This trip is a 3-day, 2-night adventure that I planned with my friends.

Day one: Exploring the Hongs Cave.

1. After landing, visit Phrom Lok Waterfall.

2. Lunch was served at a restaurant specializing in fresh rice noodles, a local specialty of Nakhon Si Thammarat.

3. Check in to your accommodation and change clothes before heading to Tham Hongs.

4. Whitewater rafting on Klong Klai River

5. Soak in hot water.

It's hard to believe that you managed to collect everything we talked about. You're really good at time management! 555+

Day Two: Exploring the Capital City of Chumphon

1. Wake up early to watch the sea of fog at the viewpoint.

2. Return to the guesthouse for breakfast, then prepare to enter Krung Ching Waterfall.

  1. Travel to Lan Saka and enter Kiriwong Village.

4. Entered the house and went down to play in the water in front of the house.

Day 3: Khao Kiriwong

1. Explore the Kiriwong Village, coffee shops, streams, and more. Since you've already rented a car, make the most of it.

2. Entering the city, one should pay respects at the temple.

3. Dine at Kopi Restaurant.

4. Prepare to return to Bangkok.

Here's a rough plan. Let's take a look at each place and see what it's like. Are you ready? If you are, let's go on a trip together!

Travel Everything Every Time

This trip was truly a spur-of-the-moment decision, thanks to a great deal I found on Thai Lion Air flights.
Roundtrip from Don Mueang to Nakhon Si Thammarat for only 900 baht! When you find a bargain like that, you don't hesitate – you book it! And that's exactly what I did. No regrets here. ^^
P.S. I booked just one week before the trip. Talk about lucky!

After landing in Nakhon Si Thammarat, we followed our plan and immediately picked up our rental car. We then headed straight to Phrom Lok Waterfall. However, we were unaware that it had been raining since morning and the rain had just stopped when we arrived. As a result, the officials wouldn't allow us to enter the waterfall area due to concerns about flash floods. We had to comply with their instructions, as safety is paramount. Instead, we took some photos by the stream, which was quite charming. It was also possible to swim there, but we settled for taking pictures.

Our next activity was to go through the Hongs Cave. It wasn't so much going through as it was squeezing through, haha! But since we were hungry, we stopped at a fresh rice noodle shop along the way. There were many shops to choose from.

This restaurant serves Khanom Jeen in sets. Each set includes a kilogram of Khanom Jeen noodles and your choice of various dipping sauces. You can refill your sauces and vegetables as much as you like, and the vegetables are incredibly fresh.

After we were full, we headed to the accommodation to change clothes for diving into Hongs Cave.

We stayed at Krung Ching Homestay & Resort tonight, where the owner took very good care of us. I highly recommend it.

After changing into our caving gear, we headed straight to the entrance of Tham Hong Cave.

The Tham Hongs are located in Tambon Krung Ching, within the Khao Nan National Park. These caves are characterized by a continuous stream of water flowing throughout the walking path, as well as a diverse array of stalactites and stalagmites in various shapes and sizes.

It also serves as a habitat for bats.

Notably, this cave also features a waterfall for visitors to admire.

Visiting the Cave: A Journey into Darkness and Beauty

Exploring the cave requires a guide at all times, and a flashlight is essential due to the complete darkness within. The 300-meter journey may not be long, but the cave's beauty unfolds at every turn.

After exiting the cave, we continued our adventure by whitewater rafting on the Klong Klai River. When asked if we were tired, the answer was a resounding no! We are incredibly diligent when it comes to exploring, haha!

Whitewater Rafting on Klong Klai

Today, we will embark on a whitewater rafting adventure on the Klong Klai River, specifically from Pak Khlong Pitam to Lan Hin Dan, covering a distance of 2.5 kilometers. The journey is estimated to take approximately 1.5 hours.

We will be using small rubber rafts for this expedition, with experienced guides at the helm to navigate the rapids. Along the route, we will encounter a series of small and large rapids, interspersed with stretches of calm water. The surrounding landscape boasts lush, verdant forests, offering a breathtaking natural backdrop to our thrilling experience.

Our trip for today is not over yet. We will go to soak in the hot springs before checking into our accommodation to relax our bodies from all the traveling we have done all day. However, it is a pity that we did not capture any pictures to share with you.

On the second day, we woke up at 5 am to watch the sea of fog at the Krung Ching viewpoint. Unfortunately, the fog did not appear as expected this morning. However, the view from here was still beautiful in a different way.

Next, we continued on to Krung Ching Waterfall, which was a challenging trek. We had to hike through the jungle to reach the waterfall, battling through a thicket of leeches. The roundtrip distance was approximately 8 kilometers.

Mosquito Repellent Measures: A Multi-Layered Approach

The text describes a multi-layered approach to mosquito repellent, highlighting the individual's fear of mosquitoes.

Fear of Mosquitoes:

The individual expresses a significant fear of mosquitoes, stating "กลัวมากๆ" (extremely afraid). This fear likely motivates the implementation of the multi-layered repellent strategy.

Repellent Strategy:

The individual employs a three-step repellent strategy:

  1. Foot Protection: Applying repellent to the feet before putting on socks.
  2. Sock Protection: Spraying repellent directly onto the socks.
  3. Lower Leg Protection: Applying repellent to the trouser legs.

This layered approach aims to create a comprehensive barrier against mosquito bites, demonstrating a proactive and cautious attitude towards mosquito prevention.

Additional Notes:

  • The specific type of repellent used is not mentioned.
  • The effectiveness of this multi-layered approach is not evaluated.
  • The text provides a snapshot of an individual's personal approach to mosquito repellent and does not offer broader insights or recommendations.

The entire route is surrounded by lush, shady forests with a cool and refreshing atmosphere. The terrain alternates between steep inclines and flat sections.

Finally, we will have to walk down to the bottom to see the waterfall cascading down.

The entire journey covered 4 kilometers and took approximately 2 hours. The terrain varied, with some steep sections interspersed with flatter stretches.

Having come this far, let's take a picture with the waterfall.

The activities at Krung Ching Waterfall are limited to nature walks. Therefore, those who wish to visit should be prepared to hike a total of approximately 8 kilometers roundtrip. The highlight of the area is the stunning Krung Ching Waterfall. As for how tiring the hike is, let the picture speak for itself. After emerging from the waterfall, I had to rest for a bit. 555+

This afternoon, we will continue our journey to Kiriwong Village, the village with the best air in Thailand. How good it will be, let's go and see. Today, we choose to stay at "Namchai Klong", the accommodation will be in the form of a simple hut by the stream.

The accommodation here has a stream flowing in front of the house, so you can walk down and play in the water.
This evening, we played in the water in front of the house first. Then tomorrow, we will explore the surrounding villages.

The water here is crystal clear, making Khao Kiri Wong renowned for having the best air quality in Thailand.

After a refreshing swim, we showered and changed before heading to the restaurant for a delicious southern Thai meal. The restaurant offered table service, allowing us to order directly from our table.
For this meal, we focused on southern Thai cuisine, as it would have been a shame not to indulge in the local specialties.

On our last morning in Khao Wong, we were told that cycling around the village was a must-do activity. However, considering our physical limitations, we opted for a car instead.

Today, we went on a trip to Hin Ta Hin Yai, which, as the name suggests, has a lot of rocks.

The Nan Hin Tha Han area also features a small suspension bridge, offering stunning views for visitors to enjoy.

We then continued our journey to Wang Mai Pak Waterfall, but on the way we came across this sign, so we stopped to take a picture.

Upon reaching Wang Mai Pak Waterfall, you'll be greeted by crystal-clear waters teeming with schools of Pla Pluang fish.

Next, we head to Baan Nai Tang Coffee Shop in Khao Kiri Wong.

The restaurant offers a variety of photogenic corners.

Now that we're here, how can we not order some to eat?

And finally, we arrive at the last point, the Khiriwong Bridge. Anyone visiting here must stop and take a picture at this corner, otherwise it's like you haven't been here.

Before returning to the city, we stopped for lunch at Auntie Kiew's Kanom Jeen restaurant.

Before returning to Bangkok this afternoon, we will pay our respects at Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan.

And here, there are also skewered mangosteens, which I have never seen before. They are called "mangosteen khat." The taste is like regular mangosteen, but it is very crispy.

Begin with a bow to the City Pillar Shrine.

Take a quick look at the old town before heading to the airport to prepare for your return to Bangkok.

However, we seem to have forgotten to stop by another place, the Kopi shop. How could we miss it when we're already here?

This is the menu we ordered. I must say that everything here is delicious.

And see you in the next review, where we will travel to. Please stay tuned. Thank you to everyone who followed and read to the end.
