Green Season Solo Traveler's Diary: 48 Hours in Nan
The rainy season makes people lonely, but a face like his makes us think of him.
Oops, that's not right. Why is the first post so nonsensical?
This sentence translates to: "Here is a video of the trip."
Let's go on a journey! Jack is one of those people who enjoys the rainy season. He loves the lush greenery, especially after the rain when mist floats over the mountaintops. It's a truly mesmerizing sight.
Having traveled to Nan Province several times, including Tha Wang Pha, Pua, and Bo Kluea, I've been consistently impressed by the stunning roadside views. Many spots along the way have tempted me to stop and capture the scenery, but traveling by car made it difficult and sometimes dangerous due to the winding roads and steep inclines. Parking was also a challenge. This experience solidified my desire to explore the area on a motorbike, allowing me to stop and photograph any captivating vista that catches my eye. I believe the Pua district, in particular, offers exceptional vantage points for photography.
After making a plan, I immediately booked my tickets. I checked bus and flight schedules and decided that flying was the best option for the time I had. Air Asia was the airline that offered flights during my preferred time slot.
Check in from home, then scan the QR code from the kiosk when you arrive. This is a quick option because you don't need to collect your luggage.
Excuse me for a moment while I sell some items. We have a page called "Little Traveler" where we share solo travel experiences and hiking trips. Please like and follow our page to stay updated on our adventures.

Let's continue our journey.
DAY-1 We arrived in Nan in the late afternoon and rented a motorbike from the airport. We then rushed to Pua District, where we would be staying at Phu Kha Mountain View Resort. Note: The lady who rented us the motorbike remembered us. She said that we came alone last time.
This time I came alone. Oh, Jack's life is really miserable.
The journey during the rainy season was soaked, as expected. Just before reaching Tha Wang Pha District, the rain poured heavily, even penetrating my raincoat. In truth, the raincoat was in poor condition, with the seam tape peeling off, allowing the rain to seep through.
We were soaked to the bone, but the misery didn't end there. When we reached Tha Wang Pha district, the rain stopped. The locals must have been wondering where we had been swimming. 55555 Well, at least the rain stopped so we could admire the scenery.
Here's a glimpse of the scenery along the way, the first view we encountered.
Okay, that's good enough for us. It's so refreshing. I told you we'd take you on a roadside trip.
Stopped by the 7-Eleven across from the Pua market to grab some snacks, as we were nearing our accommodation. This area is a bustling community with a 7-Eleven, Lotus supermarket, and restaurants.
The food we got was meatballs and this menu, I don't know what it's called, but it's minced pork wrapped in betel leaves and grilled. 10 baht per stick, 1 stick has 4 pieces, eaten with spicy seafood dipping sauce. Oh, I love it. I've never eaten it before.
We are full, so let's move on. It's getting dark soon.
We arrived at the accommodation just as it was getting dark.
This picture was taken during the day to show the sign.
Our resort is a bit difficult to find. You will only see signs and a parking lot. Then you will wonder where the resort and the coffee shop are. Park your car and take a deep breath.
I see the sign. Ah, it's right below here.
The text describes a resort called Phu Kha Mountain View, which also has a coffee shop named "Under's Bar." The coffee shop is located underground, making it difficult to find. The author notes that the view from the coffee shop is beautiful, especially at dusk. They provide a picture of the coffee shop at night.
Absolutely stunning.
The accommodation is located right next to the coffee shop. The houses are detached and have parking in front. The parking lot is spacious. Let's take a look inside the room. It has air conditioning, a TV, a fan, a refrigerator, and of course, Wi-Fi.
This place has everything you need. They currently have a promotion for 500 baht with breakfast included, which is fantastic. I'm exhausted from my travels today, so I'm going to rest up. It's raining heavily tonight, so I'm sure I'll sleep soundly.
Here is the number, in case your friends are interested.

Day 2
And no need to wake up at 4 or 5 am to hike up a mountain to watch the sunrise like our other trips. Hehe.
I peeked through the curtains to see if the sky was clear, as we wanted to watch the sunrise from the coffee shop's viewpoint. However, it seems the sky is overcast, so there's no need to rush to wake up. This trip is truly about relaxation. Breakfast here is served around 8:00 AM.
Breakfast at Andre's Bar is included in your stay at Phu Kha Mountain View Resort.
High-angle view.
Before going to breakfast, here is a picture of the outside of the room.
You can park in front of the room.
Contact the accommodation here.
Lush, with plenty of trees.
This morning's view is stunning.
Taken from the address bar.
You can sit here.
In addition to the hidden location, the view from this page is the main selling point. The view is excellent.
The store's decorations are quite frilly and girly.
Upon tasting the food, I can confidently say that it's not just the hidden location or the stunning views that make this place special. The food is truly delicious. During my two-night stay, I had the opportunity to enjoy both breakfast and dinner, and I was thoroughly impressed by the flavors. There's one particular drink on the menu that I highly recommend, but I'll keep it a secret for now. You'll have to follow along to find out! ;)
Full stomachs and happy hearts with the view, let's go capture the scenery from above. This area can accommodate banquets and events, and even has a stage.
For a high-angle view, you can go up and take pictures from there.
The stairs are quite steep.
You can also set up a camera to take pictures of yourself. ;)
Let's ride our motorcycles around. The first place we will visit is Wat Phukhet.
However, we had to stop by the roadside again because we encountered another beautiful view.
We have arrived at Phuket Temple.
At this temple, we will enjoy a panoramic view of the rice fields. But first, let's pay our respects to the Buddha for good luck.
Let's enjoy the view together.
Another stunning view.
There will be a coffee shop in the rice field.
I stayed at the temple for a long time because I was flying a drone. Please don't accuse me of doing anything wrong. I have the necessary permits from both the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) and the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA).
Capturing the scene from both drone and ground perspectives, including still images and videos, was overwhelming. In short, we spent most of the morning at the temple.
Where to next after leaving the temple?
Ride along the road to Bo Kluea.
Translation:
It can go two ways, or there might be another way we don't know about. We took Route 1081 from Pua to Bo Kluea. As we rode, we came across a Tai Lue coffee shop and the Baan Hua Nam mushroom farm, which are both located on this route. You've probably seen them before, but we didn't stop. We're feeling adventurous and want to take pictures of the scenery along the way. Let's go!
We continued riding along the scenic road leading to the salt mine.
Continue riding straight along the path. At this intersection, we will continue riding straight ahead.
Oh no, why are you crushing my dreams like this?
The road is closed. There should have been a sign before this point, because if we have to go another way, we will have to go back a long way. At that time, I thought for about a minute, should I go or not, should I go or not? I don't know where the road is closed. Maybe it's still a long way off, and we might get some beautiful views before we get to the closed road.
Jack contemplated the situation, realizing that taking the alternative route would likely consume the remainder of the day. Despite the time constraint, Jack resolved to proceed, reasoning that they could simply turn back if the path became impassable. With a newfound determination, Jack continued forward.
A short ride brought us to this breathtaking view.
This is our companion on this trip.
Continue.

Capturing moments along the way.
Every detail is beautiful.
Aerial view.
Oh, what are you doing sitting there? You must be tired.
In summary, we rode to around kilometer 30, before reaching the point where the landslide blocked the road.
It's getting late, and I'm afraid it will be dark soon, so I'm going to head home now.
Okay, I got the desired pictures. I managed to capture the beautiful scenery along the way. Yay! I did it!
Return to Andres Bar for dinner.
Here's the recommended drink menu I mentioned.
Taro milk is essentially fresh milk blended with taro. It's a refreshing drink with a sweet and creamy taste. Despite its unusual name, it's one of the shop's recommended menu items. I tried it and loved it! If you're visiting, be sure to give it a try. You might just fall in love with it too.
He has a bear as a friend. 5555
For dinner tonight, I'm craving something light and flavorful, like a spicy mixed salad.
I really like french fries. I can eat them all the time.
The food is delicious. I love it. If I stay here for a few days, I'm sure I'll gain weight.
Another night of hoping for clear skies. I wanted to take pictures of the stars, but I couldn't find any openings. Oh well, I guess I'll just sleep.
Day 3: This morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast with beautiful views as usual. We don't want to leave! Haha.
Do we have to leave already? Time flies.
Breakfast and beautiful views as always.
This morning, we packed our belongings, checked out of the Phukama Mountain View Resort and Andre's Bar, and said goodbye to the lovely owner, Bow.
Thank you for the warm welcome and delicious food.
There is still time.
Let's take a few photos in the city before returning the motorbike.
Meet at the airport at 4 pm to return the motorcycle.
In Nan, a must-visit destination is Wat Phra That Khao Noi.
Translation:
At the scenic viewpoint, the majestic Phra Phuttha Maha Udom Mongkhon Nanaburi Si Nan statue stands tall.
This is a Buddha statue in the attitude of bestowing blessings.
In the morning, if the weather is good, we can also see the sea of fog from here.
The panoramic view of Nan city.
Phumin Temple
The temple walls are adorned with murals, primarily depicting Jataka tales and offering glimpses into the historical lifestyles of Nan residents. Among these murals, one particularly renowned piece attracts countless visitors.
That is, the image of the world-famous love whisper, Pu Man Ya Man.
Leaving Wat Phumin, we continue to the Lilawadi Arch, which is just across the street.
The Lilawadi or Lantana Arch is located in front of the Nan National Museum.
The branches curve towards each other, resembling a tunnel.
I'm hungry. Let's find something to eat nearby. We don't need to go far. Khao Soi at Ton Nam Restaurant.
After we were full, we returned the car and took a taxi from the airport to the bus terminal. We waited for the bus back to Bangkok.
To Bangkok at 5 am, then take a shower, get dressed and go to work. How tough must it be?
Jack's roadside trip has come to an end. Although it was a short trip, it was filled with joy because we chose to design our own lives and not wait for long holidays. We can use our regular days off for such adventures.
Step outside your comfort zone and discover the true beauty of Thailand.
Traveling alone is not as scary as many people think.
Nan offers a plethora of attractions waiting to be explored, from serene temples and monasteries to thrilling adventures like trekking, whitewater rafting, and farm stays. Its abundance of natural wonders is sure to captivate visitors.
Jack brought this for you. He got it from his previous visits.
Hiking in Doi Phu Wae, where you sleep on the ground and eat in the sand.
