Hello! This trip, our page will introduce you to traveling with new friends and strangers who come together for short trips in the form of reviews with the Khao Kiri Wong trip. … Why Khao Kiri Wong? If you're curious, join us on the journey!

We gathered at Hua Lamphong Railway Station at 6:30 PM. The train we will take to Khao Wong is Express Train No. 85 from Bangkok to Nakhon Si Thammarat. The train departs from Bangkok Railway Station at 7:30 PM and is scheduled to arrive in Nakhon Si Thammarat at 10:55 AM. #Khao Wong can be reached by train at 2 stations, namely Khlong Tan Di Station and Nakhon Si Thammarat Station. We chose to get off at Nakhon Si Thammarat because transportation is easier in the city of Nakhon Si Thammarat than in Khlong Chan Di district. More importantly, it is also close to Wat Phra That.

We are seated in a second-class air-conditioned car (actually a JR West car for people with disabilities, but modified for general passengers). The seats are very spacious, with 220V power outlets. There is also space for luggage. I must say that the air conditioning is very cold!

Sharing a meal with fellow travelers in the dining car is a delightful experience. Give it a try and see for yourself.

Around midnight, the train arrived at Hua Hin station. We used our ninja skills to quickly get off and take pictures of the pavilion at night. It was truly beautiful.

As dawn broke, they gathered on the train's food cart. Entering the southern region, the air began to cool.

Although the train journey was quite long, the time flew by quickly thanks to the conversations and connections made with fellow travelers.

11:00 AM: Train Arrival and Transfer in Nakhon Si Thammarat

The train arrived in Nakhon Si Thammarat slightly behind schedule. Upon disembarking, we met the driver of the songthaew we had booked in advance for a two-day private charter. The driver, a kind gentleman, had arrived at the station even before the train's scheduled arrival.

Our first stop is Wat Mahathat, a renowned temple in Nakhon Si Thammarat known for its Jatukamam Ramathep statue. The temple is approximately 5 kilometers from the train station.

➡️ The driver, Uncle Tom, was very kind and provided us with excellent service. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable driver. You can reach him at 0898687100.

Although it's a simple, local bus, it's still fun in its own way. 😉

The view from the city to Kiree Wong village

After leaving Wat Mahathat, we headed to our second stop, Kiree Wong Village, which is about 30 kilometers away. The ride was hot and sunny, but as we entered the village, the air became cool and comfortable thanks to the surrounding mountains.

We stayed at @KeeReeWong Homestay, owned by P'A. The service here is very friendly, and the owner takes care of us like family. The accommodation is affordable, but we feel very warm here. But thank you to the good homestay that came and felt like it wasn't a homestay. #But it feels like visiting relatives in the countryside more than anything. They take very good care of us as if we were their children. P'A cooks delicious food, and P'Om takes very good care of us. The rooms are very cheap, the view is good, the air is very good, and if you walk a little, you will find a waterfall. ➡️KeeReeWong Homestay⬅️ If you are going to KeeReeWong, I highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed. Call 0864789465 or link to Facebook https://www.facebook.com/ahomestay/ Oh, I forgot to mention that the homestay is next to the waterfall. Just walk out of the homestay and cross the road, and you'll be at the waterfall ^^

Absolutely! After traveling such a long distance, it's truly rewarding to be greeted by such a breathtaking view. The fatigue instantly vanishes.

In the late afternoon, we rented bicycles from Baan Naitang, a renowned shop that is a must-visit for anyone visiting Kiriwong. Baan Naitang is a cafe with a relaxed atmosphere. We cycled to the most popular waterfall spot.

It took us about 20-30 minutes to cycle up the hill. The climb was challenging as it was constantly uphill, but the fresh air and beautiful views along the way made it worthwhile.

On our way to our destination, we stopped to take pictures along the way. The atmosphere here feels like everyone is living together in harmony and helping each other out. The people in Khao Wong are very friendly. Some people we didn't even know greeted us and asked if we were here for a visit.

We have arrived at the waterfall! ^^ There are a lot of people playing in the water, even though it's already getting late. There are many shops in the area, so you don't have to worry about being hungry after playing in the water. ^^

The waterfall play area features a suspension bridge for taking stylish photos. In the distance, you can see the mountains that are the source of the waterfall. I can assure you that seeing it in person is much more beautiful than in pictures.

The landmark of this place is the Kiriwong Bridge, where everyone must come to take pictures at this point. If you don't take a picture with the bridge, it's considered that you haven't arrived at Kiriwong. The bridge is only 500 meters away from the accommodation.

A party at Khao Kiri Wong is a must. Sitting and eating by the waterfall is an experience that can't be beat.

After returning from the waterfall, we returned the bicycles to Mr. Thang's house. This shop is not boring even if you stay for an hour because there are so many places for us to take pictures!!

In the evening atmosphere at our accommodation, we have activities and games for our fellow travelers to play.

The view from this point is from the Kiriwong Bridge. The canal you see was not originally a canal, but a school and village. However, due to flooding, the water washed away the village and school, leaving behind the Kiriwong Canal that we see today.

Surrounding the village, wherever you go, you will see streams flowing through the village and mountains surrounding it, making the atmosphere here feel cool and comfortable all the time. The best air in Thailand, we think it's not an exaggeration because the air is really good.

A familiar sight is children and tourists playing in the waterfall all along the way, because the water is very clear and really cold, I must say.

The next day (Day 2), we woke up early to visit the third spot, @Tham Nam Sri Thammarat. It's a cave with a waterfall inside. Yes, you heard that right. If you walk into the cave, you'll actually find a waterfall. However, getting there is no easy feat. You have to wade through water in the dark, with the water level ranging from ankle-deep to head-high. This tourist attraction was only discovered a few years ago, and it has a lot to offer in terms of exploration and sightseeing.

Exploring the Unseen: A Journey into Tham Nam Sri Dharmasok

This post details the author's experience exploring Tham Nam Sri Dharmasok, a hidden gem in Thailand. The author contacted guides in advance to navigate the challenging terrain, requiring two guides for a group of eight tourists. The journey involved a 4-kilometer trek through water, ranging from ankle-deep to chest-high, with sections requiring rope climbing. The cave itself is devoid of artificial lighting, relying solely on headlamps for illumination.

The author emphasizes the unique and challenging nature of this adventure, highlighting the cave's single entrance and exit, the absence of electricity, and the physical demands of the journey. The post concludes by showcasing the stunning natural beauty of the cave, including an internal waterfall, and emphasizes the camaraderie and affordability of the experience.

Listen to the guide's instructions on entering the cave and the precautions to take while walking in the cave.

After paying our respects at the sacred site, we descended into the cave. Come along with us on this exciting adventure!

As soon as I got down, I was greeted by the water. It was so clear and cold, it was almost freezing.

The cave is very dark and there are no artificial lights, unlike most caves. This is because the local villagers want to preserve the natural environment of the cave in its raw state. The only source of light is from headlamps worn by visitors.

This is the point where hot and cold water converge.

The cave is full of岔路, and without a guide, you are sure to get lost. After walking about 1 kilometer, the guide will lead you up from the waterfall to see stalactites and stalagmites that resemble the city pillar shrine of Nakhon Si Thammarat.

The water was already chest-deep, but we continued walking hand-in-hand. Our guide took excellent care of us.

The sign says it's almost 1 kilometer. Can you handle it? Ask your heart. Come on, let's go!

We have reached a small waterfall inside the cave. We have walked as far as we can go due to the strong current. It is best to stop here. If we continue, we will encounter a larger waterfall. We recommend visiting during the dry season when the water level is lower. This will allow you to reach the larger waterfall and continue to the second level.

Let's take a quick photo to commemorate this moment, especially after trekking through water for 2 kilometers. Oh, by the way, this cave only has one entrance and exit, which means we have to walk back through the water for another 2 kilometers.

The provided text is empty. There is nothing to translate.

The initial section of the cave requires a short uphill climb on comfortable stairs. Upon entering the cave, you will encounter water immediately. The water level initially alternates between ankle-deep and waist-deep, with some sections featuring strong currents. There are only a few sections where the water is deep enough to submerge your head, but ropes are provided for swimming and climbing. It's important to note that you will be walking against the current on the way in, which can be quite tiring.

After walking for about another kilometer, we reached the highlight of the trip: a waterfall inside the cave. During the dry season (April), the water level is low. The return trip is the same 2-kilometer route.

The total time spent walking in and out of the cave was approximately 3 hours, which was quite tiring. I would like to express my gratitude to the guide for this trip to the Tham Nam cave.

If you're visiting Makhiriwong, be sure to stop by the famous Aunt Kiew's noodle shop. This restaurant serves delicious and affordable "poofeh" style rice noodles, guaranteed to satisfy your taste buds.

(Day 3) We woke up early to catch the first light of the day at the Kiriwong Bridge. Besides the bridge, the village is full of cool photo spots.

The Kiriwong morning market is a must-visit. It's a local market with a wide variety of delicious and affordable food.

The fourth tourist spot, @Chiva Go Viewpoint, we left the village at 8:30 am to prepare to return to Bangkok by train. Uncle Tom, the driver, took us to see the view and Giraffe Cafe at Chiva Go Viewpoint, a coffee shop on the mountain with a great view of the surrounding village.

Moving on from Chiva Go, we visited the fifth tourist spot, @Tham Kaew Surakarn. It's a cave located right by the road. The entrance is very dark, so we had to use our phone flashlights to walk in. The entrance to the end of the cave, where we could walk, was about 500 meters. Inside the cave, it's a dry cave with a stream of water flowing through it. There are various statues inside the cave, such as a tiger, a monk, and a tree nymph, for us to worship. It can be a bit spooky at times, haha.

Beyond the Kaew Surakan Cave, we stopped at the sixth tourist spot, the Father Klai Well. It is a temple and a place of spiritual solace, revered by the people of Kiriwong. It is said that whoever makes a wish here will have it granted, but they must return to make an offering.

The seventh stop is Baan Lek Klang Huab Khao, a unique cafe where you can enjoy coffee while dangling your feet or take in the breathtaking 90° panoramic view from above. The prices are reasonable, and most visitors come here for the photo opportunities rather than the coffee itself.

We returned to Bangkok by express train No. 174 from Nakhon Si Thammarat to Bangkok. It was a second-class sleeper fan train. The train departed from Nakhon Si Thammarat station at 13.00 hrs. It was quite hot, but as it started to get cooler, the air became pleasantly cool. At night, it was even cold because the train passed through forests and mountains. Sitting on the train and watching the scenery made the journey less boring. As for food, there was no need to worry. There were vendors who came up to sell us food all the time.

The sleeper car on the second floor was equipped with fans. It was quite cold at night. The train safely arrived in Bangkok at 5:30 AM.

Backpacking is never as fun without friends. Eating, sleeping, exploring, and returning together makes the journey enjoyable, memorable, and truly special.
