Here in Mae La Noi District, Mae Hong Son Province, continuing from the trip of merit and joy from the "1 Meal, 1 Book" project at Mae Jo School. Click to read at https://th.readme.me/p/1420 Then we looked for something to do next. During this green season, it's green and rainy, so we have to go to the rice fields. Our goal was Huai Hom Village, Ban Dong, and the Mae La Noi Royal Project.

Continuing from the previous episode, she fulfilled her beauty queen duties by cooking for children and donating various items. Her face radiates the satisfaction of doing good deeds, as you can see. ^_^

After helping to clean up the school, we left the school in the morning. We drove along Highway 108 (Chiang Mai - Mae Sariang) and stopped along the way. We saw a soybean field on the side of the road.

This gang is a bit more playful, giving you a short time to take pictures before they have to rush you back to the car.

Upon reaching Mae La Noi district, we stopped to buy provisions for our meal. We hurried to continue our journey before nightfall, as other tasks awaited us.

Mae La Noi Royal Project

Located in Huai Hom Subdistrict, Mae Hong Son, the Mae La Noi Royal Project is accessible via Highway 108. At the intersection opposite the Mae La Noi Post Office, take Rural Road 1266 for approximately 30 kilometers. The winding road ascends and descends the mountain, taking about an hour to reach the destination.

Before arriving, you will pass through Dong Village. Feel free to ask locals for directions, as the road conditions may appear challenging. Upon arrival, check in at your accommodation. We booked a room within the Royal Project for 800 baht per night.

In 1970, Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand visited the villagers of Ban Huai Hom for the first time and granted funds to those in need of rice, establishing the world's first Rice Bank. In 1978, His Majesty the King initiated the development of the area, prompting government agencies to collaborate on a plan for the development of hill tribe communities. In 1980, the Mae Lan Noi Royal Project Development Center was officially established, with Ban Dong serving as its headquarters.

After that, we went to Ban Huai Hom village, about 5 kilometers away, to find the origin of Starbucks coffee. When we arrived at the village entrance, ...

Follow me.

Nestled amidst the mountains, Ban Huai Hom is a village where the locals primarily engage in rice cultivation. The area is renowned for its original Arabica coffee, known for its robust flavor. Additionally, sheep farms have given rise to a secondary occupation of weaving fabrics from sheep wool and natural cotton. This simple lifestyle reflects the village's rustic charm.

At the tender age of 5, Augustus and his father have already embarked on countless adventures, exploring nearly 60 provinces. Their latest escapade involved a camping trip, where Augustus proved to be an exemplary traveler, adapting seamlessly to the local environment and interacting effortlessly with other children.

Unable to locate the sheep farm, we stumbled upon a house selling coffee. We engaged in conversation and sampled their coffee.

Taste and buy 100% Arabica coffee (original recipe) to take home. We also offer postal delivery. For inquiries, please call 089 555 3900 or 089 854 0914.

The next mission is to deliver donations to Du La Per School, which sounds like a French school and looks international. ^_^ It is another 7 kilometers away. As the teacher has contacted us for help in building a volleyball court, we went to explore in preparation for the volunteer camp next year. The road to the school is quite rough, so only pickup trucks or 4WD vehicles can pass.

The school donated learning materials and stationery to teachers to distribute to students. The teachers mentioned that the students here are good at volleyball, so they would like to support them and build a good sports field for them to practice and use as a school activity area. We will consider this and then prepare and find ways to raise funds for the construction.

After successfully delivering the goods, we returned to our accommodation at the Mae Lan Noi Royal Project. However, on the way, we encountered a breathtaking orange-pink sky. We couldn't resist stopping the car and running up the hill to capture the stunning view from various angles.

This is a belief-based phenomenon. If the sky is orange-red in the morning or after sunset, it is considered a bad omen to set sail, as it is a warning sign of an approaching storm and strong winds. However, if the sky is orange-red during twilight or sunset, it is believed that the weather will be good the next day. (Thai belief)

This photo was taken at sunset. The colors are natural and have not been edited.

It is heartwarming to witness such a sight. Nature has truly outdone itself.

The sun never sets, and we never go home. Haha, tonight we're having a grilled fish and pork party. We can't record it, but we're full and sleeping soundly.

Waking up early to a beautiful morning with fog. It rained last night. We switched cooking duties and went to take photos around the Royal Project. This morning, we had healthy clean food, eating fresh vegetables with salad dressing that we ordered from the Royal Project. I must say, it was incredibly fresh, crunchy, and delicious. We also had avocado with condensed milk and leftover grilled pork from this morning. ^^

In addition to agricultural products, the Mae La Noi Royal Project also offers woven fabrics and clothing made from these fabrics. If you like them, please support the villagers and help distribute income.

It's time to go home. From now on, it's a long way. If you're tired or sleepy, stop and take turns driving.

On the way back, I stopped to take a picture. I haven't gone far yet, so I'm taking a break. Haha.

The mountain is quite bare.

Emerge onto Highway 108 at Mae La Noi District. Take a moment to enjoy the scenic city view.

Unable to continue the journey to the city center due to time constraints. It is uncertain when we will arrive in Bangkok at this rate.

We stopped for lunch in Mae Sariang District, which was on our way. We arrived at 1 pm and found a papaya salad restaurant. We had to park because we were dizzy from the curves and needed something sour to eat. Since there weren't enough tables, they let us sit in a shophouse near the restaurant.

Along Highway 108, there is a pine forest called Bo Kaeo Garden, which is worth a visit for those who have never been there.

The charm remains the same, with the added bonus of taller pine trees. :)

The trip was filled with blessings, joy, delicious food, and beautiful sights. When we have the opportunity, time, and energy, we will do this every year. Volunteer work, charity work, and travel can be seamlessly combined to enhance the value of your journey. The value you deserve. Amen.... :)
