We travel with Nok Air for a one day trip to a slow season in Ranong. Nok Air takes us to Ranong safely with a comfortable price. When you are flying with Nok X-tra, you also get a 20 kg baggage too.

As soon as we arrive at the counter for checking in and loading our bag, we met with smiles and good services. Immediately, it reassures us that we are going to have a happy journey.

For non-baggage loading passenger, you can choose seats in advance and check in via Mobile Application Nok Air which is very convenient. On board, we can take 7 kg bag with us and enjoy a wider seat.

01 : Roti Nissara
We arrive Ranong at 7.30 a.m. The driver is waiting to pick us up from the airport and takes us for breakfast. It is only 15 minutes and we already arrive at Roti Nissara.

01 : Roti Nissara
This is a popular shop that everyone would stop by. The shop opens from08.00-13.00. My tip to you is that, you should come early as there'll be a big crowd and the food could be out. Roti here is inexpensive, the normal one is 10 THB and 15 THB when adding an egg. The recommended dish is Salad, it is a delicious 40 THB. Roti pizza is great too, offering in the same price.

02 : Wat Ban Ngao
From Roti Nissara, our next destination is a peaceful and shady temple.

The stairs are beautifully decorated with emerald green naga.

02 : Wat Ban Ngao
Inside the temple enshrines Luang Pho Tin Which is the principal Buddha statue made of tin and is the largest tin Buddha statue in the world.

02 : Wat Ban Ngao
After the Ubosot, there's a 300 steps stairs up where we can see the mountain view. Of course, I'm not going to miss it too. However, on the way up, it is raining and the sky is not open so we didn't get to enjoy the view up there.

03 : Namtok Ngao National Park
Namtok Ngao National Park is not far from Ban Ngao Waterfall, which is only 10 minutes further. Inside the park, there're nature trail and waterfall trail too. In case you would like to tent here, there's also such a service available too. The national park entrance fee is 20 THB each and the car entrance fee is 30 THB.

03 : Namtok Ngao National Park
On the way to the waterfall, there's a small bridge crossing the stream below.

03 : Namtok Ngao National Park
The best time to enjoy the waterfall is June because there'll be lots of water. And if we are lucky, we will get to see Panda Crab too. It is a crab that is so difficult to find and it was first found in Namtok Ngao National Park.

03 : Namtok Ngao National Park
After a long walk, we can stop to relax near the stream and get refreshed with Nok drinking water. This is one of many collections of Nok drinking water. The pattern on the bottle changes every month, don't forget to come and enjoy it together :)

03 : Namtok Ngao National Park
Tarzan house is located inside the national park. It looks so livable. It's such a pity that I do a one day trip, otherwise, I would enjoy a sky full of stars in the midst of nature at night for sure. In addition, there's also a viewpoint for Phu Khao Ya nearby, we need to walk from the main road for about 300 meters.

Let's continue to Phu Khao Ya.

04 : Phu Khao Ya
Phu Khao Ya is another must-not-miss location. It would certainly be a great miss if you fail to visit this highlight of taking grass mountain with wooden two-row taxi.

04 : Phu Khao Ya
It is free to visit this grass mountain. You can travel here all year round. If visiting during the rainy season, from May to October, the mountain view is green. But if coming in the dry season, from November to April, the grass mountain would be golden yellow. And it could be a bit too warm if visiting in the morning or afternoon, so I would suggest you to visit here in the evening where the wind blows comfortably. You can also come to camp for a small picnic too, but please do not forget to help keep it clean as well.

04 : Phu Khao Ya
I recommend you to look for wooden two-row taxi to hire when traveling to Ranong. The hire comes with a driver which is very convenient. We get to enjoy the view on both sides and take cool pose with this chic car. The hire rate is not expensive. It is 1,500 THB for the entire day including everything. We can simply tell the driver of where we would like to go. Each car can accompany 10 people. So if you are traveling in group, the price is very money worth value.

05 : Porn Rung Hot Spring
It is located inside the Namtok Ngao National Park. If you already paid the national park entrance fee, simply show your ticket to the staff and you won't have to pay again. Porn Rung Hot Spring has a very clear water. The temperature is around 35 - 40 degrees Celsius. There's also a stream nearby for us to swim.

05 : Porn Rung Hot Spring
You can either soak the body or just the feet in the water. People are quite interested in this activity because in addition to feel relieve from some ashes, it is also a good way to relax in the nature with the family.

06 : Panyabun Waterfall, Lam Nam Kraburi National Park
Panyabun waterfall is another beautiful waterfalls of Ranong. The ground floor has water fallen all year round. You can also walk and learn along the nature trail to the third layer. However, it was raining hard during the day we visited so the staff didn't allow us to walk up for the safety reason. We only get to enjoy the atmosphere on the ground floor. The entrance fee is 20 THB each.

07: A Century-Old Tian Sue House
Here is another location for chic and cool photos. Apart from many cool angles for photography, we also get to learn about the lifestyle of important people in Ranong.

07: A Century-Old Tian Sue House

The house is full of atmosphere and the sense of Chinese, for architecture and appliances. Although this two storey wooden house is already a century-old, it is kept in a good condition.

07: A Century-Old Tian Sue House

A Century-Old Tian Sue House is located near the Ranong Provincial Court. It opens daily from 9.00-16.00, free admission. There's also a rental service for Chinese costume for photography.

The atmosphere of Ranong is filled with old buildings and its colorful and unique two-row red wooden taxi at your service.

08 : Rattanarangsan Palace (Replica)
Rattanarangsan Palace (Replica) is a palace built to commemorate the three kings who had stayed in Ranong, namely, King Rama 5, 6, and 7. Inside the palace displays different things in different rooms and the tourists are allowed to visit in specific round. When we visited, the staff told us that the last round to visit the palace has already passed, so we missed it, so sad. We can only enjoy the beauty of the palace from the outside.

08 : Rattanarangsan Palace (Replica)
The courtyard of the palace opens daily from 05.00-21.00, the indoor area opens Wed-Sun, from 9.10-16.00. It closes on Mondays and Tuesdays. The entrance fee is 50 THB.

09 : Kun Lin Restaurant
It is a famous restaurant of Ranong, located close to Raksawarin Hot Spring. There is a distinctive style of decoration which is striking and has a delicious taste of Thai food. Therefore, there're a lot of people coming to this restaurant.
