importantly, I loved the sunroof, which allowed me to stargaze at night.

Although it appears to be a campervan, it actually has a built-in bathroom and shower.

From the back of our RV, we could still see the wind turbine field we visited this morning.

For those who enjoy tent camping, Uncle Tom's Cabin at Khaokho offers air-conditioned tents.

Uncle Tom's Cabin at Khaokho: Earthen Houses Nestled in Nature

Uncle Tom's Cabin at Khaokho boasts six unique earthen houses, seamlessly integrated into the surrounding natural landscape. The design of these houses is both stylish and functional, creating a harmonious blend of comfort and environmental consciousness.

As the evening descends, it's the perfect time to stroll through the resort and soak in the ambiance. There are numerous charming corners that offer picturesque opportunities for capturing memories.

At Uncle Tom's Cabin in Khaokho, there is a greenhouse where they grow organic vegetables for sale to the general public, as well as for distribution to Bangkok.

This corner features cherry tomatoes in beautiful colors, ready to be picked and eaten fresh. The taste is sweet and crunchy, very delicious.

Another highlight of Uncle Tom's Cabin at Khaokho, Uncle Tom's Cabin, is the cultivation of Japanese melons in greenhouses, which are 100% safe and do not use chemical pesticides. There are two varieties available: JP Orange, which has a green skin and orange flesh, and Moon Korea, which has a yellow skin and white flesh. Both varieties are very sweet and can be enjoyed fresh from the farm and greenhouses. You can also buy them to take home.

As evening descended and the time for dinner approached, we took a moment to capture the ambiance of the lobby before indulging in our meal. The atmosphere, illuminated by the soft glow of evening lights, was truly captivating.

The dining area exudes a subtle Italian ambiance and is very inviting.

My menu for today: Neapolitan pizza (pizza with anchovies)

Mussel Spaghetti

The night was drizzling, sleeping in the campervan made it warm and comfortable. Waking up in the morning, I rushed to Wat Phra That Pha Sorn Kaew, thinking that there must be fog, and I was not disappointed.

The wonders of nature leave one in a state of awe, their beauty truly captivating.

This morning, we stopped by Uncle Tom's Pizzeria for lunch. Uncle Tom's Pizzeria is owned by the same people as the resort where we are staying and is located nearby.

The restaurant and location are situated behind the Phra That Pha Son Kaew temple, offering a truly remarkable atmosphere.

Uncle Tom's Pizzeria, located at Pha Sorn Kaew, offers a wide variety of pizzas.

The sign in the restaurant read "Ancient Phetchaburi Pad Thai, the best crab and shrimp Pad Thai, guaranteed fresh and delicious in every dish." I decided to try it, and I was not disappointed.

It pairs well with passion fruit juice, which is very delicious.

In conclusion, I would like to express my gratitude to all who have followed this travelogue to the end. Until next time, farewell.
