Sushi enthusiasts across Thailand are already buzzing about the arrival of Endo Sushi, a renowned sushi restaurant from Osaka. The news of its opening has sent social media feeds into a frenzy, leaving many wondering why this century-old establishment (founded in 1907) decided to open a branch in Thailand. Another burning question is who will be the head chef responsible for maintaining the taste and quality of this iconic sushi restaurant, ensuring it remains as delicious as its Osaka counterpart.

For those who don't know Endo Sushi, the famous Osaka restaurant, please prepare yourself at this blog first. http://wp.me/p6rcdI-F

Okay!! Let's not beat around the bush anymore. Today, we both want to take on the task of clearing up some doubts for our friends. Let's go visit the "Endo Sushi" restaurant together.

From what I understand, the Endo Sushi restaurant has opened a branch on the 2nd floor of The Taste building at the mouth of Thonglor Soi 11. As of the day I went to try it (April 1, 2016), it had been open for exactly 1 month and 1 day (according to the Japanese chef). Getting to the restaurant is very easy. You can drive yourself, take a taxi, or take the train and then a motorcycle taxi, whatever you prefer. If you drive yourself, there is some parking available, but not a lot. After you eat, you can get your parking ticket stamped at the restaurant.

The shop is open Tuesday - Sunday, closed on Mondays.

Each day will be divided into 2 time slots (if you want to see the good time as well)

Phone number: 0 2712 5211

- Morning session 11.30 AM - 2.00 PM (This session is not very crowded yet)

  • Evening session 5:30 PM - 10:30 PM (It is recommended to call and make a reservation in advance, as it is very crowded)

After we both parked the car, we took the elevator or stairs (depending on how hard we wanted to work) up to the 2nd floor. As soon as we got out of the elevator, it was on the right-hand side. The store is huge, nothing like the one in Osaka!

The restaurant is divided into three sections: the sushi bar, tables for small groups of 2-4 people, and a large room for groups. Today, E-pring and Yai Muey wanted to take photos and write a review, so we chose to sit at the sushi bar. We were practically face-to-face with the chef! 55555

The atmosphere in the restaurant is airy and comfortable. It's not crowded, so you don't have to play musical chairs anymore. I asked the staff and they told me that if you come in the morning, there are fewer people than in the evening. In fact, if you come in the evening, you have to call and make a reservation and wait in line. E-pring and Yai Muai called to ask first, so we decided to book a table for lunch instead.

But... wait a minute!!! As soon as we both saw the head chef, our doubts were immediately dispelled. The head chef was the same as the sous chef at the Osaka branch where we had eaten before!!! As soon as we met him, we immediately showed him the picture we had taken with him. Then, the atmosphere and smiles of friendship began to emerge gently.

I once asked him to take a picture with me at the Osaka branch... He told me that he liked this picture.

Fortunately, the head chef was able to speak some English, so we found out that the restaurant in Osaka is still doing well. 5555 As for the restaurant here, it belongs to a businessman who contacted Endo Sushi to buy the rights to open it in Thailand (I don't know who, but I think he saw an opportunity in the market). There was a condition that a representative from Endo Sushi in Japan had to come and control the taste standards so that they wouldn't deviate from the original. Many of the ingredients are also imported from Japan with the same standards as there. So, anyone who comes to eat can rest assured.

Let's take a look at the menu. From a quick glance, it seems to be similar to the Osaka branch, especially the popular Sushi Sets A, B, C, and D. They are all here. In addition, there is also an A La Carte sushi menu for us to choose from. There is also a Sashimi Set menu, an A La Carte sashimi menu, and other A La Carte dishes to choose from.

Starting with the history of the store

The popular Sushi Set A, B, C, and D are also available.

This is Sushi Set A La Carte (à la carte). The price is over my budget, I'll be broke. Maybe next time, haha.

To prove the taste, E-pring and Yai Muai ordered the same menu that we had eaten in Osaka to try again. To see if it would still be as delicious and melt in our mouths as before.

Order list

- Sushi Set A (Number 1) 450 Baht

- Sushi Set D (Number 4) 450 Baht

- Sashimi Set : 5 Kinds Set (Number 101) 700 Baht

- Akadashi Soup (No. 217) 150 baht per cup

- Hot green tea (free)

- Iced green tea (free)

After ordering, I sat and watched the chef meticulously mold the sushi and slice the fish. I was so engrossed that I took pictures the whole time. Yai Muey chatted with the chef as usual. It wasn't long before the food was served. So let's take a look at what it looks like.

It's served! Yay!

After trying it, I found that... Hey!! It's so delicious, it melts in your mouth, and the taste is as rich as when we tried it in Osaka. Both Set A and Set D are as impressive as ever.

The highlight of this restaurant's sushi set is the use of specially seasoned warm rice to mold the sushi. The rice texture is soft, the rice is molded firmly enough not to break easily. As for the ingredients that are sushi meat, they are very fresh.

This is Sushi Set A.

This is Sushi Set D.

For the Sashimi Set: 5 Kinds Set, I highly recommend ordering it. The salmon is fresh, delicious, and melts in your mouth (unlike the salmon at most buffets). In addition, there are various other parts of the fish and other ingredients. The tip from the Japanese chef is to eat them in order from the lightest to the darkest color.

To conclude, we have Akadashi Soup, which is a soup with clams. The taste is very rich and delicious.

Therefore, it is summarized for your information that

Endo Sushi, the first branch in Thailand (the 3rd branch in the world), tastes just as good as in Japan. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also in line with the environment. It opened near Thonglor, so the atmosphere is Thonglor style. However, I personally prefer the atmosphere of walking around the fish market and then queuing up to eat sushi at the old, small shop in the Osaka branch. It gives a magical feeling and has a good story. But for those who miss Endo Sushi but don't have time to fly to Japan (or want to save travel expenses), I recommend visiting it once. There are not many good quality sushi restaurants in our country, especially those with a long history and reputation like this. There are so few that you can count them on your fingers.

The menu we ordered was delicious and just the right amount of food.

The sauce is brushed with a jar of pickled ginger, a unique feature of the restaurant.

Before leaving, we took a picture with the head chef as usual. Hehe (he was kind enough to give us a cloth bag too).

Here is the summary of the food cost for this meal.
