MU KO SURIN and a beautiful underwater world

Because I have friend living in Phuket and we both love snorkeling. Because this island going to close season by 15 May. Because Cullen who is a famous youtuber traveled to Ko Surin. And because me and my friend like the way he travels around Thailand, so we decided to go to Ko Surin this time. 

My friend is original from Bangkok but now she is working in Phuket. And after saw clip from this channel to Ko Surin so she invited me to stay 1 night on the island and enjoy snorkeling after long time that I travel more to the north of Thailand.

Ko Surin is in Phang Nga which we have to take a car to the pier and get on speed boat and then continue with long tail boat to the beach which want to stay. So, I booked air ticket for 6 March and stay first night with Lek in Phuket and our trip start. 

6th March

I booked afternoon flight and arrived Phuket around 5pm. 

Lek still working today so I walked from her place to the old town of Phuket and saw lots of changes.

Walking is one of my favorite activities. So, I walk along the old town road and passed the beautiful House,Blue Elephant Restaurant

I came to Phuket last year around Jun but now there are many new shops, cafe, restaurant, hostels open up which made Phuket town become livelier than my visit last time.

 Old buildings still there while new renovated building also opened.

Every time when I visit this area. I never miss this ice-cream shop

After got ice-cream I continue walking along the old street

Now more and more beautiful cafe and restaurant 

I was waiting for Lek and we finally met after 2 years since she moved to work in Phuket

We were walking and finding the restaurant for dinner

Lek suggested one restaurant around end of the street and on the way we found this nice graffiti

And finally, we found one small but look nice restaurant. The name is Yi-Ja on Krabi Road

They served variety of menu

I never try this menu before, but Lek likes it so much. So, she ordered for me to try

I ordered this menu and it so delicious

And this one recommended by restaurant

All food is so good 

Moreover, it was sunset time

Even we cannot see the sun set but the sky looks so beautiful

We spent time at restaurant enjoy food and talk then we walk back to Lek's place, and we end up the day with ice-cream again

The first day gone and we slept early because driver will pick up us at 4am. So, we have to wake up at 3am

7th March

Driver was on time, and we were the first customer he picks up this morning before picking up another 4 persons at difference place and heading to the pier in Kuraburi

We did not see sun set yesterday but today we can see beautiful sun rise

And you may not believe, yes along the road around 5 kms full of mist

Finally, we arrived the pier and check in. Prepare for get on the local truck to the pier for speed boat

The boat took around 1 hour

The sea condition is good today

We arrived the island and changed to long tail boat

And took another 20 minutes to MAI NGAM BEACH

Staff take care luggage for tourist but we both have only small backpack, so we take care by ourselves

From the long tail boat pier. We continue on walk around 10 minutes to check in and get our tent for staying one night

Lek had a National Park passport but long time ago. Now this passport become popular again because Cullen. We got first National Passport together and got first stamp from Mu Ko Surin National Park

So, I think I will keep this passport and will bring it with me and get stamp. Moreover, I will get all friend who join on that trip sign for memory. When we are old and look at the passport, we can recall memory together. And here we are 2 for the first stamp

Besides of signature we will also draw an animal in that park. Mine one is jelly fish (if you can see it) and Lek is scaly giant clam. 

Actually, National Park staff asked us to teach her draw a sea animal as she wants to draw it like staff in other park did. And you can imagine how good me and Lek for drawing here

Our tent is in 2nd row but not too far from the beach. After keep luggage in the tent, we changed cloth to be swimming suit and prepare for first snorkeling in the afternoon which start around 1pm

We were enjoying walking on the beach and take photos

And around 1250pm we walked to the counter for snorkeling. It was very funny when we both were ready in swimming suite and equipment for snorkeling but when we arrived at the counter they are fully booked. We did not book this tour since we arrived, and they have limited seat on the boat. 

So, we changed our plan and booked snorkeling tour for next day morning. And today we borrowed equipment and go snorkeling Infront of our tent

And walk along the mangrove forest

So, our first snorkeling was there. The water was not so clear, but we saw some fish 

This beach is so beautiful, so we keep taking lots of photos

Actually,not only me and Lek enjoy swimming and snorkeling at the beach Infront of our tent. But there is other tourist enjoy activities in the same area as well

After snorkeling and shower, we walked to the pier to see sun set light

And then walk back to restaurant, we ready for dinner. I like this menu, we call Kaeng Som. Spice and sour and the fish is fresh

And this is Lek's favorite menu

Simple food, good taste and cheap. After dinner, I checked email and clear some works. Internet signal is good here. We booked normal tent without air-con so it hot in the night but anyway we slept quite well.

8th March

I woke up early morning as I want to see sun rise (at least the light) 

The sea in the morning is so peaceful

Clean beach

Today we prepared early and arrive the counter on time

Tour start around 9am

Brighten sky today

Long tail boat left the pier to the the first snorkeling spot

The water is so clean and clear

We do not have any photos of the first or coral reef as we did not bring waterproov bag but all beutiful was kept in our memories.

The boat continue to 2nd snorkeling spot where there are more and variety coral reef but less fish. Hoewver, both site are beautiful

Tour finished around 11am and we returned to the pier and prepared for check out

While having lunch, we found new friend with his watermelon

The long tail boat left the pier around 1.30pm and transferred us to speed boat

And then around 2 hours we arrived the pier on mainland. We had a short relax and then continue get on the van for transfer back to Phuket

Arrive to Phuket late evening. We left all stuff in Lek's room and then left for dinner

It was beautiful moon, so I took this shot. There was a food festival not far from Lek's place, so we decided to go there for our dinner

We were enjoying dinner by the sea and then get taxi back to Lek's place. Lek has appointment on Sunday, so she left her room early. I woke up and prepare to leave. My flight is late evening. I left some souvenir for Lek's we bought this cookie from Phuket to Ko Surin and then took it back to Phuket

Before going to Airport I stopped by at a nice spa Divana Anda

Lek suggested this spa for me and as it is on the way to airport, so I tried

The place looks so nice, and staff welcome so friendly

Especially, the therapist is professional

Because I swam a lot at Ko Surin so it was so good to have oil massage with hot stone to release muscle. After that, it was time to go to airport and my trip to Koh Surin completed

 When you have time, or even you do not have time just try to make it and go simple way even it was short time, but you can enjoy with small thing during the trip and get big memories, always. And I will come again for sure to Koh Surin.
