A small boat to take you to the big boat

After breakfast at the Chiva Puri Beach Resort, it was time to explore the sea. The meeting point was at the beach in front of the resort, on Klong Koi Beach. A small boat from the diving tour picked us up and took us to the larger boat.

A large boat that will take us to go snorkeling to see the coral reefs.

Our coral reef snorkeling tour today will take place on a large, two-story boat. We will visit a total of five islands in the Mu Ko Chang National Park for snorkeling and one island for sightseeing. We will depart in the morning.

Our tour boat sails across the vast expanse of water. Although there is a moderate wind, the captain assures us that it is not too strong. Therefore, there is no need to worry. We will definitely be able to visit all 5 islands. On board, there is a self-service water and coffee station available throughout the trip.

The five islands where we will go snorkeling to see the coral reefs are: Ko Yak Lek, Ko Mapring, Ko Rang Yai, Ko Yak Yai, and Ko Rang. On the last island, we will go ashore to admire the beauty of the beach and the beautiful sea.

The islands where we went diving

As we approached the first island for our diving adventure, Koh Yak Lek, the boat's crew distributed the necessary equipment: life jackets and snorkels. Each dive was accompanied by a staff member from the boat, ensuring both convenience and safety. Often, to maximize our time, they would guide us, amateur divers, to spots with stunning coral reefs.

The first island we visited, the staff provided us with life jackets and took us to see various coral reefs. I wanted to capture the underwater scenery, but I didn't have an underwater camera. I thought about renting one from the boat, but I was so engrossed in the diving that I couldn't find the rental counter. Instead, I put my phone in a plastic bag, tied it with rubber bands, and took it underwater to take pictures. I had so much fun that I completely forgot about renting a camera from the boat.

National Park Protection Unit 5 (Koh Rang)

The boat brought us to the fifth island, the National Park Protection Unit 5 (Koh Rang). We docked at a bridge that was like a floating pontoon, making it bounce up and down all the time. The children had a lot of fun. This place is special because only tours from this company can play on the inflatable slide. The tour company invested in buying this slide to float around for tourists to play on at Koh Rang.

Rang Island boasts stunning coastlines ideal for swimming or relaxing amidst picturesque landscapes. We disembarked to rest and check our phone photos, only to discover they were unusable. The plastic bag protecting the phone was slightly opaque, and the device's heat generated a hazy white mist. Combined with the rippling water, the photos turned out poorly.

Upon boarding the boat, complaints arose regarding the unusable photos taken. The staff member offered to send underwater photos they had captured, which are included in this entry. After departing from Koh Rang, the boat headed straight for Bang Bao Pier, a large pier where smaller boats would take us back to Chiva Puri Beach Resort.

Bang Baeu Pier and Bang Baeu Lighthouse

We arrived at Bang Baeo Pier. We asked the boat staff to go up to buy things at Bang Baeo Pier first. Then we took a small boat back to Chiva Puri Beach Resort.

Bang Baeo Public Market

After returning from a scuba diving tour, we arrived at Cheeva Puri Beach Resort in the late afternoon. After resting for a while, we took a shower and got ready for dinner, which was included in our scuba diving package.

The Restaurant at Chiva Puri Resort

The dining room at Chiva Puri Beach Resort was bustling today, as a barbecue party was being held inside due to the light rain that had been falling throughout the evening.

Seafood for BBQ

Let's take a look at our dinner for tonight.

Still craving the fish sauce fried chicken wings, we decided to have them again for dinner. Naturally, after a hot and salty day at the beach, we craved refreshing drinks. We ordered three fruit smoothies (not included in the package): a mango smoothie, a pineapple smoothie, and a watermelon smoothie.

Raging Sea Maniac

Yesterday, we enjoyed the "Fierce Sea Madness," a spicy stir-fry of various seafood. Today, we tried the "Boiling Sea Madness," which was equally delicious and spicy. The hot broth was a welcome addition, soothing our throats. The freshness of the seafood and the variety of spices created a harmonious blend of sour, spicy, and salty flavors. As advertised, the dish was fiery but undeniably delicious.

Stir-fried Chicken with Cardamom Pods

This dish is not easy to find because cardamom kernels are a local herb. Therefore, they have been adapted into food. And when used as an ingredient in stir-fried chicken with cardamom kernels, it enhances the flavor and adds a crunchy texture, making the already delicious stir-fried chicken even more delicious. And as usual, we can't miss out on an extra plate of omelet.

Our dinner

We still have one more breakfast included in our package for the morning of our departure.

It's time to head back.

Goodbye, Chiva Puri Beach Resort

After breakfast, we prepared to return. Luckily, the resort's car was taking guests who had arrived to stay, so we were able to hitch a ride to the ferry pier just in time.

As the ferry arrived, it was preparing to depart from Koh Chang Island back to Trat. This saved us from having to wander around the area. We bought tickets, found seats, and it was time to say goodbye to Koh Chang. We returned to work to earn money for our next trip. The trip "I thought I was an islander for 3 days and 2 nights" ended beautifully.

Thank you for watching.
