For those who are captivated by the tantalizing aroma and sweet, fragrant flavor of mangoes, Thailand's renowned fruit, do not miss the opportunity to indulge in the delectable offerings of "Make Me Mango."
"Make Me Mango" is nestled in the historic district of Bangkok, "Tha Tian", opposite Wat Pho. The entrance to the alley is next to the Krung Thai Bank. Walk almost to the end of the alley and you will see a small, brightly lit white cafe on your right, waiting to welcome you.
Despite its modest size, the shop's single unit space is efficiently organized across three floors. The ground floor houses the order counter and a bar counter for solo diners.
The interior design adopts an "Industrial-Modern" style, featuring exposed steel structures from floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. The color scheme emphasizes white, black, wood, and a vibrant yellow, reminiscent of the color of mangoes.
The second floor offers cozy tables for couples and comfortable sofas for large groups or families.
The Top Floor: A Relaxing Paradise
The top floor boasts a highlight: a comfortable reclining chair, perfect for chilling out. To add to the experience, stylish bibs and hats are provided for those unforgettable social media snaps.
Upon arriving at the mango dessert shop, "ดินสอขอเขียน," I immediately ordered the signature dish, "Make Me Mango" (185 baht). This dish features a large, ripe mango served with mango ice cream, sticky rice, custard, and mango pudding. After drizzling coconut milk and sprinkling peanuts on top, the first bite was pure bliss. The sweet and fragrant mango paired perfectly with the sticky rice, creating a delightful culinary experience.
"Mix-Fruit Bingsu" (185 THB)
This refreshing dessert is perfect for the hot weather. It features finely shaved milk ice topped with vanilla ice cream, crunchy cornflakes, and a variety of fruits, including mango, kiwi, cantaloupe, and strawberries. The combination of creamy ice, sweet fruit, and crunchy flakes creates a delightful treat that is sure to cool you down.
And so, the delicious food journey of "ดินสอขอเขียน" has come to an end. Until next time, let's continue to eat and travel together! Thank you.
