****

**Reasons:**

- **Exceptional value for money:** The quality of the accommodations and services provided far exceeds the price paid. In fact, the cost is comparable to that of a 3- or 4-star hotel in the United States or Western Europe.

- **Minor deductions:** While I would have liked to give a perfect score in all categories, I deducted a few points for the following reasons:

- The pillows were too soft.

- The staff was not yet proficient in the online booking system, leading to confusion during check-in.

- There were hotels closer to Red Square.

VACA VACA tells a story

In mid-2014, we had the opportunity to visit Moscow. Amidst concerns about the social conditions of Russia, a former communist country, we wondered about its safety for tourists, how we would communicate with locals, and a myriad of other questions.

Ultimately, we opted for a centrally located hotel, choosing one that seemed promising for added peace of mind during our trip. Upon arrival, however, we discovered that the accommodation far surpassed our expectations.

This image depicts a hotel as seen from within an alleyway at an intersection. To the left of the hotel (the slightly taller building) is a Russian government military office building. Beyond that building is a main road. If you turn right and walk down this road, you will reach the renowned Bolshoi Theatre within 5 minutes.

^ Thank you to https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g298484-d... for the above images of the Savoy Hotel. ^

This is a picture of the alley in front of the hotel, as seen on Google Maps. The building opposite the hotel is the Central Children's Store, which was recently completed after 2014. When we visited, it was still under construction, with a canvas image of the building, the same size as the real building, covering it. However, it is now open for business.

This is the front view of the hotel.

We had the opportunity to stay here twice: once when we arrived in Moscow and again when we returned from St. Petersburg. One of our rooms was the one with the letters SA.

This is a picture of the reception hall.

The scenery was breathtakingly beautiful, but unfortunately, the camera I brought had a low resolution and my photography skills are not the best, so the pictures I took are not as good as they could be. I still regret it to this day.

This is an image of a lobby.

Though not particularly large, the space is remarkably beautiful. It's typically quiet, with few guests, so we felt right at home. We laughed a lot. ^^

This is a selection of hotel services, including the Hermitage Lounge-bar and swimming pool.

After a slightly bumpy check-in process (likely due to the staff's unfamiliarity with the online booking system and the potential confusion caused by the combination of Russian and Thai English), we finally received our room key. This key, in the form of a card, served both to unlock the door and activate the room's electrical system.

The hotel's compact size ensures that the elevator is just a short walk from the reception area. Upon exiting the elevator, guests are greeted by an elegant sofa set and a luxurious hallway that invites exploration. The proximity of the elevator to the guest rooms and the inviting ambiance of the hallway create a convenient and welcoming experience.

My heart is pounding with anticipation, wondering how magnificent it will be. I can't wait to see!

Wait a minute!

The scene cuts to the Savoy Restaurant, where breakfast is served.

Although the Savoy Restaurant is located in the same building as the hotel, it has a separate entrance as it is also open to the public at certain times. (The restaurant itself is on the ground floor of the building at the corner of the alley.) As a result, hotel guests must access the restaurant through a special entrance on the second floor.

Since we had to use the stairs anyway, we decided to try walking down the red carpet from the floor where we were staying.

Wow! The stairs are also beautiful.

This is the entrance to the Savoy Restaurant for hotel guests. Upon entering, you will immediately see the food line.

The breakfast buffet offers a variety of Russian and European dishes, including sausages, ham, baked mushrooms, cornflakes, and various baked goods. While the abundance of dairy products and the somewhat bland and salty flavors might not appeal to everyone, most Thai people would find the selection ample and satisfying enough to keep them full throughout the day.

However, for us, the most significant highlight of the Savoy Restaurant was not the variety or taste of the food, but rather the atmosphere…

Indeed, the atmosphere here exudes a sense of regal grandeur, reminiscent of the opulent palaces we witnessed in Saint Petersburg, such as the Peterhof Palace and the Catherine Palace.

Wow! Feeling like an important person, like a prince or princess in a novel.

Alright!

Let's take a closer look at the most crucial aspect: the guest rooms.

We had the opportunity to stay in two rooms with slightly different decor.

Let's begin with the blue room and conclude with the green room (we call these rooms by these names because their colors are truly distinct, and we believe that doing so evokes the feeling of many palaces that often have simple names for their rooms, such as colors, animals, etc.).

The blue room features an entrance hall, door, doorknob, and wardrobe that are slightly more elaborately decorated than those found in typical hotels.

The bathroom is located next to the entrance door and opposite the wardrobe, a floor plan layout commonly found in hotels.

The wardrobe contains a safe, hangers, slippers, a shoehorn, a shoehorn, and laundry bags, as is standard in high-end hotels.

While the decoration at this point may seem simple and unremarkable, there is more to it than meets the eye...

However, when it comes to accommodation, the meticulous details are exquisite and magnificent.

The welcome message, along with our name, appears on both the television screen and the phone's display, making us feel truly special.

The furniture is in the Louis style, which is opulent and luxurious. It complements the interior design of the room, which features subtle Russian art elements. These elements include moldings, corner wall treatments, curtains, sheer fabrics, wall sconces, hanging chandeliers, and artwork. All of these elements are meticulously arranged to create a harmonious and elegant atmosphere.

At night, when the lights from the various lamps are turned on, the entire room appears soft and inviting. Whether you choose to work on the comfortable sofa or lie down on the cozy bed, you will feel completely at ease. This room provides guests with the ultimate relaxation and comfort, making their stay truly enjoyable.

Wow!! You really like it, you even cheer for it. Even the mini bar is fully equipped, oh my god!!!

The accommodation is amazing, but wait, there's more!

The bathroom is also a great place to relax... just as good as sleeping. I'm soaking in the jacuzzi right now!

A beautiful bathroom with hot water amidst the cold weather, could there be anything more enjoyable? ^^

This concludes the review of the blue room with this item.

It is...

(Answer below the picture)

It is a bidet.

What is it?

Time for knowledge!

The bidet, an innovation created in 17th-century France, was originally designed as a floor-standing urinal for women.

The bidet offers a diverse range of functionalities beyond its primary purpose. It serves as a hygienic alternative to toilet paper for both men and women, as Western cultures consider paper insufficient for thorough cleansing. Additionally, the bidet's adjustable temperature settings, offering both warm and cool water options, provide enhanced comfort compared to traditional bidet hoses commonly found in Thailand.

It is also said that this bidet can be used to wash feet, wash clothes, or even bathe children. Wow, it's really versatile!

The bidet is a personal hygiene device that is used to clean the genitals and anal area. It is typically used after using the toilet, and can be used with or without soap. Bidets are becoming increasingly popular in the United States, as people are becoming more aware of the benefits of using them.

The green room's floor plan and overall design are similar to the blue room, but there are some notable differences. For example, the artwork is different, and there is no bidet.

I must say, my trip to Russia was incredibly tiring!

Why are you tired?

The vastness of each location in the polar bear's territory makes traveling from one point to another an exhausting endeavor.

This exhaustion, however, was rewarded with an eye-opening understanding that the former communist country was more nuanced than previously imagined, in ways that could not have been anticipated (perhaps due to an overreliance on literature from the free world).

Traces of communist influence remain visible in some architectural elements, but they are merely subtle nuances within the broader tapestry of Russian architecture that permeates the cityscape. (Every corner offers a picturesque backdrop, no exaggeration here!)

After an exhilarating day of exploration, returning to a hotel as magnificent as a palace is a surreal and unforgettable experience. ^^
