Event Entrance Decoration

Yesterday afternoon, I was invited to a food launch event at the Siam Kempinski Hotel. I was curious about what was being launched, and when I found out, I was puzzled. "Chicken that eats brown rice?" I thought. Chicken eating brown rice? But just the name of the hotel made me want to go. So, I went.

Benja Chicken food products are ready to eat.

The launch event featured "Benja Chicken," raised by U-Farm, a subsidiary of Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CP Foods). The company emphasizes that the chickens are fed brown rice, adhering to the concept "You are what you eat, but what you eat, what it eat?"

"Looks delicious! We'll see how it tastes soon."

100% Natural, Fragrant, Soft, and Juicy

This highlights the "consumer behavior trends of modern families" who prioritize the quality of raw ingredients used in cooking, demanding both deliciousness and health benefits. This has led to the production of fresh chicken products with outstanding qualities and global differentiation.

Chickens worldwide are typically fed with corn and soybeans. Only a few European countries feed them with wheat and soybeans. However, Benja Chicken has made a difference by leveraging innovation and expertise in animal feed. They raise their chickens with U-Farm's specially formulated brown rice, which is rich in GABA and antioxidants, along with vitamins B3, B6, and B9. This helps strengthen the chickens' muscles and provides them with a better muscle structure.

This unique process results in chicken meat that is exceptionally tender, flavorful, and juicy, boasting a 55% increase in these qualities compared to standard chicken. Moreover, it is guaranteed to be free of harmful substances, hormones, and antibiotics throughout the entire rearing process, adhering to the stringent global standards of NSF International (National Sanitation Foundation).

A Taste of Benja Chicken

While the origin and feed of the chicken may not always be top of mind during a busy lunch break, the taste should always be a priority. So, let's take a moment to "savor Benja Chicken." But before we delve into the delights of Benja Chicken, let's first explore the broader landscape of banquet cuisine.

A plethora of

Bagel with Cream Cheese and Smoked Salmon

The bagel slice might be slightly large compared to the salmon filling, but the bread itself is pleasantly soft. The flavor of the bread complements the bold taste of the salmon and cream cheese well.

Grilled Chicken Teriyaki Sauce

The chicken was tender and juicy, coated in a teriyaki sauce that was slightly lacking in flavor. However, it was still enjoyable to chew on.

Floating Lantern

The dish would be more convenient if the stir-fried ingredients at the bottom of the cup were directly poured into the ready-to-eat rice cracker. Instead, they must be transferred again, which is likely intended to prevent the cracker from becoming soggy and losing its crispness. However, this significantly detracts from the dining experience. The flavor is acceptable, although I personally find it a bit bland.

Benja Chicken: A Culinary Delight

Moving on to the main course, we have the Benja Chicken, a dish that truly embodies the essence of Thai cuisine. The chef expertly prepares the chicken, dicing it into bite-sized cubes and skewering them for presentation. These skewers are then artfully arranged in a clear glass, creating a visually appealing and enticing appetizer.

The aroma of the Benja Chicken is truly captivating, a testament to the skillful use of spices and herbs. Upon taking a bite, one is immediately struck by the tenderness and juiciness of the chicken. This stands in stark contrast to the typical dryness often associated with teriyaki chicken, highlighting the unique qualities of this dish.

Benja's grilled chicken is dry-grilled but moist, resulting in tender, chewy meat. Meanwhile, the teriyaki chicken, which is kept warm in a pot under teriyaki sauce, is also tender, but not as moist as Benja's grilled chicken. Next, we have the Caesar salad with chicken. This dish is simply indescribable. It is truly delicious, with fresh salad greens as the base and perfectly sliced chicken. The chicken is tender and juicy, and the Caesar salad dressing, with its grated Parmesan cheese, adds a sweet and savory flavor. We almost wanted to take the chicken on display home with us.

Let's get back to dessert.

Apple pies are delicious, with a soft, moist, and sweet apple filling. However, the pie crust tends to be flat and not very crispy. This is understandable, as it is a sweet pie, and the weight of the filling can cause it to collapse. This is especially noticeable when the pies are served stacked on top of each other, as they tend to lose their shape.

Lemon Tart: A Delightful Dessert

The lemon tart offers a delightful combination of sweet and tangy flavors, with a refreshing citrus aroma. Its zesty acidity is balanced by a subtle sweetness, making it a perfect accompaniment to tea or coffee. The crumbly, slightly crisp pastry crust provides a satisfying textural contrast, creating an overall enjoyable eating experience.

Seasonal fruits, needless to say, are very sour pineapples.
