During the long weekend in late July, I should have booked a flight to travel abroad. However, since it is the monsoon season in every country, I thought it would be better to sleep in my condo and wake up around noon every day. But hey! It would be boring to just lie in bed all day. I woke up at noon today and played with my phone. I searched for food around Phra Pathom Chedi and decided to drive there (but the market was closed in the end, but there is a shop to recommend). Follow me, let's drive from Nakhon Chai Si, near Buddha Monthon, Sai 5 first.
I am driving near Buddha Monthon Sai 5. My destination is the Film Archive.
The Film Archive (Public Organization) is a state agency similar to a library, museum, and art gallery, but it specifically collects films, videos, and related materials. Its mission is to preserve these materials as intellectual property and cultural heritage, and to make them accessible to the public for study, research, and enjoyment.
The reason I came here is because of this picture. It feels like being in Europe, giving a different kind of vibe.
I recently learned that Thomas Alva Edison invented the prototype for the motion picture. It was a box-like device with small holes that resembled a cave. However, I cannot recall the name of the other individual who contributed to this invention.
I've been secretly watching you, but you have no idea!
From the Film Archive (Public Organization), I drove on the inner road and ended up in Nakhon Chai Si District. I exited onto the main road leading to Nakhon Pathom to pay respects at the Phra Pathom Chedi.
I planned to grab a bite to eat near the temple, but there was a ceremony to celebrate the King's birthday, so food stalls were unlikely to be open. I searched Google for the top-rated restaurant and decided to go there.
I have found a restaurant called "Baan Rim Bueng".
This place is quite spacious, with plenty of props for taking photos and a dedicated area for children to play and run around.
The lakeside is beautiful at dusk, but what I like about this restaurant is that all the staff are very friendly. Since it was a long weekend, the restaurant was very crowded and the food took a long time to arrive. I ordered four dishes, and the first one took almost 50 minutes to arrive. The second and third dishes took about 40 minutes, and the last one took about 20 minutes. Normally, I would complain, but today I was feeling relaxed and didn't mind waiting. What's important is that I noticed the staff were keeping an eye on all the tables and observing the customers' reactions. They would immediately approach the customers and apologize for the delay in the food. This was really good, as I didn't have to ask for updates (some restaurants don't care about this). It's really important to manage the customer's mood. I really admire the staff at this restaurant.
Let's take a look at the taste of the food. The first menu is crab fried rice. The rice is quite good, and it's delicious with fish sauce chili. The only downside is that the crab is not chunky. Haha, it should be in chunks. But I understand that it's only 80 baht for this dish.
The second menu, steamed sea bass with young coconut, is absolutely amazing. I love the curry paste and the fresh seafood, including shrimp, clams, and squid, which are all perfectly cooked and have a delightful texture. This dish is highly recommended and costs 250 baht.
Five and a half kilograms of prawns for 400 baht. This head is really bouncy, the flesh is firm and chewy, it really fights your teeth when you bite into it. A real treat.
With full conviction.
The final menu item was the "Hoy Nang Rom Song Krueng" for 150 baht. I had originally ordered large oysters for 80-85 baht each, but they were out, so I got this instead. The taste was normal.
In conclusion, if there are any errors in this review, I apologize. If you have any questions or want to discuss, please add me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/littleduckinthefog.
