I have been hiking in the forest before, both Phu Kradueng and Doi Luang Chiang Dao. I thought it wouldn't be that difficult to come here.

But when I arrived and actually experienced it, "Pha Hin Goob" made me forget all the difficulties of the mountains I had been to.

If you talk about the difficulty of conquering Pha Hin Goob??? How difficult is it??? Hehehe…. I don't know either!!!

Before the trip, contact the officer for reservation at 084-864-9357 (Mr. Decha).
The officer is 200 baht / person, the porter is 1000 baht / person.
As for me, I don't have enough budget, so I don't hire anyone. I carry it myself, a 5 kg backpack and old sneakers.

Equipment to bring: -

1. Sneakers / Hiking boots

2. Leech socks (This is very important, I have encountered it myself) / Insect and leech repellent

3. Hat or headscarf / Flashlight / Camera / Power bank / Raincoat

4. Wet wipes, bottled water, and personal belongings

5. Ready-to-eat food (no instant noodles) Grilled pork / Sticky rice / Fried chicken / Bread / Sponsor

[ DAY 1 ]

I made an appointment with Uncle Chaow to pick me up at 6:30 AM in front of the hotel. I needed to allow time to buy supplies for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including breakfast on the Koo B rock face. There were already three female companions on the car, who seemed to be from Bangkok. After we finished preparing the supplies, Uncle Chaow took us to have pork blood soup to fill our stomachs before the trip. It was time to go. Uncle Chaow said it would take about 45 minutes. We picked up three more companions at the head of the unit's house and then traveled to the Thung Phel Forest Protection Unit. I left anything unnecessary with Uncle Chaow.

Taking a picture with the sign while waiting for the officer.

Backpack 5 kg with old sneakers 1 pair

Around 9:30 AM, it's time to depart. The entrance is located behind the unit.

The first part of the trail is a humid rainforest with lots of leeches. Be careful of the thorns from the custard apple trees as you walk. Once you get past the leeches, you'll encounter a level 3 difficulty trail, which means it's a bit steep, moderately steep, and extremely steep (damn steep). When I went, it was raining and the leeches were abundant. Many of us got bitten, and I got one on my finger (I screamed like a little girl). The 2-3 kilometer stretch was the most discouraging part because the trail was so steep.

During this uphill climb, I took as many pictures as I could, because on the way down, I probably won't have the energy to take any. Okay, I'm ready, let's go!!!!

The first part of the walk is relatively easy, with a flat path that gradually becomes steeper. (Be careful of thorns from the custard apple trees and slugs that may be looking for us. They scattered quickly.)

It's so hot and tiring on the way. I can't help but think of the song "What am I doing here?". #Why did I leave my comfortable home to suffer like this???

After walking for about 1 hour, covering a distance of about 3 kilometers,
I arrived at the first major rest stop (the first water refill point).
This rest stop is a stream with very clear and cold water, full of small fish. When I got splashed with the cold water, I felt so refreshed.

After resting for about 5-10 minutes, I'm ready to go again!

The path is not too steep, gradually climbing upwards... Still chilling

The officer told us that if we get lost in the forest, we should take shelter under large trees like this.

Halfway through, the next destination is to stop for lunch.

Rest your legs, eat, drink water, and recharge.

From this point onwards, the trail becomes a steep ascent, requiring significant skill and physical exertion. You will need to use your legs and arms to climb, scramble, and pull yourself up the incline.

After walking for a while, I looked up at the path. Oh my god! The path is getting steeper and steeper. The luggage I'm carrying is starting to feel heavier.
++ I almost want to take off my backpack and leave my belongings here. I'll come back and get them on the way back. ++

This large rock indicates that we have reached the bamboo forest. The path ahead is steep and there are ropes to help you climb.

This atmosphere reminds me of Chinese martial arts movies, where they come to train their martial arts skills.

After escaping the bamboo forest, there was nothing but climbing. There were ropes to climb, vines to climb. If your arms and legs weren't strong, you'd definitely fall down. . . .

After exiting the cave, you have to climb over small rocks and then turn right to continue walking.

Emerging from the cave, I could vaguely see the goal in the distance. It wouldn't be long now, but my legs were absolutely exhausted.

We have arrived at "Pha Hin Goob" at 2:00 PM.

After reaching "Pha Hin Goob", I put down my 5 kg backpack and took out my sleeping bag to spread it out.

To let the world know where I, the conqueror of Pha Hin Goob, will be sleeping tonight, I rushed to take a picture with the conqueror's sign first.

Otherwise, it will be crowded, and I have to follow the steps... take a picture... click, click, click.

No disappointment at all!!! Looking at the surrounding atmosphere, there is almost no fatigue left.

We'll be sleeping like this. If you don't have a sleeping bag, you'll get a sore back (don't bring a tent, it's too heavy). There's no flat ground to pitch it on.

Just a large tarpaulin will do. Whoever comes first can reserve a sleeping spot on the goop. Whoever comes later will have to find another spot. But there's a sleeping spot for everyone.

The air up here . . . Oh my god!!! It's so good

"Khao" in front is called "Pha Mi".

After taking pictures of the accommodation until satisfied (while waiting for the sun to set), I prepared to go up and take pictures of the atmosphere on "Gub".

But unfortunately, I brought my Gopro camera but forgot the memory card. Otherwise, I would have gotten a lot more beautiful full-frame pictures. ^:^

The way up to "Gu B" is a real test of courage.

You have to pull yourself up the vine, walk on the log, swing to the next rock, and pull the rope to climb onto the gub.

The word "Koo B" refers to the seat on the back of an elephant. . . .

Koo B rocks are narrow, pointed, and slope down on both sides, like the back of an elephant.

On the way up, we had to fight off leeches that were trying to jump on us, but it was worth it when we got to the top.

The tiredness from trying to find answers all the way "What am I doing here?" It's all gone.

All that's left is happiness and memories :)

Let me tell you, getting each of these photos wasn't easy. The angles were tough, and we had to climb and scramble around. We had to be mindful and careful the whole time.

At the top, there will be a Thai flag to hold (as a photo prop) to make a conquering pose.

!!! Too bad there is no conqueror sign at the top.

The overall atmosphere and view from the top of "Gu B" is amazing. The wind is super strong!

It's so steep, be careful when you walk or you might roll down.

The hill in front of you in the picture takes less than 10 minutes to walk to.

It is called "Pha Mi", a sunset viewing point. The path to Pha Mi is not difficult. Just go down, up, climb, and hold on.

This is it, "Gu Bu", where we'll be sleeping tonight. The sky is our blanket, the rocks our bed, and a single mat spread beneath a rock (if there is one).

Then we lay down our sleeping bags and snuggle in. It might look uncomfortable... but trust me!!!

The feeling is amazing. The air up here is cold and windy, because the wind blows very, very hard.

The atmosphere on the mountain " Pha Mi " is the beauty of nature. The mist gradually covers the area.

Making today no sunset (a little sad)

After enjoying the beauty of nature, we practiced our martial arts skills on the mountaintop, just like in the Chinese movies.

We then descended from the Bear Cliff to have dinner (sticky rice with grilled pork, fried chicken, and sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves) and prepare to sleep under the stars tonight.

There were no stars tonight, the sky was pitch black, and all we could hear was the wind and the snoring of our companions.

We met here on this cliff ^^

[ Day 2 ]

This morning :) I woke up to the sound of many companions sleeping like sardines, almost 20 of them.

The view in front is beautiful. It's the most beautiful bedroom view I've ever woken up to.

Some of my companions are still asleep, some are awake but haven't gotten out of their sleeping bags yet.

Because the morning breeze is still blowing gently, but it's cold.

Some people choose to go and soak up the atmosphere at "Pha Mi".

The atmosphere in the bedroom in the morning . . . Refreshing . . . Truly unadulterated

Get up, wash your face, brush your teeth, eat some bread to fill your stomach, and then pack your sleeping bag in your backpack.

Then go up and take in the atmosphere on the roof one more time before leaving.

The wind was so strong this morning, I almost got blown away.

I've fallen head over heels for "him".

After returning from the cave above, my 20 companions vanished without a trace.

!!!! They went down before me.

Around 8:30 AM, I got ready to walk down from the cliff. Before leaving, I took another picture with the koo.

Because yesterday I couldn't take a picture, there were too many people, I couldn't take a picture at all (really).

The descent is very fast, I estimate it will take 2 hours because it took me 4 hours to climb.

I barely had time to rest, if it wasn't for the feeling that there was a slug in my trusty jeans, because it felt like something was crawling around in my pants.

I have to stop spraying now, I don't want to sin.

But I can't help it, I'm so scared (I'm totally freaked out).

On the way after passing the first rest point, I walked for a long time looking for a signal. I called Uncle Chaow to get ready to pick me up.

I also ordered Uncle to buy me some sponsors + cold Pepsi because I really, really, really wanted to drink it.

And then we descended to the wildlife sanctuary below at 10:30 am. It took 2 hours to walk down... perfectly on time!!!

Expenses: -

  • Roundtrip van fare: 340 baht
  • 1 night hotel: 200 baht
  • Staff fee: 200 baht
  • Mazda car fee: xxx baht (negotiable with uncle)
  • Food: 300 baht

Total 1,400 baht

!!!! If you want to see the full sea of mist, you have to come during the rainy season. . . . But then again, the journey would be as difficult as the beauty

With hiking .. Searching for the sea of mist at Yod Hin Goob, Chan city !!! But unfortunately, the day I went

The weather was quite cloudy, the sun didn't set and didn't rise

I'm not sure, but is this called " Relaxing on a day off after working all week " or not?????

Because the bed is not comfortable at all, the floor is hard rock, there are big rocks as a roof, to prevent getting wet from the rain

But then again . . . No one forced me to come !!!!

I think it's more tiring than working all week, hiking and climbing mountains in the hot season

With the risk of rain like this, both leg pain and very hot

The shirt is full of sweat, but it's just a minor obstacle and it's probably another taste of life that the forest gives

No matter how difficult it is, when I get home and open the photos I took . . .

I start looking for the next place to go, which mountain should I go to next ????? Because it makes us stronger

*** Just be sure that you will reach the destination, no matter what you encounter along the way ***
