With the arrival of the rainy season, the rice fields become a destination, a paradise in the rice fields of "Pa Pong Pieng".
The most beautiful terraced rice fields in Thailand, with views of rice fields on high hills and complex mountain ranges, creating another beautiful viewpoint in Chiang Mai province.
Getting There
From Doi Inthanon: Drive up Doi Inthanon until you reach the park entrance. Turn left at the fork towards Mae Chaem district. Continue driving until you reach Mae Pan Waterfall. From there, you can only take a 4WD vehicle provided by local villagers.
Alternatively, from Mae Chaem district: You can drive directly to Pa Pong Piang.
Accommodation
Ma Chi Po Homestay: Costs 500 baht per person, including dinner and breakfast. You can also use the villagers' 4WD vehicle for transportation to and from the homestay for an additional 700 baht. Meet them at the Mae Pan Waterfall Ranger Station.
Important note: Bring a flashlight as there is no electricity at the homestay.
Mae Pan Waterfall Protection Unit Area
The vehicle you see is the one that will transport us, it belongs to the local villagers.
Who told you to bring a wheeled suitcase on a hiking trip? 55+
Adjacent to the parking lot, there is another waterfall called Huai Sai Luang Waterfall, which is less than 200 meters away.
Let's get on the bus and continue our journey.
Why hire villagers to pick us up? Well, look this way.
After a 40-minute bumpy ride, we finally arrived at our accommodation.
The images we often see in reviews, we have finally experienced them ourselves. Yay! Yay!
Our Room: A Shared Space for Two and Three
This is our room, a shared space for two and three individuals. The room is divided into two sections, one accommodating three people and the other accommodating two.
The bathroom is located downstairs and does not have hot water.
Around 5 pm, our dinner arrived. Each homestay had slightly different dishes.
Everything was delicious, we kept refilling our rice bowls, haha!
After we were full, we went for a walk and took photos in the rice fields.
As the sun sets, darkness descends, and candles are lit everywhere.
Breakfast arrived promptly in the morning, just as we were waking up.
Before leaving, I had to take a walk to capture the morning atmosphere. With such a beautiful view, how could I not take pictures? Right?
