Travel: Departed from Bangkok at 7:00 AM by private car, arriving in Nan at 4:00 PM.
Upon arrival, I checked into my pre-booked accommodation, "Ming Muang Mansion," conveniently located near Wat Phumin. The walk to the temple was effortless. The nightly rate was 500 baht for an air-conditioned room without breakfast. "P'Na," the mansion's owner, was courteous and welcoming. The room was clean and well-equipped with a TV and refrigerator. After checking in and storing my belongings, I embarked on a leisurely stroll to Wat Phumin.
Visit Wat Phumin
Pay respects to the sacred Buddha image and seek blessings from the city pillar shrine of Nan, asking for protection throughout the five-day journey.
Go see the murals.
The highlight of this place is the "Pu Man Ya Man" picture, which depicts a young Tai Lue couple whispering to each other.
The sentence is already in English and does not require translation.
Note: The temple closes at 6:00 PM.
Visit Kad Khwang Muang Nan Walking Street
Exiting the temple, you'll immediately encounter the walking street. The atmosphere here is fantastic. If you purchase food, free "khantoke" seating is available. You can enjoy your dinner leisurely on the "khantoke" as long as you like. If you visit Nan, be sure to experience this.
This carefully curated Khantoke set menu offers a taste of northern Thai culture for dinner. The best part? It only costs 130 baht!

The atmosphere of the breakfast was also very good.
After a satisfying breakfast, we packed our belongings, checked out, and drove into Bo Kluea District. Since we were already in Bo Kluea, we decided to bring some salt back as souvenirs. ...
The world's only rock salt mine
The image below depicts the origin of the name "Bo Kluea" district, which is a signature landmark of the area. It is a salt water well that flows down from the mountain. The elderly gentleman in the picture is scooping water from the well to store. Villagers who need water to boil into salt can collect it from this point.
The process we commonly observe is salt boiling. Regular table salt takes approximately 5-6 hours to boil, while fleur de sel requires 24-26 hours.
Once the salt is boiled, it is scooped and sold right at the salt boiling factory. Or, if you want to scoop the salt yourself, the uncles and aunts here will let you try scooping the salt yourself.
