Lost in the Charm of Chanthaburi... Chanthaburi is a place I can visit often without getting bored. This time, I'm heading to the Nong Bua Community in Nong Bua Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chanthaburi Province, another old community and market in Chanthaburi. There are many old wooden houses, some hundreds of years old. The Nong Bua Market is located along the Nong Bua Canal, a branch of the Chanthaburi River. The scenery is beautiful, the atmosphere is pleasant, and there are many pong pang boats parked there.

Our goal is to stay at a homestay called Chan de Bua (Chan de Bua), which is owned by Pear's junior. The homestay is a renovated row of houses adjacent to a fruit orchard with mangosteen, longan, and a few durian trees. It is located in Nong Bua village. This trip is all about health, so we will be picking fruits from the orchard and then grilling fresh seafood.

To get to Nong Bua Village, once you arrive in Chanthaburi city, you can use Google Maps to navigate. Search for "Nong Bua, Chanthaburi" and follow Community Road 3348 or Yana Viroj Road through the village. Look for Wat Nong, which will be opposite the entrance to the village on Khomol Wapolee Road, Moo 4, Soi 1. The accommodation, Chan De Bua, is located there. For the Nong Bua Old Market, continue straight for a bit more.

Or from Chanthaburi city, cross the Trirat Bridge and head towards Highway 3 until you reach the Wat Phai Lom intersection. Turn right onto Yannaviroj Road for about 7 km. You will find a fork in the road. Look for Wat Nong Bua on your left and turn right. After about 1 km, you will reach Nong Bua Market.

Let's take a look at the room first. The room is decorated in a vintage style, reminiscent of the old Nong Bua community. The entrance door to the room is an old-fashioned folding type.

There is welcome fruit too.

The interior is a hall with 1 room. The furniture is still old, but it has been modified to be beautiful.

There are bicycles available for rent to explore the village or go to the market.

In the bedroom

If you are interested, you can inquire or see more details here. The owner is lovely and friendly, and will take good care of you and help you in any way they can. Her name is Nong Pun, and you can call her at 080 270 5705 or visit her at https://www.facebook.com/ChanDeBua. The facilities are complete, including air conditioning in the bedroom, TV, hot water, wifi, and bicycles for you to ride around and have fun.

*** Let's take a break for lunch first. Now that we've arrived in Nong Bua, a must-try dish is ** "Mu Liang" noodles**, which is only available in Chanthaburi. It uses a herb called "Rew", which looks like galangal and has a fragrant aroma. It is pounded and used to make the broth for "Mu Liang" noodles. The taste of the broth is unique and unlike any other. There are many shops in Nong Bua village to choose from.

After a short rest, I went to the garden behind the room to pick some fruits to eat. ^^

The King of Fruits is definitely durian, while the Queen of Fruits is mangosteen. Followed by rambutan, longan, and salak, it's a real mix of fruits! Hehe.

In the late afternoon, we took a boat ride to watch the sunset. Starting from Khlong Nong Bua, the pier is located behind the market. The round trip boat ride takes about 2 and a half hours, following the route of Nong Bua and Khlong Bang Srakhao. Along the way, we will pass through mangrove forests, the beautiful village of Samat Ngam, and observe the way of life of the villagers along the canal. The final destination is the King Taksin Shrine and the boatyard.

Take a relaxing boat ride and enjoy the scenery on both sides.

Bird watching

Look at the wood

You can see the Laem Sing Bridge, also known as the King Taksin the Great Bridge.

The boat trip ends here at the King Taksin the Great Boat Building Yard.

The name of the ship, HTMS Phosamton, was brought from the Royal Thai Navy Dockyard in Phra Samut Chedi District, Samut Prakan Province, to be installed at the Somdet Phra Chao Taksin Maharat Dockyard or Ban Samoeng Ngam Dockyard as a source of historical learning for students, scholars and those who are interested.

Disembark to pay respects at the Taksin Shrine

After worshiping the Buddha, the face will have a happy and blessed look like this :)

It's time to go back. We'll be able to see the sunset while we're on the boat.

The villagers' way of life is that when the sun sets, it is time to go home.

I like the golden light of the setting sun, but today the clouds are completely blocking it, so I can only get this light.

Returning to the accommodation just as it was getting dark, it was time for dinner. The focus was on fresh seafood. We got everything: shrimp, clams, crab, and fish, which we ordered from the fish market. This way, we got a good price. Before coming, we had to ask what was available, as sometimes the boats haven't delivered to the market yet. We might have to order 2-3 days in advance.

zzzzzzz

This morning I decided to go for a run. It's a popular activity for the locals here, whether they're running, cycling, or walking to the morning market. The atmosphere is great, the view is beautiful, and it's just a lot of fun.

I recommend this route, the Khlong Bypass, named Khlong Phakdi Ramphai, which has just been completed. The distance along the canal to Chanthaburi city is about 10 kilometers round trip. On the other side of the canal is Khao Srabap, which is the Namtok Phlio National Park. The other side of the canal is a residential area. Come early in the morning, as it gets very hot in the afternoon. This bypass canal was built to solve the flooding problem. It will drain water from the Chanthaburi River to the bypass canal and out to sea. The area is also being developed with trees and flowers to create a recreational space.

Both cycling and running

Take a picture as proof that we really ran and cycled ^^,

After sweating, we walked to Nong Bua Old Market to find breakfast.

The morning market atmosphere The market here starts at 4 am. We arrived late, and the market was starting to wind down.

Homemade snacks, old-fashioned style, made by the hands of the elderly :)

Ancient recipe coconut pancake, wrapped in banana leaves package

Jui snacks, fried snacks, bomb balls, or Grandma Yong's fried snacks are ancient fried snacks with mung bean paste filling. Grandma Yong's own recipe :)

This is a delicious, old-fashioned recipe for Auntie Kate's Thong Muan.

The people of Nong Bua enjoy eating Pa Tong Go with a special dipping sauce that is unique to this region.

The renowned handicrafts of the Nong Bua community include woven sedge mats and broomcorn brooms. We visited a house where they make brooms from broomcorn grass, which grows on the hills and not on ordinary ground. The grandmother here told us that it is handmade work. I must say, their brooms are really durable and last a long time.

Enjoy a late breakfast and then check out. You can still visit some attractions on your way back.

This photo was taken because there weren't many cars on the road, so we were able to post outside the car. :)

This picture shows a clear road, so it's funny that they appeared. (Should be under parental supervision)

Following the signs for tourist attractions, I saw a sign for Ao Krating. I stopped for a bit. This place is peaceful and seems like a great place to pitch a tent by the sea.

Another spot worth stopping by is the **Naang Phaya Viewpoint**. No matter how many times you come, it's always the same. The only difference is, will you get to see the sunset? Don't miss out on trying the sun-dried grilled squid with its delicious and spicy dipping sauce.

Love each other.

Modern now, love each other, come and hang the key :)

The curve is still the same ^^

The sky is getting dark, the sun is hiding behind the clouds, and it's about to rain. It's really time to go home now.

Chanthaburi, no matter how many times I visit, I never get bored. It has become a second home that I can visit whenever I want. Try exploring new and unusual angles, new places. Then we will learn and discover new things. Not far from Bangkok, drive carefully during the rainy season.
