When thinking of a beach near Bangkok, I believe everyone would think of Pattaya, Bangsaen, Cha-am, Hua Hin, and so on. But for me, I set a goal for myself that I wanted to go to an island beach, I wanted to take a boat, a 1-2 hour trip, and be able to go back and forth in the morning and evening, near Bangkok.

Looking at it, the problem seems difficult, huh? 5555+ Oh, or am I just being picky? 5555

I had several places in mind, but in the end, I settled on "Koh Kham" in Sattahip, Chonburi province.

https://www.facebook.com/TravelEverythingEveryTimeThe first thing you need to know before visiting Koh Kham is that you need to buy a ticket to get on the island. You can't just walk on, okay? ^^ You need to book in advance because the island limits the number of tourists who can visit each day. So if you want to visit the island, you need to get there early. I did some research before coming here and I was determined to catch the first boat.

Koh Kham does not allow overnight stays and is only open to tourists on Saturdays and Sundays. However, it is rumored that you can visit on weekdays if you are part of a group and contact the military in advance. The ticket price is 200 baht, not including diving equipment.

The following are the rounds for the boat to the island:

Travel to the island, travel back to the shore

Trip 1 09.00 am. Trip 1 13.00 pm.

Trip 2 10:00 AM Trip 2 2:00 PM

Trip 3 11:00 AM. Trip 3 3:00 PM.

And so my journey began. My journey was based on GPS navigation, which was the easiest and most convenient way. I set the pin at the Museum of Natural History of Thailand's Islands and Seas. It took me about 2 hours to get there. When I arrived, I immediately joined the queue to buy a ticket. And the ticket I got was for the first round, as I intended, which was the 9:00 AM round, just in time!

After getting the ticket, we can wait for the boat at Khao Ma Jor Pier.

The pier is not far from where you bought your ticket, so you can either walk or take the military-provided transportation.

But for me, I don't walk. 555

Upon arriving at the Khao Ma Jor Pier, we need to walk a little further to the pier, which is a concrete bridge extending into the sea. Along the way, you will notice that the seawater in this area is very clear and full of fish. After a short walk, we arrived at the pier. There are two boarding points at this pier, which are located next to each other. Before boarding the boat, I asked the officer which boat goes to Koh Kham.

The first boat to Koh Samet

The next boat to Koh Kham is the last one.

There are quite a few people visiting today.

After a 15-20 minute boat ride, we arrived at our destination, Koh Kham. Upon arrival, we had to transfer from the large boat to a smaller one. This is because the landing point is in an area with coral reefs and shallow water, which the boat we were on could not enter.

Atmosphere on the boat

Upon arrival, we will need to transfer from the large boat to a smaller one. This is because the landing point is in an area with coral reefs and shallow water, and the boat we are on cannot enter.

And then we arrived at the pier of Koh Kham.

Upon arrival at the island, the first thing we had to do was attend a briefing by the soldiers. This was to inform us of the various regulations and procedures. The briefing was relatively short, lasting only about 10 minutes.

After listening to the presentation, the first thing I did was take a picture. There were few people around, and I knew that if I waited for another boat to arrive, there would be too many people and I wouldn't be able to get a good angle.

Crystal clear water.

Koh Kham has two beaches, one on the north side and one on the south side. You can swim and do various activities on this beach only.

After taking some photos, I walked around to explore.

The beach here has fine white sand, with some sections interspersed with small stones. These stones are small enough to walk on without any danger.

Diving equipment is available for rent on the island for 50 baht.

And if you need a mat, just use your ID card as a deposit.

As we walked on, we reached the highlight of this place, which is the wooden bridge walkway around the island. There are many spots for taking pictures.

At the end of the path, you'll find another beach. The water here is crystal clear, and in my opinion, even clearer than the first spot. However, swimming here is a bit dangerous as it's quite secluded. If something were to happen, there might not be anyone around to help. Most tourists tend to relax on the main beach, so it's best to just take photos at this spot.

After that, I walked back to relax on the beach in front for a while and then traveled to the high-angle viewpoint of this island.

In a short period of time, the number of tourists visiting the island increased significantly, which was a stark contrast to the initial situation.

The initial part of the walk to the viewpoint is flat, with some grassy fields and large trees. As you walk further, the path becomes steeper, but there are ropes along the entire route to help you maintain your balance and prevent falls. However, it's still important to be cautious as the path is quite steep.

This viewpoint has 3 sections: 1, 2, and 3. Section 3 is the highest and most beautiful, offering a panoramic view of the sea surrounding the island behind it.

And as it approached one o'clock in the afternoon, we hurried down to board the boat back at one o'clock sharp.

If you want to stay on the island, you can. There are 3 rounds of boats returning, just like when you came.

This trip was a bit of a spur-of-the-moment decision, but it was fun in a different way. The water was clear, the sea was beautiful, and it was close to Bangkok. I'll definitely be back, "Koh Kham".

Summary of expenses

There are 4 people going, as follows:

Tickets are 200 baht per person, totaling 800 baht.

Breakfast cost 350 baht

The cost of lunch after disembarking is 450 baht.

Gasoline cost 650 baht

The total cost was 2250 baht, which was divided among 4 people, resulting in 562.5 baht per person. This is not too expensive.
