Greetings, I'd like to share a travelogue about exploring Phetchaburi town and relaxing in Hua Hin. This leisurely trip focused on relaxation, starting from Bangkok with a coffee break at Porto Chino before heading to Phetchaburi town.
Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park (Khao Wang)
Perched atop a 92-meter-high hill, the palace was commissioned by King Rama IV as a summer residence. The hilltop boasts a royal pavilion, temples, and an eclectic mix of Western and Chinese architectural styles.
Khao Luang Cave
From Khao Wang, you can drive to Khao Luang Cave, a distance of about 5 kilometers. Wat Tham Khao Luang, or Tham Khao Luang, is a major tourist attraction in Phetchaburi Province. King Mongkut (Rama IV) once visited and was very impressed with Tham Khao Luang Cave, so he ordered the construction of a Buddha statue to be enshrined inside the cave. The highlight of Tham Khao Luang Cave is the beam of light that shines down from the ceiling of the cave from 9:30 am onwards. Unfortunately, I arrived too early and did not get to see this natural wonder.
You can drive to the entrance of the mountain and take a cable car down to the cave entrance. This is a local monkey at the parking lot.
Wat Yai Suwannaram, also known as Wat Yai
An Ancient Temple with Unique Features
This passage describes an ancient temple built during the Ayutthaya period. The temple boasts a large, traditional Thai-style pavilion (sala) that houses the main Buddha statue. Notably, the temple also features a unique structure: a library for storing Buddhist scriptures (Tripitaka) situated in the middle of a pond. This architectural feature is rarely seen in modern times.
Pad Thai Tha Yang (Branch 2, Phothi Karong Road), Phetchaburi
After exploring the area, we stopped by this restaurant for a delicious meal. Every dish was fantastic, but the highlight was definitely the Pad Thai. This unique version included liver and pork, unlike any Pad Thai I've had before. Beyond the Pad Thai, the menu offered a wide variety of options, including crispy dumplings, stir-fried chicken, Pad Thai, and Karen-style chili noodles. Don't forget to finish your meal with a sweet treat to cool down after a hot day.
Amari Hua Hin holds many fond memories for us, which is why we love staying here. We opted for the Deluxe Pool View room, offering stunning views of the pool. From our room, we could take a golf cart to the Shoreline Beach Club, located by the pool and Khao Takiab Beach. The atmosphere was simply amazing.
Imperial Hua Hin Beach Resort
Classic beachfront accommodation with stunning sea views. Choose a Sea View room and enjoy the ocean from the comfort of your bed. Breakfast and free shuttle service to Hua Hin Market are included. The property is also conveniently located within walking distance of SeenSpace Hua Hin. While not a 5-star hotel, the service is excellent, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.
Thank you for watching. See you in the next review. :)
