In this trip, the transportation cost from our village was free because two women offered us a ride to Sawankhalok Station. However, we actually needed to go to Si Satchanalai (you can arrange for transportation from our accommodation for 350 baht).

  • Taxi fare back 335 baht

The total cost of this trip was 1,885 baht.

22:30 Departure on Friday from Mo Chit. After a 7-8 hour journey, we will arrive in Si Satchanalai at 7:30. The first place we will visit is the "Si Satchanalai Historical Park". We will take a motorbike taxi from here.

8.00 Arrival at Si Satchanalai Historical Park

Si Satchanalai Historical Park is located in Si Satchanalai district, covering the sub-districts of Sarachit, Nong O, and Tha Chan. The Fine Arts Department has designated an area of approximately 28,217 rai as the archaeological site of Si Satchanalai. This park has been recognized as a World Heritage Site.

The entrance fee is only 20 baht per person. There are many photo opportunities, and bicycles are available for rent for those who enjoy cycling. Most importantly, the air is fresh and clean. Take a day to relax and unwind here.

After visiting Uthayan Park, we hired the same motorbike for 300 baht (we asked for the driver's number) to travel to Baan Na Ton Chan. It is actually possible to contact the accommodation for a pick-up service for only 350 baht, which would have been much more comfortable. We arrived at Baan Na Ton Chan around 11:50 am.

We stayed at Grandma Ramporn's house. She was incredibly kind and welcoming, offering us fresh fruit, cold drinks, and warm hugs. Grandma suggested local attractions and even offered bicycles for rent at 30 baht, complete with a young guide. However, I wasn't able to ride a bike, so I opted to relax instead.

15:00 Prepare to eat a must-try local dish, "Giant-Toppling Rice." This dish gets its name from its enormous bowl. For only 50 baht, you can enjoy a generous portion of this local delicacy.

After lunch, Grandma took me for a walk around the village.

The sun is hot, but I'm chilling like a boss. 555.

Let's go to Huai Ton Hai. This is why we came here.

Let's go hunting for fog, let's chase the fog.

04:40 Departure for Huai Ton Hai by pickup truck. A guide will pick you up at your house with one car per household. There were only two of us in the back, and the road was quite rough, making our heads bob around. (We laughed.) Due to the previous rain, the road was muddy and slippery. It took about 15 minutes to reach the starting point of our adventure.

The adventurous hike took approximately 40 minutes, with 5 rest stops along the way. Despite the heavy breathing, the fatigue vanished upon reaching the summit. The sun had yet to rise, and the thick fog provided a sense of tranquility and visual comfort. We settled down to await the sunrise.

Abundant photo opportunities.

Freshly brewed Ovaltine served in bamboo cylinders. Campers who sleep in tents above will enjoy their meals served in bamboo cylinders. Looks delicious!

07.10 We prepare to descend from Huai Ton Hai, mentally preparing for a long walk down.

On the way back down to the village, I asked to sit in the back to soak in the atmosphere on both sides of the road. This trip was truly fulfilling. For those who want to visit, be sure to check the weather conditions. I recommend going after the rainy season, as the village will not allow access if it is raining or if the path is muddy and slippery. This is for our own safety. Be sure to inquire with the homestay where you are staying. When going up, it is recommended to wear long pants to protect yourself from mosquitoes, insects, and branches. Upon reaching the village, prepare for your return trip to Bangkok. A relaxing trip for those who enjoy relaxation...Good Bye Baan Na Ton Chan.
