"We traveled a long way to shoot a small project. Compared to the almost full-day shooting time, our video will have to be edited to no more than two minutes. The moving images may be a fraction of the journey, but we will compile it to resemble the good things we encountered."
Take a train to shoot a short film
After receiving the assignment to create a short video clip about finding happiness, my friend and I searched for tourist destinations that could be reached on a day trip. In the end, we both agreed on "Photharam" as our destination.
The journey began aboard the Thon Buri - Nam Tok train, with a fare of 0 baht. Passengers enjoyed scenic views and glimpses of local life along the railway. Food and drinks were readily available, delivered directly to each seat. Offerings included rice curry wrapped in banana leaves, grilled pork with sticky rice, and fresh coconut ice cream, among other treats brought by vendors at every station.
Weaving through the Potharam train station, you'll find "Do Nom Milk Potharam Living Room," a charming cafe housed in a traditional Thai wooden house that blends seamlessly with the market's ambiance. The airy and open interior invites you to relax and unwind, making it the perfect spot to while away the hours. Indulge in a selection of toasted bread, shaved ice desserts, pancakes, ice cream, and refreshing beverages to quench your thirst.
We hired a motorbike to take us to Wat Khanon, curious to see what "nang talung" was like. However, as the nang talung performance only had one show at 11:00 am sharp, by the time we arrived, the show was almost over. Anyone who wants to see nang talung should plan to arrive on time.
Speaking of famous Thai art in Ratchaburi, one must mention the Nang Yai shadow puppet show at Wat Khanon. However, there was a mixture of good and bad luck. As we walked further to the riverside, we stumbled upon a long-tail boat race, a rare sight to behold.
After spending a considerable amount of time strolling through the miniature temple fair, we hurried back to "Mae Lek's Black Tofu Shop" to savor its delicacies before returning to the train station for our journey home. This mini-trip, completed in a single day, offered a complete experience, even yielding a short film clip that we could submit to a competition.

The temple's interior is illuminated by an intriguing interplay of light and shadow. Armed with our cameras, we set out to capture this spectacle from every angle, exploring the interplay of light and shadow.
"Black tofu" is simmered in a savory broth over low heat for three days before being sold in front of the shop on the fourth day.
Amidst the winding alleys and hidden corners of Photharam, there are still numerous spots to strike a pose and capture the perfect picture.
