Good morning. This trip was just a few days ago on August 12th. We planned to stay in Hua Hin for one night and Kaeng Krachan for one night. While driving in the morning, my sister's LINE notification went off with the shocking news of a bomb explosion in Hua Hin. (We would like to express our condolences to the victims and injured.) We were hesitant about whether to continue our trip, as we had already booked our accommodation. However, we were also afraid, and there was an announcement advising tourists to stay in their rooms and locals to stay at home for safety reasons. Therefore, we decided to turn around and head to Kaeng Krachan. We would find accommodation later. Fortunately, we were able to leave our room at the Hua Hin accommodation for later use due to this incident.

On the way, we stopped by Wat Huai Rong to make merit and pay respects to Luang Pho Noen. This temple is located a bit far from the main road.

While stopping for lunch, we helped each other find information. Most places were already full because it was a festival. Then, my sister found a place that was still available and affordable. So, we headed to "Jiraporn Kaeng Krachan," which is like a house converted into accommodation. The atmosphere was fantastic, perhaps because the sun was setting and the wind was calm, making it not hot. All we could see was greenery, which I loved.

Simple and Short

The accommodation is simple, with a provincial atmosphere. This is what I call relaxation! Upon entering, there's a basic swimming pool for children and adults, connected to a slide that leads into the river (I don't know the exact name, sorry! It's the water they use for whitewater rafting). I believe the accommodation has recently opened, as everything looks brand new. When we visited, there weren't many bookings yet, and the pool was just being filled with water. We had to wait for it to be full before we could swim.

Every accommodation along the river provides lifebuoys and ropes for visitors to hold onto while playing in the water. These are essential, as the current can be strong. While the current may not be as powerful as to completely sweep you away, it is strong enough to make playing in the water enjoyable. For safety reasons, everyone is required to wear a life jacket. If you do get swept away by the current and are unable to hold onto anything, don't worry. There are riverside accommodations located at regular intervals along the way. However, it is always best to play safely and responsibly.

The slide descends rapidly, sending a thrilling shiver down to the ankles. A satisfying splash marks the arrival in the cool, refreshing water. A friendly reminder: holding your breath is recommended to avoid an unpleasant nasal experience.

Let's take a look at the atmosphere of the accommodation. To be honest, I'm not promoting it, but I really like it. If you like this style, check it out!

A pavilion by the river, where you can sit and eat snacks, enjoy the view, and feel the breeze. No matter how late it is, it doesn't feel scary. And most importantly, there are no mosquitoes at all. It might be because the water is constantly flowing.

The bedroom comfortably accommodated our group of seven and our dog. The beds were simple in design, but the pillows and mattresses were incredibly soft. The blankets were also plush and odor-free. Overall, the sleeping arrangements were excellent.

Capturing the ambiance surrounding the accommodation.

The lady inhaled deeply.

The pavilion has multiple layers, and there is another pavilion by the water's edge at the bottom.

Whitewater Rafting Adventure

We embarked on a thrilling whitewater rafting adventure, arranging the trip directly through our accommodation. A friendly staff member picked us up at our doorstep and transported us to the starting point. After a brief 15-minute wait, we donned life jackets and boarded the raft. A short drive later, we arrived at the launch site, ready to navigate an 8-kilometer stretch of rapids.

The experience involved self-paddling, with one guide steering the raft. We assisted the guide in navigating the challenging currents, adding to the excitement. After approximately 3 kilometers, we had the opportunity to jump into the refreshing water, leaving our phones behind to capture the moment.

After whitewater rafting, we continued to Viroj Kaeng Krachan for lunch. The food was simple and unpretentious, but the flavors were delicious and well-balanced.

The interior features a large table, creating a natural atmosphere. The highlight is the breathtaking scenery in front.

The view was breathtaking, and it was more satisfying than eating. After that, we returned to our accommodation and continued to enjoy snacks at the pavilion.

The next day, we moved to the luxurious Harmony resort with a water park. The rooms were beautiful and well-built, but we preferred the simplicity and atmosphere of Jiraporn. The owner's friendliness was also a factor. Harmony was a bit crowded, probably because of the water park, which was open to paying visitors.

After breakfast, we headed to the Kaeng Krachan Dam for some stunning views.

The weather was pleasant on the day of the visit, with sunshine and a gentle breeze. The crowd was smaller than expected, possibly due to the festival.

On our way back to Bangkok, we searched for another restaurant and found one based on reviews: "Dang Seafood" in Samut Sakhon.

The food was delicious and affordable, with fast service. I will review it again in another post. Thank you to everyone who has followed me this far. Finally, I wish you all a safe and enjoyable journey.

To miss visiting Thailand is a great pity.
