🇳🇴 If you love the Northern Lights, you can't miss travelling to Norway in winter — this is when the aurora shows up at its clearest 🇳🇴

This time we travelled for a full 18 days without visiting any other country — the plan was to cover Norway properly. We also rented a car to sleep in at Lofoten, partly for the atmosphere and partly to save on hotel costs. You can park wherever you like and get 100% natural views.

If you're thinking of flying out during this season, I'd recommend starting your route in OSLO, the capital of Norway, with Thai Airways, Thailand's Full Service airline. The flight leaves late at night and arrives in the morning, so you can head straight out sightseeing. This time we took a connecting flight down to Lofoten and started from the far north first — that's honestly the best way to do it.

Explore Norway with Thai Airways, Thailand's full-service airline known for its service and comfort, offering direct flights from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) to Oslo (OSL). The timing works out great — you travel overnight and arrive in the morning, so you can start exploring right away and plan your trip conveniently while making the most of your time.
For Royal Orchid Plus members, you can use the Royal Orchid Lounge to relax before departure, with food and drinks served so you can start your journey feeling refreshed and at ease.

For this trip, we took a domestic connecting flight from Oslo to the Lofoten Islands, an archipelago made up of many islands linked together by Norway's arched bridges.
- Reine - the village with the most beautiful views in Lofoten, with a hiking spot that travellers from all over the world come for (closed in November)

- Sakrisøy – the yellow-house check-in spot, with a hugely popular restaurant. Don't miss the fresh salmon and the fish soup.

- Hamnøy – the check-in photo spot of Lofoten that everyone has to visit: red houses against snow-covered mountains

- Nusfjord - a fishing village that has kept its traditional character better than anywhere else (there's an entry fee for the village)

- Henningsvær – the most beautiful football pitch surrounded by water in the world

- Hauklandstranda, a photo spot with a white sand beach and snow-capped mountains as the backdrop

- Svolvær, home to Vågan Church, one of Norway's old wooden churches, an outlet for winter gear, and some seriously gorgeous camper van parking spots

- Leknes has a small airport for anyone flying in, connecting from Bodø

- Fredvang Bridges – the photo spot for Norway's iconic arched bridges

Bergen, the city of rain and the second largest in Norway, surrounded by seven mountains, with a North Sea fish market and World Heritage houses right in the city centre. People come here to ride the romantic Bergen–Flåm railway.
- Stroll through the Bryggen World Heritage quarter

- Taste fresh seafood straight from the North Sea at the Fish Market

- Ride the romantic Flåmsbana railway to see Norway in a Nutshell and take in Nærøyfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage site

Odda, a resort town for anyone who wants to go hiking
- Trek the Troll's Tongue (Trolltunga) trail — note that it closes towards the end of the year

Stavanger, a lovely Norwegian city with a fairly large Thai community and a stylish pedestrian street
- The Three Swords Monument

The Pulpit Rock hiking spot (closed in winter)
Oslo, the capital of Norway
- Oslo Opera House

- Street Art Oslo

- Soak in a floating sauna and do a Norwegian-style ice bath — heat up until you're dripping with sweat, then run and jump into the sea in front of the Opera House
