Hello, hello, hello! Three times hello...
We are a family who loves to travel. In fact, it's not just us, it's our whole family... So, you who are reading this, you like to travel too, right? Okay, no need to tell me, I know. 555 Otherwise, why would you be sitting here watching, standing watching, sitting reading? :) Okay, okay, don't close it yet, it's just a joke, don't stress. We, well, I, am a salesman. I don't have much free time, so I have to go out and travel with my family. Sometimes I want to share my travel experiences so that you can see and have fun together... Come on, let's join in.
This trip we will go to Khao Kho. You can visit this place all year round. It's not difficult to get there. Come on, it's fun...
During the free time between August 28th and 30th, 2018, we decided to go on a trip to Khao Kho, Phetchabun.
We visited this place almost four years ago (not living here for four years, just visited). Wow, let's take a look at the pictures. This place is beautiful, with a cool mist. We'll definitely get some great pictures. It's perfect for relaxation... eating, drinking, and having fun! 555+
Cut to... I don't want to say anything. As soon as I got out of the car, they all left me to take pictures. Hmph.
Nearly seven hours ago, we embarked on our journey at 00:23:50 from Samut Sakhon, heading towards Khao Kho in Phetchabun. We were determined, not because we had anything planned, but simply because we hadn't slept yet. However, there was no need to worry, as we had multiple drivers.
The journey continued with occasional naps and awakenings. When I finally woke up, we were already approaching the ascent. It was around 6:00 AM. The drowsiness vanished as soon as I opened my eyes. "Wow, look at the fog!" I exclaimed. My brother and his wife echoed my sentiment. The view was truly breathtaking, a sight that invigorated our senses. Some details were even more vivid to the naked eye than through the camera lens. In short, it was simply stunning.
Arriving early in the morning, driving through the fog, forgetting about stress, finding happiness for the body and mind, filling the strength to create dreams.
My father drove to find accommodation first. We were going to the place where we had stayed almost four years ago. We didn't make a reservation or an appointment. We like to take chances.
After driving for a while, we arrived at the Khao Kho viewpoint. There was a light mist, which was refreshing. Our accommodation, with its orange roof, is far away over there.
Students are waiting to be picked up and to sell souvenirs.
My son is having a lot of fun.
Drive down the alley next to the viewpoint. Tonight, we will rest at the Seemork Resort.
I have arrived.
The accommodation is decent and friendly. We got a good price: 800 baht per night for two rooms, or 1600 baht in total. The accommodation is not luxurious, but it has beautiful views and is friendly. If you are not picky, you can sleep comfortably. There are definitely no ghosts.
The room is equipped with a fan and a gas water heater (fan and air conditioning are not necessary as the weather is cool all night). Guests are allowed to bring in food and drinks, and grilling is permitted.
Breakfast includes rice porridge, bread, coffee, tea, and cocoa, served with beautiful morning mist and a pleasant temperature.
(I don't get paid for advertising, but if you want millions of beautiful views for a few hundred or thousand dollars, then go ahead.)
We're all packed and ready to head out to the Windmill Field. I highly recommend coming here while it's still relatively uncrowded.
On the way up to Tung Kan Hin Lom.
Let's go, buy tickets and get on the bus to travel. I want to tell you that it's worth buying. I walked to buy inside. There are 2 ticket booths, one at the front and one inside. I asked the driver and he said that he will run on the same road. But the one I'm on will go deeper. It's worth it, it's worth it.
It's time to hop on the bus and enjoy the scenic views along the beautiful road, free from exhaust fumes, traffic lights, and congestion. No need to rush, no need to check the time, just open your eyes, let your mind wander with the breeze, let nature guide you, let the fresh air cleanse your lungs, store the memories and moments in your head, and travel... blissfully.
Looking closely, these pillars are quite large.
Upon reaching the end of the path, we encountered the owner's dog, who greeted us enthusiastically. The dog was leashed, not out of aggression, but because the owner informed us that it was overly playful.
On the way back, the kind driver will stop at this point. That day, I was lucky that there weren't many people, so I had a lot of fun swinging. Try it and you'll see how much fun it is. 555
The tour is over, and we're heading back. Look at my brother sleeping soundly. He looks like he just went out to buy a Coke from the corner store.
Snap a picture with the giant, or it will get upset (and I won't get paid for the advertisement).
On the way back, I drove past my accommodation to buy some seafood dipping sauce. Feeling hungry and craving coffee, I decided to stop at this roadside cafe. The food was decent and affordable. If you're passing by, give it a try!
Upon arrival at the accommodation, prepare food and drinks. In the evening, take a leisurely stroll around the area.
Next to the accommodation.
.
You can try walking down to see it. Below are the villagers' fields and rice paddies. The path is quite far, so it will take some time.
Couples can enjoy a romantic stroll together. On the way back, they might even get a chance to test their true love. Haha.
It's time to party! The barbecue food we prepared is ready.
**Note:** During the midday hours, strong winds and frigid temperatures are prevalent. It is highly recommended to wear appropriate clothing for these conditions.
Good morning! The light mist welcomes you, the view is right in front of your room. Open the door and you'll see it.
Have breakfast together.
Before leaving, let's take a look around the accommodation.
Stop by a local vendor's shop for fresh and affordable souvenirs straight from the farm, available all day long.
We made one more stop to pray at Wat Phra before heading home. This is another recommended place to visit. I didn't stop by the legendary coffee shop because the wind and rain were very strong that day.
The villagers' houses in this area evoke memories of my childhood. I imagine the joy of gathering around a bonfire on a cold winter night.
Continuing our journey, we stopped for a delicious grilled chicken and papaya salad, the original recipe from Wichian Buri in Wichian Buri district. The grilled chicken was incredibly flavorful, and it was definitely worth it. We even bought two more to take home!
Please offer this to the respected monk at the coffee shop.
This is me, a small-time salesman. Haha.
Thank you for reading this far.
Khao Kho: A Year-Round Destination
Khao Kho offers a plethora of accommodation options, making it an ideal year-round destination. However, to avoid crowds, it's advisable to steer clear of weekends and public holidays.
Taking the time to explore different accommodations is highly recommended, as some hidden gems with stunning views and serene atmospheres may not be advertised online. Additionally, dining options are readily available, ensuring a convenient and enjoyable experience.
A two-day trip is recommended, suitable for families with young children, couples, and groups of friends.
