The Capital by Water Library

The Capital by Water Library is another restaurant in the Water Library group that has expanded its business to attract new customer groups. This restaurant focuses on steaks, offering a variety of options including pork, beef, shrimp, and fish. The chefs carefully select high-quality ingredients to serve the restaurant's customers.

The restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of the Empire Tower building, at the intersection of Sathorn Tai Road and Narathiwas Road. The restaurant is decorated to resemble a New York bank, with a dark, black, and stately color scheme. Some parts of the restaurant are decorated to look like customer safes in a bank, and there is a reception room for 10 people with a giant safe door. The view from this room is of the BTS and BRT connection, which is one of the most popular places in the country for filming commercials.

The meal began with a refreshing Pierre Darcys Brut champagne, which tasted like sweet and slightly sour fruit. It was a great starter.

Next up is Ciabatta with hand churned butter (150 baht). It's a homemade cranberry butter with yuzu mixed in. It's served with freshly baked bread that's fragrant, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The cranberry butter itself would also be delicious with scones.

Appetiser: The Baby cos salad (330 baht) is essentially a Caesar Salad with the usual ingredients like egg yolk, Parmesan Cheese, Cheddar Cheese, and Juice. However, this version also includes anchovies, which blend well with the other components. The Baby cos lettuce used here is also organic.

Prawn cocktail (380 baht) is actually served with 3 prawns. This menu features Andaman prawns that are cooked just enough to be firm and crispy. They are served with homemade mayonnaise.

Beef carpaccio is thinly sliced beef served with a sweet and sour salsa. Seeing this menu reminds me of Japanese beef salad.

Main Course Here, the steak will be Grilled on Japanese Binchotan oak white charocoal and Hickory Wood. Starting with Wagyu Porterhouse steak 750g (3,300 baht) in the recommended menu for 2-4 people. Because it is really thick and big, it will be Wagyu beef, T-Bone from Australia, by choosing the largest cut. The side with the smaller piece will be Tenderliod, and the larger side will be Strip Loid, which is the part that exercises less. This makes it have a lot of fat. This part is considered to be the part that gets both softness and juiciness. (Some steak restaurants that serve New York Strip will also use this part) Both parts are very soft. Personally, I like this part more than the tenderloin. So I tried a lot.

Served with three types of salt: English Sea Salt, Himalayan Salt Merlot smoked salt, and Mexican chilli smoked salt with a hint of spiciness. Dip a small amount of salt to enhance the sweetness of the meat.

The rack of lamb (served as a half rack for 800 baht and a full rack for 1,600 baht) is another one of Pran's personal favorites. The lamb ribs here are imported from Australia, just like the other meats, and they have absolutely no smell. Or maybe they do have a smell, but I like it so much that I don't notice. I don't even need to use mint sauce to mask the smell. I tried savoring it for many bites, and to me, it tastes no different from beef. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, because I don't taste any of the distinctive lamb flavor.

Kurobuta pork chop 750g. For 2 people (1,950 baht) This menu comes from Pak Chong, our home. Another menu with very thick and large pieces. The black pork is very soft. Just a little salt and pepper is delicious.

Aqua pazza (1,350 baht) is a dish of white sea bass baked with white wine, olive oil, tomatoes, garlic, and other spices. The fish is white, sweet, and fresh, with a slightly sour taste. It is a light and refreshing dish.

Veggie Burger (380 baht) is a vegetarian menu. The hamburger here uses Black beans, Corn, and Quinoa. Quinoa is very beneficial. It can be used in a variety of savory and sweet dishes. It should be another healthy menu. Served with Potato Wedges and Honey Mustard Yogurt Sauce.

Braised Japanese Wagyu brisket with mushroom and carrot. Tender braised Wagyu beef with mushrooms and carrots.

The side dishes here are priced at 150 baht each. I tried the Water Library mashed potatoes, which were very smooth and creamy, typical of French cuisine. The green asparagus with butter and parsley, creamed corn with bacon and cheese, and sauteed field mushroom with shallots & parsley were all delicious. The mushrooms were fresh and flavorful.

There are two desserts to try. The first is Red velvet (290 baht). This is not a cake, but a Red Velvet Brownie with a White Chocolate Ganache base and Yogurt Sorbet in the middle. It is topped with Cream Cheese Espuma. Take a bite of the brownie first, then follow it with the other ingredients, mixing them together in your mouth. It's delicious! It's sweet, creamy, and a little bit tart.

Another must-try dish is the Apple Tart (380 baht). It's baked fresh and comes out hot, with a crispy exterior and a soft, gooey interior. Paired with homemade vanilla ice cream, it's a delightful treat.

The meal ended with a complimentary Bourbon-infused rum served on the rocks. It was quite strong, so I only had a small sip to get a taste.

The shop is open from 11:30 AM to 11:00 PM. The Set Lunch is only served from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM.

P.S. The parking fee here is 50 baht for the first hour and 100 baht for the next hour. I parked my car for a little over 4 hours. The stamp from the shop allows for 3 hours of free parking. I ended up paying 150 baht for parking. It's so expensive!
