Everyone's happiness is different. When do you feel happy?
Some people are happy with branded items.
Some people are happy with eating good and expensive food.
Some people are happy with driving luxury cars.
But some people are happy with a moderate life.
And some people are happy just because they get to travel.
Hello everyone, travelers. Jack is back again. I would like to invite my friends to find happiness, lushness, and watch the fog in the rainy season at Thong Pha Phum National Park, Kanchanaburi Province.
Get to know each other better. You can say hello, chat, ask for advice, but don't ask to borrow money.
This is Jack's travel and photography page.

I'm done selling, let's move on. Hehe.
I've lost count of how many times I've been on an adventure to Kanchanaburi. The sole reason for this trip was to see the fog. Jack calls it happiness, because he feels happy every time he sees it. Especially when it's clinging to the mountains. Oh my god, it's heaven on earth.
The rainy season is here, and it's foggy as hell. But you have to trade it for the wetness and the mud. Be careful of your health and your camera, okay? Anyone else like us? We care more about the camera than ourselves. We don't care if we get wet, but the camera must not get wet. 555
Let's get started, shall we? This trip is going to be a lot of fun. We decided on Friday night, so we need to recharge ourselves. I'm feeling tired from work, and I think a trip to find some fog would be refreshing.
As planned, on Saturday morning, I packed my things and drove to Kanchanaburi. I went alone, determined to fight. It rained all the way, but this time, instead of feeling worried, I was happy.
Because in the forest it will definitely be foggy. And it was as I thought. When we reached the Kaeng Sien intersection, we turned left, following the sign for Sai Yok. This route is Jack's happy place.
The view from the road is stunning. It's a mountain range, playfully teased by the mist.
The atmosphere of the rain, so refreshing, makes our hearts feel full, or what we call "fin".
Wow, this is just the side of the road, but there are so many spots that make you want to stop and take pictures. But then again, some sections of the road don't allow for parking.
Some images, therefore, must be kept in memory.
Entering the Thong Pha Phum National Park, the road is small and winding, but not difficult to drive (Phu Thap Boek, Khao Kho, Inthanon, Mae Chaem, Doi Ang Khang have all been passed, so there is no need to be afraid of any curves in this life).
The road surface is still in good condition in the first few sections, as if it had been recently resurfaced.
However, some sections of the road are in poor condition. I last traveled this route three years ago (at that time, I went to Baan Itong, which is beyond the national park, and the road to Baan Itong has 399 curves).
I feel like the road is worse this year than before. It's probably because of the rainy season. Some parts of the road are full of potholes, but luckily there weren't many cars coming the other way, so I could avoid the potholes easily.
There were no cars behind me, and to be honest, I only met two oncoming cars. It was so quiet. But overall, the road wasn't too bad. It was drivable. Jack's little Mirage was fine.
Don't worry about the road too much, let's talk about the fog instead.
As we drive up the mountain, we gradually enter the fog. At times, the fog is thick and hangs in front of us.
I stretched my hand out of the car window, letting the mist touch my skin. It felt so refreshing.
Before reaching the park office, there is a viewpoint, the viewpoint at km 12, or it can be called the viewpoint on the way up to the Pilok mine.
This area has staff on duty, restrooms, convenient parking, and a cell phone reception point.
As we drove, a light drizzle began to fall, creating a charming atmosphere. We decided to stop and stretch our legs, taking in the scenery while enjoying the gentle rain.
The fog is here to stay, gracing us with its presence all day long.
The view depends on the wind. In a moment, the wind blows and the fog covers the view completely. But there are still some moments to capture the picture.
After this viewpoint, there is another one at Km.19. This point only has a pavilion for viewing, no restrooms, and no staff. However, we did not stop there.
The fog is so thick, everything is white. I can't see the mountain at all.
Driving on, we were surrounded by fog the whole way. After a while, we arrived at the Thong Pha Phum National Park office.
If you're not using a private car, here's how to get here:
From Bangkok, you can easily take a van to Kanchanaburi Bus Terminal.
From the bus terminal, take a bus or van to Thong Pha Phum Market.
From the Thong Pha Phum gold market, take a songthaew on the Thong Pha Phum-Ban E Tong route. This route will pass through the National Park.
The park office is right on the road.
Pay the fee in advance.
The price is as follows:
For Thai people, adults 40 baht, children 20 baht.
For foreigners, adults 200 baht, children 100 baht
Car 30 baht Motorcycle 20 baht
Camping fee 30 baht/person/car
Let me preface by saying that we embarked on our journey without booking any accommodation, intending to stay at the national park's lodgings to catch the sunrise. We made a phone call upon arriving in Kanchanaburi.
This number, 034 510979, the officer said that you need to book 15 days in advance, but there are houses available, so you can walk in.
Accommodation is not a big concern. We have been on this route before and stayed at Ban I Tong (8 km from the national park). If the national park is full, we will stay at Ban I Tong. If that is also full, we will camp.
The rain is still falling heavily, even heavier than before. The officer told us that there was a vacant house, so we drove to the tourist service center.
We will meet the receptionist first 5555. The hornbill is very cute. It walks in to wait for the officer. Until it sees it, it jumps and plays in the field. After a while, it goes up to the roof.
I couldn't get a close-up shot, but I once saw one at the fort. It was playful and liked to tease people. Maybe that's just how hornbills are.
First of all, the officer said that there is nothing in the room. There will be electricity only from 6 pm to 8 pm. There are no electrical outlets in the room.
The food court is open until 5 pm. There are no power outlets in the room, so how do I charge my phone? If you want to charge your battery, you can leave it with the staff to charge.
Okay, I can handle it. I've arranged accommodation for you. It's a house on a cliff for 800 baht per night. There's also a Tarzan house available, which is a treehouse with a full view and no trees blocking it, but it's 1500 baht.
No, no, it's too expensive. I'm going alone, so I want the cheapest option. I paid, filled in the details, and then drove up to the house. The road was not good at all.
We're finally here at our house, Rim Pha 1. It's a long walk from the parking lot, but not really that far. 5555 But the path is a bit hilly, so it's tiring to walk up and down.
The house is built on the edge of a cliff, as the name suggests. The room only has bedding. The bathroom has a flush toilet, 1 bottle of water, and 1 roll of tissue.
The view from the balcony is not ideal due to the trees blocking it. However, we can walk outside the house to enjoy the view. There are two viewpoints, Kood Doi and Noen Chang Phuak.
There are some people staying in other houses today, but no one is camping.
After finishing carrying my belongings into the house, staying inside doesn't seem like a good option. The electricity hasn't come back on yet, so the room is quite dark. I can't relax on the balcony either, because it's raining.
Then let's go out and play in the rain. Take a walk, capture the atmosphere. Open an umbrella to take pictures, it's too difficult.
Let's see the atmosphere together.
The tent site and the trees are covered in moss, making everything look lush and green. It's very humid here.
Let's walk around the corner to see Tarzan's house. It's up in the trees.
Go to the viewpoint of Khao Kud and Noen Chang Phuak, walk around and wait for the best moment of that time, in case the wind direction is in our favor.
Let the fog clear so we can see the mountains emerge from the mist.
It's evening now. It's been foggy all day, but it's a light fog.
The fog is not still, I wish it was a sea of fog, but this way is also beautiful in its own way.
At times, the fog clears, revealing a view of the mountains.
The fog came back again after a while. It was still foggy until it got dark. The wind came and the rain came lightly and continuously.
The original text is in English, so no translation is needed.
The Milky Way viewpoint doesn't offer much of a view at all.
I walked around taking pictures, waiting for the officer to turn on the lights. When the lights came on, I went to charge the camera battery. Usually, the lights are only on until 8 pm, but today, Saturday, they are on until 9 pm.
The temperature is 22 degrees at 6 pm.
Plugged in the battery and it started to rain. Ran into the house, lol. Will pick it up around 9pm.
Heavy rain, strong wind, cold weather.
It's normal, isn't it? During the rainy season, you have to encounter rain. If you don't encounter rain, that's strange.
It's raining, it's getting wet, don't worry about it, just look at it as happiness.
Will I find anything tonight? I'll tell you later. Thank you all for reading. I'm so glad you all like Jack. Let's continue to the end.
After running home from the rain, we'll tell you how it is. The air in the house is humid, as you can see. It's a bamboo house, so the air can come in comfortably.
"It's not that cold, but it's quite humid. It feels like being in a rainforest, you know? Haha, anyway, the water is super cold!"
If we talk about the balcony, it's soaking wet. We can't even sit outside. What should we do? There's nothing to do. But we brought our laptops with us.
Sit and edit photos. Write a review too. It's a good time because if I go back to Bangkok, I won't have much time to do it.
But then the battery ran out, and there was no plug to charge it, so I had to turn it off and switch to typing on my phone instead. It's okay.
It's almost 9 pm and the rain shows no signs of stopping. Plus, it's windy. The problem is that I have to go out and get the camera battery that I left charging. It's dark, rainy, and windy.
Alright, I guess there's nothing to it. I grabbed my trusty umbrella and walked up the small hill to get the battery.
Leaving the room, it was really dark. But we had a flashlight, which is essential for anyone coming here.
No one is around. Of course, who would come out in such heavy rain?
I walked to the fort. There was only one officer sitting in the small, quiet fort. He underlined that it was very quiet. If I had to sit there, I would be very lonely.
Talking about the weather, the officer said it was normal because this is their time.
It makes us feel that people who come to work like this must love it, understand nature, and most importantly, we think that all officers must sacrifice a lot.
Just imagine being in the forest, far from civilization, with little or no phone signal.
Electricity is also limited, and many things are not convenient. Thank you, Thai forest rangers.
When we got back home, it was almost 9 pm. I was getting ready for bed. When it was time to turn off the lights, there was a signal, the lights went out and on for a short time, maybe 3 times.
And then it will go out completely, pitch black, as we mentioned before, you have to be strong-minded. If we are weak-minded, we will imagine that there are scary things there, and then we will be afraid.
Jack is not afraid, Jack has a Buddha 555 Before going to bed, I also pray to the local spirits, forest spirits, and mountain spirits for peace of mind. I slept soundly tonight.
DAY 2 We woke up with the hope that we would see the sea of fog
We woke up at 6 am and checked the weather. It was raining, but not too heavily. There was also fog, and the balcony behind our room was completely white.
We couldn't see anything until after 7 am. We went out to explore the viewpoint and waited for a good opportunity to take pictures.
That's all I could find.
Similar to yesterday
Photos from multiple angles
Lots of pictures.
In the end, the rain poured heavily. That's it. I couldn't take any more pictures and had to go back to sulking in the corner of the room.
Soaked through and through
Do you see the rain?
In the end, it seemed like it wouldn't stop easily, so we decided to go back. We returned the key and stamped the document.
It's time to say goodbye to A.C. Thong Pha Phum. Thank you for giving us happiness. If we have the chance, we will come back again.
The rain kept getting heavier, so we had to change our plans. Our original plan was to find something to eat at Baan E-Tong and take pictures at Khao Chang Si.
After descending from Thong Pha Phum, we planned to stop by Pha Tad Waterfall. However, we had to abandon those plans. It wasn't a big deal though, as we had already visited both Khao Chang Phueak and Ban I Tong.
I left the hospital and went straight back. It was still raining heavily as I drove.
Parked by the side of the road to enjoy the view like before. I couldn't help but take a picture, but the angle wasn't great. I didn't get out of the car, just rolled down the window and snapped a shot. 5555
I want to sit and look like this all day.
Screaming all the way, hahaha. The view is beautiful.
The photos from the phone aren't very good.
In short, the rain kept falling without stopping until it reached the city, where it gradually subsided.
This trip didn't go according to plan. We stayed in the national park the whole time, and it rained heavily. But believe it or not, we had a great time.
We have found that happiness is not just at the destination
But happiness starts from the moment we set out on our journey....
See you again.
