We are one of those who are fascinated by the sea of fog.
Every year for the past 10 years, we have been traveling to the north during the late rainy season and early winter.
To see the first light of the day, to see the sea of mist that sways to and fro.
One day, a picture of someone flashed before my eyes.
And grandma said that this place is Khao Khai Nui... Phang Nga Province
It makes us feel like, "Hey!!!! People are trying to reach for things that are far away."
But forgot to look for the beautiful things that are around us ... And this trip happened unintentionally.
But I fell head over heels in love with this place...

Khai Nui Sea of Mist Viewpoint is located in Tung Maphrao Subdistrict, Thai Mueang District, Phang Nga Province.
Our journey begins in Phuket. When you enter Phang Nga province, drive on Phetkasem Road towards Khao Lak. When you reach Thung Maphrao Subdistrict, there will be a large sign indicating the way. Turn right onto Road 4240. Then keep left and drive past "Ban Fai Tham School" for about 1 kilometer. There will be a small alley with a sign. Turn left and enter the alley.
To get to this place, it is recommended to use a pickup truck.
If you are using a sedan, you will not be able to go up. (Don't try, have mercy on your car)
Because some parts of the road are very steep and there is almost no flat surface.
If you don't have a car, the Khao Khainui Tourism Community has a pick-up and drop-off service.
We will pass through a steep mountain path for almost 3 kilometers until we reach the viewpoint on the top of the mountain.
I arrived in the evening, as I mentioned, the day I traveled was not planned much.
No research, no preparation, just winging it. If there's accommodation, I'll stay, if not, I'll go back.
Let's say we're just checking out the route for now.
At the top, there is a tourist service center, but there were no officers there that day.
But there is a phone number. I don't know what it is that makes my heart not want to pick up the phone and call.
Perhaps it was because the atmosphere around that time was so beautiful that I didn't want to take my eyes off it.
The Sea of Mist Viewpoint at Khao Khai Nui
The Sea of Mist Viewpoint at Khao Khai Nui isn't just a place to see the mist. It's a magical spot that offers breathtaking views of six different things:
- Sunsets: Witness the sun dip below the horizon, painting the sky with vibrant colors.
- Sunrises: Watch the sun rise over the mountains, casting a golden glow over the landscape.
- The Andaman Sea: Gaze out at the vast expanse of the Andaman Sea, stretching as far as the eye can see.
- The Sea of Mist: Immerse yourself in the ethereal beauty of the mist, swirling around the mountain peaks.
- The Sea of Stars: On clear nights, marvel at the countless stars twinkling in the sky.
- Mountain Ranges: Admire the majestic mountain ranges, their peaks reaching towards the heavens.
This viewpoint is a true gem, offering a unique and unforgettable experience for all who visit.
And of course,
This evening, we will surely be greeted by the setting sun over the Andaman Sea.
The sun is a big ball today.
But we didn't stay up there for long. As the sun began to set,
We also started to come back down below.
The next morning, we set off before dawn.
The goal is to reach the summit by 5:30 am.
I really want to take pictures of the stars because the sky is full of them.
However, due to their limited abilities and the increasing brightness of the sky, they missed the opportunity at this point.
But there are other fun things to replace it, while the sunlight waits for the sea of fog.
Simple equipment, a flashlight from your phone, let's release our full power.
Soon, an orange light began to greet us.
And the graceful swaying of the mist has formed.
So soft and sweet
Swaying in the wind
This picture makes me fall in love with this place.
No need to wait patiently for the north once a year.
Just under an hour's drive, these images will be in front of you.
Mist and flowers are a perfect match.
Like I was born with you, whooooowwwww
Finally, they came out to greet each other in person.
The golden light that shines on the fog, you can feel the warmth.
Softness, smoothness, and delicacy
Let's take a look at the long picture to get some information. After we didn't find any information, the next morning we went to see the sea of fog. We met an officer who looked like he was delivering breakfast to the group that was camping. So we asked for some information, which is as follows:
