Away Chiang Mai Thapae Resort: A Prime Location for Shopping Enthusiasts

Away Chiang Mai Thapae Resort boasts a prime location, situated a mere 350 meters from Thapae Gate, a five-minute walk that grants guests immediate access to the vibrant shopping scene. This strategic positioning caters to those who relish the convenience of exploring local markets and indulging in retail therapy. The resort's proximity to Thapae Gate eliminates the need for extensive travel, allowing guests to effortlessly immerse themselves in the bustling atmosphere of Chiang Mai's shopping district.

The resort is located in Soi Tha Pae 5. If you are driving, there is limited parking available in front. Please contact the front desk for more information.

The resort is decorated in a colonial Lanna style, with clean white buildings that reflect the concept. Check in at the lobby and relax for a while.

The accommodation comprises a total of 39 rooms, including:

1. Deluxe Room

Deluxe Pool Access

  1. Suite

4. Family Suite

Beneath the building, a small relaxation area is available for guests. The furniture utilizes calming colors, contrasting with the white building.

Let's take a look at the "Family Suite," the highest room category here, of which there are only two available. Upon entering, you will find a living room with a sofa for relaxing and watching TV. This room is quite spacious and beautifully decorated. Although it is located in the Tha Pae area, which is full of tourists, once you enter the resort, it feels like you have entered another world. It is very peaceful and quiet.

A small bed for the third guest is charmingly arranged, perfect for families with children.

The work desk is located in the same zone as the mini-bar. The room's decor features antique ceramics, reflecting a colonial style that perfectly embodies the essence of Chiang Mai. International tourists are particularly fond of this style.

The master bedroom is spacious and well-equipped, with access to a balcony that offers stunning views of the surrounding nature.

The bathroom has a good wet and dry separation, and most importantly, it has a bathtub for soaking in warm water and making fluffy, fragrant bubbles. It is very suitable for relaxing after sightseeing and shopping at Tha Pae.

The next room is the "Suit" room, which is where we stayed on this trip. The rooms here are named after streets in Chiang Mai. This room is 203, named Suri ya wong.

The room features one king-size bed and one single bed, comfortably accommodating three guests. The plush mattresses offer a heavenly sleeping experience, while the pillows come in both soft and firm options to suit your preference.

A cozy corner in the room for relaxation with Welcome fruit provided in the room.

The hotel provides handy phones for guests to use during their stay. These phones can be taken outside the hotel and used to make calls within Thailand and internationally. They also offer internet access and information about sightseeing in Chiang Mai. This is a truly modern amenity.

The bedside table features an LCD TV with a comprehensive channel guide, a mini-bar with complimentary and chargeable items, and Doi Kham fruit juice from the Royal Project.

Waking up early, making a cup of coffee, and relaxing on the balcony is a great way to start the day.

The room is fully equipped with amenities, including a robe, safe, wardrobe, and umbrella.

The bathroom features a wet and dry separation, a bathtub for soaking, and colonial-style tiles that are pleasing to the eye.

The amenities kit comes in a ceramic bottle with a delightful rice milk scent.

The next popular room type is the "Deluxe Pool Access" room. As soon as you open the door, you can jump straight into the pool! However, due to its high demand, you'll need to book this room well in advance. With only 5 rooms available, it fills up quickly. This room is similar to the Deluxe room, but with the added benefit of direct pool access.

The swimming pool is not limited to guests with Pool Access rooms. All hotel guests are welcome to use it, however, the pool is relatively small.

We stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights. The only restaurant here is Moreganic Restaurant, which is the selling point and pride of Away Chiang Mai Thapae Resort. It is a restaurant that is free of meat and alcohol, with vegetables from the Royal Project. It can be said that it is a leading resort for those who truly love health.

We had the opportunity to sample the food here, which includes both Thai and international cuisine. The meat-free fusion menu was incredibly creative.

This menu is "Organic Khao Soi". The main ingredients are vegetables, so you can rest assured that the taste is delicious, just like regular Khao Soi, only without meat. Don't worry if you come to Chiang Mai and stay here but want to try Khao Soi, which is a local dish. You can definitely eat it. As for whether you will be full? Very full, and delicious too.

Sticky rice, grilled chicken, and papaya salad. Wait! Didn't you say it was meat-free? Well, the chicken is actually made from mushrooms and beans. It tastes very similar to grilled chicken and is also delicious. Even though it's made from vegetables, the taste is excellent.

Another menu is "Tofu Satay", which is presented just like pork satay, with peanut sauce, pickled cucumber, and onions. The only difference is that the meat is replaced with tofu.

The breakfast buffet offers a variety of options, including bread, salads, fruits, freshly squeezed juices, cereals, and even brown rice porridge and stir-fried noodles. Tea and coffee can be ordered from the staff. Notably, the ham, bacon, and sausages are all made from vegetables, demonstrating impressive culinary skill.

Let's take a look at the evening atmosphere. It's beautiful in a different way. After shopping at Tha Pae, we returned to the resort to relax. The atmosphere made us feel refreshed.

The housekeeper turned down the bed neatly.

Woo Cafe: A Chic Oasis in Chiang Mai

Nestled near Wat Ket Karam, Woo Cafe offers a captivating experience for any visitor to Chiang Mai. Easily accessible by red taxis or songthaews, this cafe boasts stunning decor that guarantees to charm even the most discerning individual.

Beyond its aesthetic appeal, Woo Cafe provides a haven for art enthusiasts with its captivating gallery and a treasure trove of chic merchandise. During our visit, the festive atmosphere buzzed with activity, but the wait for a table was minimal. While we eagerly awaited our turn, the abundance of photogenic corners kept us entertained, leaving us wanting more even after the friendly staff ushered us to our table.

I didn't eat lunch today because I already had breakfast at the hotel. So I just ordered a watermelon salad with dried fish and a Longjing tea with lychee juice to snack on. But when the waiter served it, I was surprised! The plate was huge, and the glass was gigantic! I couldn't finish it all.

Another great option is the Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden, located in Mae Rim district. It's a bit further out, but it's definitely worth the trip. The views are stunning, the air is fresh, and you're sure to come back with plenty of beautiful and stylish photos. Highly recommended!

This concludes our unforgettable trip to Chiang Mai. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Away Chiang Mai Thapae Resort for making this wonderful experience possible. Despite its location in the bustling Thapae district, the resort offers a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a getaway. The food was exceptional, catering to health-conscious individuals without compromising on taste or variety.
