I have been to Koh Yao Yai once with tour program for 2-3 hours...But this time is different, I stay over night at Koh Yao Yai village and explore the island that makes me fall in love with it.

Taking speed boat from Bang Rong Pier to Koh Yao Yai; there is a boat departure every 45 minutes. you can find more information here: http://www.kohyaochukit.com/thai/location.html

Speed boat at Bang Rong Pier

If you go by car, you have to leave your car here (100 baht per day) and continue by boat.

It takes about 30 minutes by speed boat with 200 baht fee per person. There is also long tail boat which takes 1.30 hours at 150 baht per person. (I would suggest you to go by speed boat it is mush more convenience)

Arriving to Koh Yao Yai, resort staff comes to pick me up and we have to pay 100 baht for pick up fee. Due to it is quite a long distant.

You can see the beautiful view of Phungnga Bay Islands from here that I think it is a signature of Koh Yao Yai.


Koh Yao Yai Village is located at the beach where you can see Phungnga Bay Islands and some islands of Krabi. The atmosphere of the resort is very relaxing, surrounding by trees and local plants which makes it shady and rice field makes it different.

It is such a good place for relaxing


Lunch time...

Club sandwich and tuna sandwich at acceptable price.

80% of the guests are foreigners who like sunbath and hot weather in a peaceful atmosphere.

There are beach chairs provided at the beachfront.


You can swimming in the sea when the high tide only...


In the evening, it is low tide period and very windy.


I like view point near the restaurant, I think it is more beautiful and much more romantic in the evening.

We have Thai Food for diner, it is about the same price at Lunch (we were intent to eat and forgot about photos hahahaha)

Sunrise in the morning...Here is very suitable for relaxing and get away from busyness.


Breakfast buffet line is okay but no pork menu (Because people here are Muslim)


There are many activities that we can do on Koh Yao Yai such as biking around the island. Regretfully, I have limited of time so I do not have time to go.

Running out of time...

Over all, I would say that Koh Yao Yai Village is one of the resorts that is really a good place for relaxing and get away from busyness. I am wondering where have I been why I did not know this resort.

Conclusion

- Peaceful, high privacy and nice atmosphere

- Nice and Kind staffs

- Comfortable room with wide space

But

- Inconvenient transportation as we have to take speed boat and pick up car to the resort which all have expenses

- Difficult to travel to other places on Koh Yao Yai

- Cannot swim in the sea especially during low tide
