I had plan to have one week trip to the North of Thailand which combine Nan-Chiang Rai-Chiang Mai and with some reason I had chance to talk with one of my close-friend Oa. And she was planning to travel to Nan a nice province in Thailand and because she cannot leave her work for one week so she decided to join only Nan. Besides of Oa she also invited one of her close-friend KookKai then we become 4 persons for this trip.
13th July
06.00am on 13th July was the time we left Bangkok. Because the distance from Bangkok to Nan should take around 8-10 hours including stop by wherever we want.
And first stop was for breakfast in Chainat province. But before breakfast we got some pomelo which is the famous seasonal fruit in this province.
Breakfast at Ja Wirach restaurant in Uthai Thani province, a simple breakfast but it was very good taste.
But after breakfast, Oa want to try a famous bakery so we got it for her.
And then we stopped again at one of the famous temples called Wat Prathat Tung Yang.
As Thai culture, we normally start trip by visiting temple to get blessing from the Buddha.
It was lunch time so after temple we continue for lunch. And the first lunch was at the restaurant name “Siew Er”.
I like this menu the most but overall food is good taste with reasonable prices. Besides of restaurant they also had small café in the same area.
Unfortunately, they did not open yet so we cannot order any drink but got good photos from their nice decoration.
We left restaurant and continue to Nan province and the first place we visit in Nan was a famous temple on the small mountain name “Phuket Temple”.
Yes, the name is same with Phuket island in the south of Thailand but this one is the name of temple in the north of Thailand.
The temple has a nice view of rice-field, sculpture of a man whispering to a woman. The original of this sculpture is a painting at the temple in Nan’s city center.
It was around 17.00hrs so we checked in at first small boutique home stay name “ HOMU VILLA”.
I chose this place as it is small but cozy and the location not too far from city but not too crowed as well.
The room is simple decoration and our room are on the first floor so we can walk to the swimming pool with stunning mountain view.
Dinner was at the local restaurant (but it is famous one).
We ordered few item and I tried deep fried fogs as it is signature menu of this restaurant. Taste is not bad.
After dinner we walk around 500 meters to local market as it was Saturday night so there is night market.
We picked some finger food and sit and the free space area to enjoy our snacks and beautiful local music.
After finished all snacks, dessert, drinks we return to our room.
14th July
I woke up at 06.00am as usual and enjoy morning view.
And not only me enjoy the view
Oa and KookKai also enjoyed to be my model.
Breakfast served to our room with boiled rice and American breakfast.
After breakfast, we check out and stop by at a nice café “Rong Bom Pua”. The café with a small museum and also old buildings.
I ordered iced Americano with passion fruit juice. It was good.
And I also ordered a red bean bread. The bread was so good. You can see from their face
During enjoy coffee, we also enjoyed taking photos around the café.
There was some restrict areas but it was not a problem.
We got many nice shots
We spent around one hour at that café then left for next station.
We drove up on the mountain the visit one of a famous village call “Sapan”. But on the way we stop by many places because it is rainy season.
So, everywhere look green and fresh and there are lots of good view points
I never think that small and simple umbrella will look very nice when they hold it under the mist.
We left the first view point and I got one small local hand made bag from there.
2nd stop was a café as well but this one is along the stream. And the name is “Lhong Khao”
They served coffee, drinks and bakery but no heavy meals.
It is a nice place as well.Oa ordered her drink and some bakery.
KookKai really enjoyed the view
And I enjoy taking photos for them
Actually, all of us enjoyed taking photo there because every corner are so beautiful.
There are some more customer arriving so we left to next station
If “Lhong Khao” represent a beautiful lady because of the long stream then “Yud Wela” (stop the time) can represent a handsome man.
The panoramic mountain’s view is amazing.
The green rice-field, green mountains, the cold style houses of local people.
It hard to believe this is the place in Thailand where many areas was changed to be city looks.
The good weather and the clear and bright of the sky show the wide area of the village.
KookKai ordered drink and some bakery to shared and we enjoyed their bakery.
Left the café and drove down from the mountain to another area call “Bo Klua” where we planed to stay overnight.
But before arrive to our home stay, we stopped at local restaurant for lunch.
And lunch today is very simple, but the taste is so good.
Oa tried noodle “Khao Soi” while I tried “Phad Kra Prao Mhoo Sub”. Both are very delicious.
We stop at another village “Bo Klua” to see how they made salt on the mountain and got some souvenir.
As well as some nice photos of 2 girls
Checked in at the home stay “Yod Doi Camping” There are only 3 cottage with very nice view.
The room is simple but clean.
The electricity was limited to use for mobile charging and fan (they do not have air-con) because they using solar cell.
We were enjoy taking some photos around the home stay while waiting for the sunset and dinner
Dinner time, and we had “Moo Kra Ta”. This is the most famous menu when you stay at home stay on the mountain in the north of Thailand
Everyone turned to be a chef and we all enjoyed dinner with this kind of the view
The sky after sunset was very beautiful
It was not clear sky night. So, we cannot see beautiful moon as expected.
There was no TV, internet was not good so we spent time talking until late night then sleep.
15th July
06.00am I woke up same time as always. And this is the view I saw from early morning
07.00am they served coffee and tea set
We were enjoy making coffee by ourselves
But for me, it was nice time for me to have hot tea with this view
Around 07.30am they served breakfast, simple breakfast but delicious
And all woke up, then the photos shooting time begins.
Today Oa and KookKai will leave and they have to fly back to Bangkok while I’m continue to Chiang Rai and Chian Mai for another 5 days.
Before leave the home stay we got some photos with a nice view of the morning again.
This home stay is on good location, peaceful in the night time and just few cars passing in the day time so it is good place to stay relax
Before we go back to Nan city to send Oa and KookKai to airport. We stopped by at a famous check in spot “The road no.3” The road with 3 continue curves.
It is very beautiful road
Everyone got nice shots
Then we left to the city
Before send Oa and KookKai to airport we stopped by at the most important temple in Nan “Wat Phrathat Chae Hang”.
Thai people believe that the people who born under the rabbit zodiac. We all are not that zodiac but it good to visit temple.
After visit temple, we had last meal together at local restaurant before separate.
The food is simple but the taste is amazing. And very cheap.
Oa and KookKai booked local truck to take them around Nan city, do massage and drop at airport for evening flight. Meanwhile, I continue to Chiang Rai.
In to the melodies of road trip, we can enjoy every minute along the way.
We left Bangkok at 05.00am of 13th July and reached to HOMU VILLA around 5pm but there were so many stops and we were enjoyed every stop on the way.
Before we separated, we had a plan to do road trip to the South of Thailand just waiting for the good time for all.
