Float House is a 4-star hotel with year-round reservations, primarily from Thai (60%) and international (40%) guests. The hotel is a floating platform anchored along the River Kwai Noi.

Float House is a hotel accessible by car, although the route may be inconvenient due to its complexity and distance. The most convenient option is to park your car at the Resotel pier and take the hotel's long-tail boat service. This pier serves Resotel, Float House, and Jungle Raft. The boat ride from the pier to the hotel takes approximately 10 minutes.

Upon arrival, guests are greeted by staff and offered a welcome drink while waiting to check in. The villa-style rooms are spacious, measuring 90 square meters. The rooms are well-equipped with amenities, including separate shower and bathroom areas. The balcony overlooking the water is generously sized and features seating and a swing for each villa.

Around 4 or 5 pm, it's time to jump into the water and let yourself drift with the current. After swimming around the hotel for 3 rounds, you'll be exhausted because you have to swim against the current to reach the raft anchored at the end of the hotel.

The Float House has only one dining room, located next to the reception. All guests and rooms must have dinner in this dining room. There is no choice. However, I have seen some rooms bring food from outside and eat on their balconies.

The restaurant offers a comfortable riverside setting with a cool breeze. However, there are a few mosquitoes, but the hotel provides mosquito repellent incense. For dinner, the hotel recommends pre-ordering your meal and specifying a time in advance, as the restaurant gets busy during mealtimes to avoid long waiting times.

The menu at Float House is not extensive, offering a selection of Thai and Western dishes, available as single plates or with rice. I opted for the latter, choosing dishes to share.

1. Spicy Stir-fried Wild Boar - 165 Baht

2. Shrimp fritters 155 baht

3. Tom Yum Goong 185 Baht

4. Grilled pork with jaew dipping sauce 165 baht. The pork is tender and delicious.

5. Tofu clear soup 165 baht

6. Turmeric-fried ruby fish 340 baht The fish is fried with a faint scent of turmeric, which may not be as strong as the turmeric-fried fish in the south, which has a strong turmeric scent, but it is still delicious.

7. Pork with lime (185 baht). The pork was very tender, but... many pieces were not cooked through, with the inside still red. It was as if I had ordered medium-rare beef.

8. Salted egg yolk stir-fried squid (165 baht) comes with 3 full salted egg yolks, which is a lot, but the taste is very bland.

9. Fresh Shrimp Pad Thai 155 Baht

10. Banana Split 135 THB

The overall taste of the dinner was quite average, with no particular dishes standing out. Some dishes were acceptable, while others had an unusual flavor. The average cost per person was around 300-400 baht, which is considered reasonable. However, if you order individual dishes, the cost could be significantly lower, as the prices are slightly high per dish. Two people could easily share 3 dishes. The prices include VAT, and the hotel does not charge any additional service fees.

The breakfast menu at Float House is a buffet, which is included in the room rate. Similar to most hotels, the breakfast menu is not as diverse as those offered in 4-star hotels due to the limited number of rooms (only 30). Therefore, the selection is not as extravagant. Personally, I am happy as long as there are scrambled eggs, omelets, and bacon. Overall, I prefer the breakfast to the dinner.

Advantages

1. A private hotel with a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a leisurely stay where you can take your time and enjoy all the hotel's facilities.

2. Standard-sized room for this rate

Disadvantages

1. In a closed hotel like this, it would be nice to provide free-flow drinks for guests. The hotel only provides four bottles of water. I have been to a hotel like this before, and they provided a full range of drinks in the room, including water, soft drinks, tea, coffee, and some even included alcoholic beverages.

This type of hotel is designed for relaxation and guests are not expected to leave the premises. Additionally, there are no nearby options for外出.

2. Mosquitoes and insects are abundant due to the dense vegetation behind the accommodation. Fortunately, the rooms are equipped with mosquito nets.

The air conditioner in my room is not cool.
