I am on weekday 01.
Every time we plan a trip, our goal is "few people, chill, nature". The answer we got is Phitsanulok, Phrae, Nan. This time we challenge ourselves, we will go on weekdays and drag it to the holidays. We will go during Songkran, will it be chill?
Embark on a journey in the early morning of April 11th.
Today, we will stop by Phitsanulok to relax before continuing our journey.
Driving from Bangkok, we will make various stops along the way.
We will pay respects at Phra Buddha Chinnarat Temple.
Refuel with delicious "kway teow" noodles while dangling our feet.
Indulge in sticky rice with mango for a sweet treat.
Blissful! ^ ^
Check-in
Tonight, we're staying at The Factory Hostel. It's a budget-friendly option with parking available in the lot across the street. Breakfast is included, and we're on the 4th floor tonight. The room costs 890 baht per night. The ground floor of the building also houses a cafe.
Strolling
This evening, we stopped by the walking street.
The province was holding a food festival.
But we ended up at the "Universal Trading" porridge shop.
The name sounds like an electronics store.
But the porridge is surprisingly delicious.
Not far from Universal Trade
After a light breakfast of congee, cleanse your palate with
"Thapthim Krob 3 Num"
It's so good, the shop is located at the mouth of a small alley
Many tables, long queue, delicious, fragrant, refreshing
Tomorrow we will go to Phrae.

Phrae
The road to Phrae is quite steep.
I opened Google Maps to find the nearest coffee shop.
I found this shop, but there are very few reviews.
Let's give it a try!
Hidden gem in the forest, Himmon exceeded expectations.
A hidden gem in the forest, Himmon exceeded expectations.
This drip coffee shop is nestled in the middle of the woods, just around the bend.
Keep an eye out for the sign, or you might miss it!
The small shop is tucked away amidst the trees and grass, making it the perfect spot to relax and stretch your legs.
After a three-hour drive from Phitsanulok,
we arrived at "Phra That Cho Hae".
We stopped to pay our respects and receive blessings.
Check-in
Tonight I'm staying at Mee BedandBreakfast.
The accommodation is very affordable, and I'm saving a lot on this trip.
The place is so cute, with beautiful colors that are perfect for taking pictures.
In the evening, there are stalls selling noodles, mala skewers, grilled pork, and papaya salad next to the hotel.
Unfortunately, they were closed when we went, so we missed out on trying them.
Don't forget to bring your own clothes when you come here, there are all kinds of clothes available.
Ban Tung Hong all along the way, the style is similar.
Prices range from over 100 baht to over 300 baht.
When you arrive, buy it right away, the color will fade all over your body.
Pan Jai Restaurant: A Taste of Northern Thai Cuisine
Pan Jai Restaurant offers a unique dining experience in the heart of Phrae, Thailand. Located opposite Wat Phra Bat Ming Mueang, the restaurant serves authentic northern Thai dishes, including the famous Khao Soi Nam Ngiao, a clear noodle soup similar to Vietnamese Bun Bo Hue.
The open-air restaurant boasts a peculiar ordering system. Customers first purchase coupons and then choose their desired dishes from various stations offering a variety of options, including grilled pork skewers, grilled chicken, Som Tam (papaya salad), and sweet treats.
While the food is pre-made and displayed for selection, the taste can be somewhat bland due to the extended holding time. However, the restaurant's unique atmosphere and the opportunity to sample a diverse range of northern Thai cuisine make it a worthwhile experience.
In the late afternoon, I dragged my feet from the hotel to a coffee shop.
I drank more coffee than rice on this trip.
CHARLOTTE HUT
Charlotte Hut
Who would have known that Phrae has such a cute cafe?
It's located in a car repair shop, not on a main road.
If you come here to take pictures, you've made the right decision.
The shop is very cute and crowded!
This evening, we will go find something to eat near the Victory Monument.
The walls of Phrae City are another spot to take an evening stroll. You can't find this kind of feeling in Bangkok.
It's slow, leisurely, no rushing, no honking, no chaos.
It's crowded, yet peaceful.
Tonight, I'll sleep soundly.
Tomorrow morning, we'll head to Nan for a full 3 days and 2 nights.
Plus, breakfast is included at the Mee Hotel.
For just a few hundred baht, you can enjoy a lovely breakfast.
Stay tuned for my Nan review next time. It's fantastic, beautiful, and incredibly relaxing.
