Tricking friends to open the map at the Koo B cliff
As the year draws to a close, many people enjoy hiking and climbing mountains. However, finding a companion for such activities can be challenging. In this case, the speaker's attempt to invite their sister was met with resistance, as she had a negative experience on Mount Phu Kradueng in the past.
This time, I decided to post on my personal Facebook page to find friends to join the trip. 555 And then, there were victims who fell into the trap of wild boars like us. 55555 But we warned them what it would be like. There are no amenities at all. My friend said, "Yeah, I know. It's hiking." In the end, there were 8 people in the group. I secretly wondered if my friends would stop being friends with me after we got down from the mountain. 555

A lot, right? 5555
Let me share a bit about the food.
For breakfast before the trip and lunch during the walk, we ordered from Uncle Charlie.
For dinner, we had instant noodles with sausage and canned fish (very satisfying and delicious).
Breakfast consisted of bread, sausage, coffee, tea, tomato sauce, and condensed milk.
With 8 people, it's natural that food is important. 55555 We went all out and finished everything, feeling perfectly satisfied.
Let me share the expenses with you.
- Entrance fee to Khao Koo B: 200 baht per person
- Porter fee: 1000 baht/20 kg/porter (divided by 8 = 125 baht)
- Food expenses: approximately 300 baht per person
- Fuel costs: 400 baht (with some left over)
Total: 1025 baht
Traveling to Thung Pleo Forest Protection Unit
November 17, 2017
We chose to travel by car. The journey was very easy. Just open Google Maps and search for "Tung Pua Wildlife Sanctuary" (click on the link provided). We wanted to experience the feeling of being in the forest, so we decided to stay overnight at the sanctuary. If you go at night like we did, the entrance will give you a sense of mystery and fear. We didn't take any pictures to show you, but it was really scary.
November 18, 2017
Early in the morning, we woke up and waited for Uncle Charlie to guide us. Other teams gradually arrived, and at a rough glance, there were about 70-80 people. It may not seem like a lot, but it was a significant number considering the small size of the area above.
As 9:00 am approached, Uncle Charlie joined us. We assigned one porter to carry the communal supplies, including food, tents, and tarpaulins. After distributing the items to the porter, we prepared to set off. At 9:00 am, we began our trek. This group photo is the only one we took during the entire trip. We don't know why we didn't take more photos. It wasn't because we were camera-shy, but because we were so exhausted that we completely forgot about taking a group photo.
Skipping breakfast before hiking can be fatal.
The title is quite scary, isn't it? 5555 But this is a true story. I almost died while climbing Khao Soi Dao because I didn't eat breakfast before starting the hike. As experienced hikers know, it's crucial to eat a full meal and get enough sleep before embarking on such a challenging climb. 5555 I managed to do both wrong: I arrived at the park unit after 2 am and didn't eat breakfast.
As we started walking, we smiled brightly at each other. We began with an easy, relaxed pace on a smooth path, allowing for high-speed walking. We thought to ourselves, "This is easy! They said it would be tough, but it's not tough at all!"
From this waterfall onwards, we will truly enter the realm of extreme difficulty.
The harsh conditions have taken their toll on me. I haven't eaten breakfast, and I haven't slept well. The combination of these factors has left me feeling extremely exhausted. My heart is pounding so hard that it feels like it's going to jump out of my chest. I've never felt my heart beat so fast before. My skin, which was once dark and tanned, has become very pale. I can't walk more than a few steps without having to stop and rest. I feel like I could fall asleep at any moment. I'm so tired that I just want to lie down and sleep right here. But I have a dream of sleeping under the cliff, so I have to keep going. Luckily, my friend didn't abandon me along the way. I have to give all the credit to my friend. These photos were also taken by my friend. I didn't have the energy to take any photos myself. My only goal was to survive and make it to the cliff. 5555555
Unexpectedly, good fortune smiled upon us. The first stroke of luck was that a friend had brought bread, which they shared with me. After eating a few bites, I felt my condition improve, and the paleness I had experienced earlier began to fade. The second stroke of luck was that I had brought electrolyte powder with me, which I mixed with water and drank. This significantly improved my energy levels.
The steepness of the climb was truly unparalleled. It seemed to ascend endlessly, with no end in sight. The incline continued relentlessly all the way to the summit. The sheer magnitude of the slope defies description, even through pictures. (The image below is also from a friend, haha.) In some sections, there were ropes to assist with the climb. However, in other areas where there were only thin ropes, these served as boundaries to guide our path.
If you need detailed information about the Check Point, please refer to other reviews. We are too tired to provide a comprehensive description. We can only tell you that there is a waterfall, hexagonal rocks, a bamboo forest, and a cave. As we mentioned before, our main goal was to survive until we reached the cliff face. Here is a brief overview:
Hexagonal stone (My friend, the friend who has been taking care of me all along. If it weren't for her, I would have died at Khao Soi Dao Tai.)
Cave (My symptoms are starting to improve now after receiving two doses of the vaccine. 555)
The highlight is not the cave itself, but rather the exit from the cave. It's the starting point of the adventure. I encourage you to experience it for yourself. If you reach the cave, just keep walking a little further and you'll arrive at the cliff face.
She has arrived. She has arrived. According to the rules here, it is not the case that whoever calls first gets to sleep on the cliff face, but rather whoever arrives first gets to sleep on the cliff face first.
Given our circumstances, it was unlikely that we would arrive first. Therefore, our friend volunteered to go ahead, which allowed our team to sleep on the cliff face. Upon reaching the top, we found our friend waiting for us at the cliff edge. They were amazing! We were overjoyed, experiencing a double wave of joy. The first wave was relief at having survived, and the second was the excitement of sleeping on the cliff face that night. It was a dream come true, and we were on the verge of tears at that moment.
After showering, we began our climbing activities. We started by taking pictures at the cliff where we had slept.
The path continues upwards, leading to the top of the structure where we were sleeping. We intended to watch the sunset from there, but unfortunately, we didn't make it in time. The sun had already set. T^T It was a bit of a disappointment. The path utilizes principles of physics to assist with the climb. 5555
The climb to Khao Hin Kub involves traversing a precarious path, relying on a single, slender wooden pole and seemingly dead trees for support. The thrill and excitement of this experience are undeniable. Park rangers will be present to assist you, so don't hesitate to hold onto their hands for safety, even if it means grabbing the hand of a handsome young man (wink wink). (Please note that the image used here is borrowed from a friend, as I was too preoccupied with navigating the treacherous path to capture my own.)
The image is a photograph of a group of people standing in front of a building. The people are smiling and waving. The building is a large, white building with a red roof. There is a sign above the door that says "Welcome." The photograph is taken from a distance, so it is difficult to see the details of the people or the building. However, it is clear that the people are happy to be there and that the building is a place of welcome.
After crossing, there will be a sharp ridge. Let's walk. It's very exciting. If you are afraid of heights, please do not come. Then come and find a beautiful angle to take pictures.
After that, we went back to the cliff where we were going to sleep. I slept like a log and didn't even realize I was squirming so much that I was about to fall off the cliff. My friend woke me up and told me to move up. (I almost died at Khao Soi Dao again.)
Morning has arrived. Let's go see the sea of mist.
It's incredible to find a sea of fog so close to Bangkok. I'm thrilled to have discovered this hidden gem without having to travel all the way to the north.
November 19, 2017
It was a very strange morning for us. We just sat up and opened our eyes, and we saw a sea of fog. I don't know how to describe it, but I was so happy. (The song "It's Really You" by Asanee-Wasan came to mind, haha.) It was so amazing. We sat there for several minutes and woke up our friends to see the sea of fog.
The uncle said that this is not a lot of fog yet. If it is a lot, you have to come to the point where we sleep... Oh wow, if it could be like that, it would be even cooler. If anyone has seen a lot of fog and woke up to find it at their feet, don't forget to share it with us.
If I could get in better shape, I think I would go again. I'm thinking of going when there's a lot of sea fog, so it would be even more enjoyable. ^^
After washing my face and brushing my teeth, I'd like to take a cool photo. ^^
Let's have breakfast together. It's not really breakfast because there's no rice in the meal. The breakfast menu consists of bread, sausages, tomato sauce, and coffee. We eat while surrounded by a sea of mist with a million-dollar view. Oh wow, it's so amazing! It's even better than eating at a fancy restaurant.
After a satisfying breakfast, we decided to head towards Khao Mi. You might be wondering, "Where is Khao Mi?" Well, it wasn't far! From the cliff where we spent the night, we could already see Khao Mi. However, reaching it was no easy feat. We had to climb vines and ropes, making the ascent much more challenging than reaching the top of Hin Koo B.
Unfortunately, I don't have any photos of the path to Khao Mi. If anyone has photos, please share them! ^^
The view from above is simply breathtaking. Even though the sea of mist has begun to dissipate, the scenery remains stunning.
Not yet, it's not enough. We started to have fun climbing the vines, so we decided to go and collect some beautiful angles from the top before going home. Let's go all the way to the jumping point. Crazy, haha.
Finally, I would like to thank my friends who were tricked into climbing the mountain with me. Even though they may not want to climb mountains with me again after coming down, they can still meet me on flat ground. 5555 And thank you to my friends who walked ahead of us, allowing our team to sleep comfortably on the cliff face under a huge rock. Last but not least, thank you for being my friends. ^^
"See you on the next trip! I guarantee the views will be worth a million."
