Ang Khang Royal Agricultural Station (Doi Ang Khang), the first Royal Project in Thailand.

**Angkhang Royal Agricultural Station – The First Research Station of the Royal Project**

**Doi Ang Khang Agricultural Station** was established in accordance with the royal initiative of His Majesty the King to research temperate crops to encourage hill tribe people to grow them as a substitute for opium and to stop deforestation. He appointed Mom Chao Phisadej Ratchani as the royal representative in the position of the Royal Project Foundation. It was used as a research station and experimental planting of various temperate crops to serve as an example for hill tribe people to grow these crops for their livelihood. Later, His Majesty the King bestowed the name **"Doi Ang Khang Royal Agricultural Station"**.
