This is an old blog post of mine that I am re-presenting here.
EP.2
Bound for Ang Khang
The next day…
Departed from Chiang Mai around noon, heading to Ang Khang.
Following the route, there are signs all the way. Drive along Route 107 and then turn onto Route 1178 at Muang Ngai intersection. When you reach Baan Arunotai, turn onto Route 1340 and continue driving until you reach Ang Khang.
Oh, I forgot to mention that I will be traveling by car.
The weather that day was pleasant and not too sunny.
I ran all the way to Arunotai House for a break.
I came across this restaurant and decided to give it a try.
The fried dumplings were incredibly delicious, and the price was reasonable, ranging from 30 to 50 baht.
After a satisfying meal, they departed from Arunotai House and continued their journey.
The majority of the landscape is dedicated to agriculture, with large trees providing a pleasing visual experience.
A short run will lead you to a popular rest stop.
The Cave Tavern itself.
This is the residence of the Field Marshal.
This is the residence of General Li Wenhuan, commander of the 93rd Division of the 3rd Army of the Kuomintang (a historical army abandoned by the KMT).
In Taiwan, the fate of those left behind is a matter of historical record. For further details, please consult historical references.
There were also restaurants, or rather taverns, and a variety of souvenirs for sale, but I forgot to take any pictures.
I brought back some honey and jiaogulan.
We continued our journey and soon arrived at another rest stop.
Red Cliff Viewpoint
Enjoy a snack of avocado drizzled with honey.
Then relax and enjoy the view.
After a while, we set off on the final leg of our journey to Ang Khang.
Finally, I have arrived at Ang Khang.
The next episode will likely feature Ang Khang.
Thank you for visiting.
