On September 22nd, I participated in the "Planting Seedlings, Expanding Forests" volunteer activity at the Mae Nam Phachi Wildlife Sanctuary in Ratchaburi province with the "Volunteer Together" group for the first time. The invitation mentioned interesting preparation details.
Preparation for Participation in Activities
- A welcoming smile for new friends 🙂
- A volunteer spirit ready to improve society and the environment
- Medications for chronic illnesses
A large bus departed from the PTT gas station at Sanam Pao, heading towards the Mae Nam Phachi Wildlife Sanctuary in Ratchaburi province. The journey began around 7:00 AM and concluded at approximately 10:00 AM.
Travel to the Mae Nam Pachi Wildlife Sanctuary Headquarters.
The plant nursery was unfortunately closed due to the approaching rain, preventing any plant propagation activities.
We have arrived at the Mae Nam Pachi Wildlife Sanctuary office.
Volunteer staff organized recreational activities to welcome new friends who joined the trip.
Simple but fun games that will have you laughing out loud.
There are prizes to be given away.
The head of the Mae Nam Pachi Wildlife Sanctuary gave a presentation on the forest and the animals that live there.
Our lunch today was provided by the forest rangers.
Everyone enjoyed the delicious food.
A commemorative photo was then taken.
The winding road offered breathtaking views.
Upon arrival at the designated area, we embarked on a trek through the dense forest to reach the site prepared by the forest rangers for our dam construction activity.
Equipment ready.
We have two groups. This group builds weirs. Everyone helps out, lending a hand and having fun.
This group created artificial salt licks by adding mineral supplements, providing animals with an additional food source.
The weirs and ponds are completed. A group photo was taken to commemorate the completion of today's work.
The team removed equipment from the forest before entering the seed-planting program, but the rain started to fall, leaving our members soaked.
A group of friends who have studied and participated in activities together decided that public service should not be limited to their group. They wanted to expand opportunities for public service by organizing activities and inviting the general public, both those interested and those not, to learn about their small group's ongoing public service efforts.
Through consistent participation in public benefit activities, such as mangrove planting, mangrove seedling cultivation, dam construction, and many others, you can visit, encourage, discover their identities, or join their activities at Facebook อาสามาด้วยกัน: https://www.facebook.com/asa.kreate/ Give it a try, you might discover something good in yourself.
