Phu Thap Boek, Ban Khek Noi
This episode of Wildlife, we'll take a break from the jungle and visit the province of Phetchabun. We'll see the vibrant pink blooms of the Dok Phaya Sua Krong flowers and camp out at the Hek Noi village, known as the largest Hmong village in Siam.
Our journey began in the dead of night from Saraburi, arriving at Phu Thap Boek as dawn broke. Our mission was to capture the morning light, but rain relentlessly accompanied us throughout the journey. As expected, the Wild Himalayan Cherry blossoms were scattered by the heavy downpour. However, we were consoled by the breathtaking mist that enveloped the landscape. After reveling in the ethereal mist, we found solace in the fallen blossoms carpeting the ground, a warm cup of coffee, and steamed buns offered by a kind-hearted local tourist we met along the way. Every journey holds a unique narrative. Strangers become acquaintances through shared experiences, forging bonds unlike any other.
We then continued our journey to the Hek Noi village, hoping to conquer the beautiful summit of Pha That, which we had heard was a challenging climb. Along the way, we weren't sure whether to be happy or cry, as the rain poured down on us the entire way. Of course, the ground was soaked from the rain, and that's when the exclamation came out: "Oh my god! Sh*t! Dude!" (Drag out the sound for a bit for some humor, haha!)
"Of course, it made the journey much more difficult. Uncle Green took us halfway, but we couldn't continue due to the slippery and dangerous road, and we didn't have a winch. So, we decided to turn back and set up camp by the side of the road. However, we still managed to choose a good spot with a beautiful view of the layered mountains, just like the beautiful scenery behind our house! Haha!"
This trip, we were unable to conquer the summit of Pha That. However, this does not diminish our determination. We will return to challenge it again. As the saying goes, "The journey is the destination."
"Perhaps the destination is not as important as the journey itself."
