What's in Bang Sare? This is a question that many people are familiar with. If you come to Chonburi, you must go to Pattaya, whether it's the south or the north. Or go to Jomtien Beach, Nong Mon. Many people may be wondering because the name sounds unfamiliar. Plus, the sea is not more beautiful than other places.

The name "Bang Sare" was once associated with TV shows about the supernatural and haunted houses over 100 years old. I was determined to find it, but to no avail. Instead of a haunted house, I stumbled upon a hidden gem in Bang Sare. This resort, Sunset Park Resort and Spa, has been around for over 15 years. It's a Balinese-style beachfront accommodation in Bang Sare, catering to a more high-end clientele. The prices are relatively high, which might appeal to foreigners. There are various room types, styles, and prices. Fortunately, we visited during the low season, so they offered discounts. Prices ranged from 2,000++ to 8,000++ per night, depending on the location, proximity to the sea, size of the accommodation, and level of luxury. However, I recommend not spending too much. We opted for room number 501, a cottage that wasn't directly on the beachfront. But by chance, this house was situated in a prime location, right by the sea access point, offering unobstructed ocean views. The price was reasonable at 3,000++. It was just a 10-step walk to the sea. The bathroom and bedroom were spacious and comfortable, with a Balinese style. The resort was kind enough to allow us to check in immediately if the room was available and offered late check-out until 2 pm with prior notice. Additionally, the resort is close to the Cartoon Network Amazone water park, perfect for families with children.

The resort boasts a natural forest atmosphere with a stream flowing down from the mountains to the sea, offering both beach and rainforest vibes. There are various room types to choose from, including those near the stream, pool, and sea. The resort also features two large swimming pools by the sea. The breakfast is excellent and luxurious. During regular season, it is a buffet, while during low season, guests can order from a menu with a wide variety of options, including American breakfast, rice porridge, fried rice, pancakes, and bread.

The atmosphere in the evening is cool, the water starts to rise. I must say that the location of this resort is excellent. It is very natural, peaceful, and a great place to relax. The swimming pool is also very close to the sea view.

The evening atmosphere allows for a leisurely stroll along the beach, where you can witness the breathtaking sunset. The romantic and serene ambiance is truly indescribable, captivating the heart with its beauty. The experience is well worth the cost.

The price of seafood near the pier or harbor is no longer cheap. It is now comparable to hotel prices. However, if you want a change of scenery, there are some seafood restaurants in the area. I won't recommend any specific restaurants, but it's best to choose one located directly at Bangsaen Pier. The atmosphere is authentic, with fishing boats docked everywhere.

For those who prefer to avoid seafood by the sea, there is a charming new restaurant located near the entrance of the resort. Situated just before the entrance to the resort on Soi Na Jomtien 50, this modern and inviting eatery offers a diverse menu of pasta, spaghetti, and various Western dishes. To top it off, indulge in delicious coffee, cakes, ice cream, and smoothies. The restaurant, known as B.Baimai Sattahip (not to be confused with the Pattaya branch), boasts a greenhouse-style design with air conditioning and lush greenery, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. A highly recommended dessert is the macadamia cake, known for its fragrant, nutty, and delectable flavor.

Before returning to Bangkok, a must-visit tourist spot is Wat Khao Chi Chan. Take photos with the beautiful Buddha statue carved on the cliff face of Khao Chi Chan and pay homage to the golden Buddha statue. If you have a wish, read the sign indicating where to apply gold leaf. Those with sufficient merit will have their wishes granted.

The nearby Wat Yansangwararam Woramahawihan boasts unique and beautiful architecture. Beyond its aesthetics, this royal first-class temple of the Dhammayuttika Nikaya sect, located in Huai Yai Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province, offers a profound experience. Established under the leadership of Somdet Phra Yanasangworn, the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand, the temple is currently overseen by Phra Dhammbandit (Aphiphol Aphiphalo).

Apart from its architectural splendor, the temple features a contemporary exhibition titled "What Did the Buddha Realize?" This exhibition narrates the life and enlightenment of the Buddha, offering a captivating and enriching experience. Visiting Wat Yansangwararam Woramahawihan without exploring this exhibition would be akin to an incomplete pilgrimage.

The exhibition is located under the replica of the Mahabodhi Temple at Wat Yannasangwararam. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. You may find the answers you seek within the temple.

Upon exiting the exhibition zone beneath the pagoda, visitors encounter captivating narratives about the life of Buddha. While some may perceive the abstract nature of the presentation as challenging to grasp, a closer examination reveals a profound and enriching experience. Each perspective offers a unique lens through which to understand the Buddha's journey, ultimately leading to a sense of tranquility and contentment. This immersive experience cannot be fully appreciated through mere description; it requires personal engagement and contemplation. A visit to this exhibition is highly recommended for those seeking a deeper understanding of the Buddha's life and teachings.

Immerse yourself in the captivating beauty of Buddhist art, leaving you feeling truly fulfilled. As you exit the temple, a magnificent lake unfolds before you, a popular spot for releasing fish as an act of merit. Local vendors offer fish for purchase, allowing you to participate in this meaningful tradition. Stroll through the serene park bordering the lake, where children assist in preparing the fish and lighting incense, creating a complete and immersive experience. The picturesque setting, coupled with the spiritual significance, provides a sense of peace and rejuvenation, preparing you to return to your daily routine with renewed focus and determination. May your visit to Sattahip, Bang Saray, be filled with positive experiences, just as ours was.
