Hello everyone, who has stumbled upon my travelogue. This trip came about because it was my wife's birthday.
We have been traveling to Chiang Mai to celebrate her birthday for the 4th year in a row. Each visit to Chiang Mai has never disappointed me.
Even though I come every year, I never get bored. There are rapid changes. Every time I come, I am excited. This trip, I will take you all to visit
Doi Inthanon and follow the footsteps of the drama "Following Love Back to the Heart" at Khun Wang. I would also like to recommend a new accommodation, The Core Hotel Chiang Mai.
which is located in the heart of the city and take you to try the food at Gala. To top it off with Roti Gu. All in all, the damage per person is 3500+ baht.
I will tell you in parts. It may not be continuous from some, but at the end, I will write a plan for my friends.
to keep as information in case it is a little useful.

Doi Inthanon National Park

Travel

I left Bangkok around 9 pm, following Google Maps. I stopped for a break and dinner in Tak. Google Maps offered two routes: the first, 70 km shorter, passed through the districts of Thaen, Li, and Chom Thong. I strongly advise against taking this route. The road is in poor condition, rough, and very isolated. The stretch through the mountains is almost 40 km of steep slopes and hills. I was wide awake after driving that stretch, even though I had been feeling sleepy before. I recommend taking the route via Lampang, Lamphun, Chiang Mai, and Chom Thong instead, even though it's longer. It's a much more comfortable drive. As for driving up to the top of the mountain, start driving no earlier than 4 am. If you go later, you might encounter heavy traffic, making the drive inconvenient. I started driving at 4 am, and there were only three cars in total, with no oncoming traffic. Head to the top of the mountain first, as the Nophamethinidon and Nophaphonphumisiri pagodas open at 8 am. If you don't want to go to the top, there's a helicopter landing pad a little further up from the main pagoda. You can park your car there and watch the sunrise.

We arrived at the top of the mountain around 5 am.

Shine with the stars

The first light of the day has arrived.

The highest point in Siam

It is the northernmost and highest point of Thailand. The distance from the pagoda to the highest point is a steep slope, about 5 km. The road will end at the observatory. There is a parking lot that can accommodate about 50 cars. As for walking up to take a picture with the sign of the highest point of Siam, walk from the parking lot for about 50 meters. There are 2 ways to go up. The day I went, the temperature was 5 degrees Celsius. The wind was very cold. It is advisable to prepare for the cold weather. Wear warm clothes, the more layers the better. Gloves, socks, scarves, and hats must be ready. If you don't prepare, I'm sure your trip will not be fun. Especially people from Bangkok should prepare because we live in hot weather. And then go to meet the very cold weather will make you uncomfortable for sure. I came back with a runny nose.

Viewpoint at Km.41

Approximately 5 km from the highest point in Siam, the viewpoint will be on your left hand side. Please do not park there. Oh, I forgot to mention one more thing on the way down.

At kilometer 42, there will be tourist cars parked on both sides of the road. No doubt, they are going down to take pictures of the frost.

After about 1 km from that point, you will reach the viewpoint. Please turn right and park on the uphill side. Parking is not allowed on the downhill side. If you park there, an officer will come and chase you away.

If you're feeling energetic, you can park at the helicopter landing pad. It's a bit of a walk, but it's worth it for the 15-minute photo op. After that, head down to the next stop.

Be careful when crossing the road at this point. It is also not advisable to take photos in the middle of the road. I have seen some tourists do this, and I am worried about accidents.

The wind was very strong on the day I went, so there was no ice water.

Let's take a look at the viewpoint. It's beautiful.

Unable to resist, the wife came down to take some pictures.

It would be amazing to have something hot to eat.

Drive down the hill a bit and you will find the helicopter landing pad. Mostly only vans and yellow cars are parked there waiting for tourists.

Walk a little from the parking lot, you will see this view.

Nophamethinidon and Nophaphonphumisiri pagodas

Coming down from viewpoint 41, the entrance and parking lot will be on the right-hand side of the uphill lane. You can turn your car in and park inside. Unless the inside is full.

The officer will tell you to park outside. Be careful of the cars coming up, as they are using a lot of speed and force to climb the hill.

The pagoda is located on both sides. There is an escalator to go up and there are flowers to worship. Put money in the box according to your faith. As for going down, you have to walk down.

I will not explain my history because the information is not solid. Let's talk about it in general. There are many spots for taking pictures, both flowers and the view behind.

It's a mountain range and the top is very windy. You should be prepared to fight the cold wind. I spent about 1 hour here.

I recommend it.

If you want to see the image of the Maha That Pagoda with the mountain range and beautiful sky in the background, look for the sign "Long Live the King". There will be a small path for you to walk up. Please be careful as the path is steep and narrow.

If you go up, you will get this format.

Let's come down and take photos from below like normal people, haha. 55

Khun Wang Agricultural Station

Drive down the road and look for the sign for Khun Khlang Village or Khun Wang Agricultural Station. The distance from the entrance to the station is about 15 km. The road is quite narrow and winding, with steep slopes. There is a section where road construction is underway, so be careful. It's better to drive slowly and not rush, as you can spend the whole day here. The weather is cool and comfortable, even when it's sunny. When you reach the station, it's recommended to park your car inside. If it's full, park on the left side near the shops. Do not park on the right side under any circumstances, as it is a steep slope and cars often get damaged. Inside, there are restaurants, cafes, and a camping area. I don't know where to contact for accommodation. Walk down the hill and you will find the short Phaya Sua Krong Tunnel. You have to walk another 400 meters. On the left side, there is a pink tunnel where Nadech and Mew filmed the drama "Following Love Back to the Heart". The tunnel is about 4-500 meters long and has a slight incline. Take as many photos as you like here, it's beautiful! When I went on January 29, 2016, the flowers were not yet in full bloom. I missed the Chinese New Year period when they would be at their peak. I highly recommend visiting this place, it's stunning! I spent a long time here, about 2 hours, eating lunch and buying strawberries. The restaurant outside is delicious, especially the stir-fried vegetables, as the vegetables are very fresh. I ordered from the restaurant near the Khao Kha Jiew shop and had stir-fried mixed vegetables and stir-fried Sayote or Maew shoots, two plates of rice, and a soft drink. The total was 135 baht. It was the most delicious and memorable meal I had. As for strawberries, I bought small ones from here for 140 baht per kilogram. If you want to eat them right away, buy the large ones for 250 baht per kilogram. They are very sweet and juicy because they are ripe on the tree. I don't recommend buying them and keeping them for several days, as they spoil quickly. If you want to buy them to take home, buy a box for 1100 baht. You can only bargain down to this price because the boxes contain fresh, new strawberries. Choose small ones and buy some white strawberries. By the time you arrive in Bangkok, they will be red and ready to eat. After that, I headed straight to my accommodation. I haven't slept since last night. I forgot to mention that I took the Chiang Mai-Hang Dong route. The road was very good at first, but after a while, it narrowed to two lanes. Drive carefully. The advantage of this route is that it leads to the irrigation canal road, which makes it convenient to get anywhere.

I don't know how to say this, but please don't bend the branches or pluck the flowers to take pictures with them. We all know this, but some people still do it. Good tourists should follow the rules.

The pink color can be seen from the entrance.

From the point where you see the cherry blossoms, walk about 300 meters more and you will find the white tiger flower tree.

After encountering the white tiger, walk another 200 meters and you will find what you are looking for.

There are more people below, so I suggest you walk to the top where there are fewer people.

Looking up from below, you can see that there are hardly any people.

Let's take a closer look at the Dok Phaya Sua Krong flowers.

Take a step back and look at it from a distance.

Overall.

Ending with this picture with the tiger king and the leopard king.

The walk back up the hill was very tiring. Let's go find something to eat at the market. How about stir-fried vegetables?

Stir-fried Sayote or Chayote Shoots

Now that we're full, let's go find some souvenirs.

Small strawberries, bought them white in color, when they arrived in Bangkok, they were just the right shade of red. 140 baht per kilogram.

Let's take a look at the big ones. Red big ones are 250 baht per kilogram, while white big ones are 380 baht per kilogram.

The big red durian will be sweeter than the big white one. I bought a big white one to eat in Bangkok and it tasted a bit sour.

Farewell, Khun Wung, with this picture.

The Core Hotel, Chiang Mai

Location

This newly opened hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Chiang Mai. It is easy to get to Doi Suthep, Chiang Mai Zoo, or even outside the city. It is also next to Kad Marint, a shopping center in front of CMU, Maya Department Store, Think Park, or Nimmanhaemin Road, which has a wide variety of restaurants and attractions. It can be said that it is a very good location.

Room

The hotel is newly opened, the furniture and appliances are still very clean. There are many pillows, both soft and firm. There is also a small pillow with a tie-dye pattern. There are 4 types of rooms: Deluxe Single Bed, Deluxe Double Bed, Deluxe Triple Bed, and Family Room. The last type is the Family Room, which is a combination of a Deluxe Single Bed and a Deluxe Double Bed with a living room in between. So the room is very large. There are a total of 56 rooms. Most of them are Deluxe Single and Double Beds. Family rooms are only available on the 2nd and 4th floors. Personally, I prefer the Family Room. If you come back with your family, I highly recommend it. As for the room I stayed in, it was a Deluxe Single Bed. The room is quite large. It has a working desk, a refrigerator, a safe, and a balcony outside. Overall, I think it's very good value for money. The real highlight is the bed. It's very soft because there is an extra mattress, so it's very comfortable to sleep on. The bathroom is the only thing that bothers me. It's a bit small. When I soap up, my arm hits the glass, so I have to be careful not to bump into it. If you are a big person, you may have problems. The water pressure is strong and warm, but it takes a while because it is hot water from the central system. Be careful not to adjust it to the maximum when you take a shower. Adjust it slowly to keep the temperature constant, and then take a shower. Another thing I like is the free mini-bar. There are 2 bottles of water, 2 cans of Est. I personally like to drink soda, so I'm very happy.

The facilities are complete.

The bed is very comfortable to sleep on.

Plenty of pillows to choose from, both soft and firm.

May I take a picture of the family room's sitting area?

Lobby

In a nutshell, this place is perfect for taking pictures! It has a hipster vibe, and the lobby, although not very spacious, is well-designed and decorated. Despite its limited space, it manages to create a variety of unique spots, including a photo backdrop, a work desk, and a swing. These three spots are so iconic that anyone who sees a picture taken there will instantly recognize them. I even gave them nicknames: the "Pink Horse" for the photo backdrop, the "Dream Swing" for the swing, and the "Worker's Desk" for the work desk. (They don't actually have these names, I just made them up!) Girls who stay here are sure to get plenty of beautiful photos to post on social media. The lobby also has a vending machine with a wide selection of soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.

Swimming pool

The pool is not very wide, but it looks very good because it has a white swan as the main attraction of the pool. During this time, it must be the most relaxing time ever. The weather is cold, so no one is swimming. But if it's hot, it must be very popular. Especially during Songkran, after playing water.

You can continue swimming. The disadvantage of the pool is probably the lack of privacy, as it is close to the lobby and people can walk by on both sides. You might feel embarrassed while playing, but the hotel has placed trees to block the view, which helps to some extent. However, the other side that is next to the bathroom is still open. It would be great if this problem could be solved.

The white swan is a prominent item.

Restaurant

For me, this is the highlight of my stay. I especially like this part. Firstly, the atmosphere is excellent, and the food is delicious. There are tables and sunken pits to choose from, and you can see the Doi Suthep view. Secondly, there is a northern Thai breakfast, which I have never encountered before in a hotel in the north. I found it here for the first time. I was delighted to have Nam Prik Ong, Gaeng Hang Lay, Khao Kha Moo, and Sai Oua. When you come to the north, you must try northern Thai food! I asked the staff, and they said that the menu will change according to the season. In February, it will change to dim sum. Anyway, try asking them if there will be northern Thai food again. As for other food, there is a salad bar, fried rice, rice porridge, fried eggs, ham, sausages, fruit juice, tea, and coffee. Another highlight is that the staff is very friendly, polite, and handsome. Haha!

Lunch room

This evening's dinner is the best I've ever had.

Cool weather, chilling out comfortably, and no mosquitoes to bother you.

Inside the restaurant

It's better to sit outside and enjoy the cool breeze. Let's order something to eat.

It's better to move to sit on the chair above. See the light, the color looks fun.

Apple juice is here.

After sitting for a while, I went out to eat at the Gala restaurant.

On the other side of the restaurant, there is a chill-out area for you to relax in.

Breakfast with the morning atmosphere of Chiang Mai

The restaurant opens at 6:30 AM. Hurry up and take photos before it gets crowded. Food line

I was very impressed with the food here. They even had northern Thai food, which made me very happy.

The salad bar has a limited selection of vegetables, but they are constantly being refilled.

Cereal reminds me of my daughter. She loves it so much.

The fruits include watermelon, pineapple, and cantaloupe. This section should also include seasonal fruits such as strawberries or longan.

Drinks are available hot or cold, including tea, coffee, and fruit juice.

Let's take a look at the food that was served.

Enjoy your meal in the pit. If you want to sit here, hurry up. The table is very popular.

After eating, I sat down to digest my food and enjoy the warm, gentle sunshine.

Translation:

Before returning to take another photo at the restaurant.

Parking lot

This might be a disadvantage of this place because there is limited parking space. There are 15 parking spaces in front of the hotel and the side of Kad Maerin is 300 meters away. I drove from Inthanon and didn't go anywhere. I rented a motorbike, which is more convenient. Traffic in Chiang Mai is no joke, sometimes even worse than Bangkok. When I go somewhere, I recommend renting a motorbike or a bicycle, which is available for rent. As for motorbikes, the rental fee is 250 baht per day. If you go to Nimmanhaemin, it takes about 15 minutes by motorbike and about an hour by car. Plus, finding a parking space is very difficult. But at least the hotel has parking spaces. Some hotels in big cities don't even have parking spaces.

Service

The staff at the counter were very helpful. They helped me with renting a motorbike, suggested places to visit, took pictures for me, and were always smiling.

The service was like I was a guest who came to stay, there was no special attention at all. This made me feel comfortable taking pictures.

Sometimes I feel bad that someone has to be there to look after me, so that I can take photos freely.

Amenities and Overview

There is another fitness center in the building, which I will not mention as I did not use it. Let's talk about the symbols of this place, which are my Nakhorn Ping horse and the white sheets that cover the building, similar to the Maya department store. Personally, I think the designer of this place is very talented, including the executives who dared to invest in making the L-shaped rectangular building stand out. Imagine if there were no sheets covering it, it would just be an ordinary hotel building. Another part of the design that I really like is the dining room, which has a view of Doi Suthep and faces the right direction. They were also able to create a small lobby with many beautiful photo spots. The swimming pool also uses white swans as a selling point, which is a great idea. And most importantly, it is very convenient to get around, no matter where you want to go. So I would definitely recommend this place for young people and couples. It is worth staying here if you like the lights, sounds, and nightlife of the market, or if you are looking for food, natural attractions, and most importantly, free bicycles! I repeat, free!!!

The Gallae Shop

I recommend this restaurant only for taking pictures in the evening with the flowers and the reservoir. I don't think the food tastes good. The taste is very ordinary. The good thing is the flower garden and it's not far away. If you come here, order beer with some small snacks. If you want to eat a lot, I think Riverside restaurant tastes much better.

The flower garden is very beautiful, especially the tulips.

The food was very ordinary. The fried sea bass with herbs was

Roti Gulai

This is a fusion roti restaurant that adapts roti to other types of food. I ordered the banana and ice cream roti and the tissue roti. I didn't take a picture of the shredded roti. Personally, I think the taste is average, but the亮点is the novelty and creativity. The service is fast. If you pass by Nimmanha, try it out.
