SCG Foundation Hosts Charity Concert to Support Forest Rangers
The SCG Foundation, in collaboration with the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, private organizations, and civil society groups, organized a charity concert titled "Song for Heroes: A Stage for Forest Protectors." The event aimed to unite individuals in supporting and encouraging forest rangers.
Renowned Thai artists, including Jui-Su Bunleung, Nanglen Band, Pan-Paiboonkiat Kiewkaew, Sumet & The Pang, and special guest artists New-Jiew, performed beloved songs such as "Tiew Lamai," "Palang Khong Phong Phai," "Dok Mai Nai Thi Lap Ta," "Khon Dee Mai Mee Wan Dtai," "Por Rak Nirun," "Pran Lo Neua," "Wan Nee Chan Mee Tur," and "Hero." The musical selection, curated by "Pi Sun Manoch Phuttal," aimed to convey appreciation and support for forest rangers.
Additionally, forest rangers showcased their musical talents, sharing their experiences and stories from the forests through song. All proceeds from the concert, without any deductions, were donated to the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation to purchase patrol equipment for forest rangers nationwide.
The concert was held at the KBank Siam Pic-Ganesha Theatre on the 7th floor of Siam Square One. In addition to the concert, the event also featured an auction of cherished items from artists and celebrities who volunteer for forest conservation, such as "Note Watcharabul Liewsuwan", "Check Suthipong Thamwuthi", and "Dr. Lot Pattarapol Maneeaon". They brought their most beloved items for attendees to bid on. There was also a sale of T-shirts painted by the famous cartoonist Chai Rachwatt, with four designs specially painted for this project. All proceeds went to the "HANDS FOR HEROES: Together for Forest Guardians" project.
The "Song for Heroes" concert marked the culmination of the foundation's fundraising efforts for the year. Proceeds from the event will be used to purchase patrol equipment for forest rangers. This initiative follows the successful "Paint for Heroes" and "Run for Heroes" events, which received overwhelming support from various sectors. All activities fall under the "HANDS FOR HEROES" project. Through these three events, a total of 2,129,665 baht has been raised. This sum will be used to purchase essential patrol equipment for forest rangers in 18 areas and 153 units across the country, including the Department of Wildlife Conservation, the National Park Office, and the Forest Fire Prevention and Suppression Bureau. This support aims to enhance the efficiency of forest rangers in their crucial role of protecting our natural resources.
The event also received a great opportunity as many sectors are willing to join as a network of friendly organizations to join forces to help, including Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Limited, Siam Kubota Corporation, Intouch Holdings Public Company Limited, Cordyceps Mixed Drink, Holis Brand SCG Online, Chemicals Business, SC Asset, Siam Sindhorn Co., Ltd., Doi Kham Food Products Co., Ltd., Aura Mineral Water, Black Canyon S. Khon Kaen and Katika Coconut Milk Co., Ltd. This makes the SCG Foundation and the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation feel confident that in the future we will have a network of partners to help each other work on this task. To help alleviate the burden of the forest rangers in taking care of natural resources, forests and wildlife, which will create morale and encouragement for them to continue working without having to worry about the future.
In addition to procuring patrol equipment for forest rangers, the foundation has also been continuously providing scholarships to the children of forest rangers under the Sharing the Dream Scholarship program. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded 366 scholarships. All of the foundation's activities aim to raise public awareness of the importance of forest rangers and to invite the public to join forces in supporting their work. This will also help alleviate the burden on forest rangers, allowing them to carry out their duties with peace of mind, without having to worry about their families.
Mr. Chalermchai Papata, Deputy Director-General of the National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department, expressed his gratitude to the SCG Foundation, partner organizations, and the public for their support of forest rangers and their contributions to their well-being. This support includes scholarships for the children of forest rangers and various activities to raise funds for the purchase of essential patrol equipment. This equipment is distributed to forest rangers nationwide, significantly enhancing their work efficiency. The support demonstrates the public's concern for forest rangers and motivates them to continue their dedicated efforts to protect Thailand's forests.
In addition to participating in the various activities of the project, we also invite everyone to donate to support the work of the forest guardians in the HANDS FOR HEROES project. Together, we can help the forest rangers through the Thai Panich Bank account number 468-0-71691-0, account name "Hands For Heroes by the Foundation".
