After researching travel options to Betong for a day, we decided to experience the city for ourselves. What is it like, at the southernmost tip of Thailand?

I want to go alone, according to our travel plan. I will travel on Friday.

However, Jack's life never followed the plan.

In the dead of the night on Thursday, the phone rang. No, wait, the phone didn't ring because we had it on silent. 555

The other end of the line is Boy, the admin of the "I Travel Everywhere" and "Travel, What Are You Doing?" pages.

Boy: Let's go to Khao Sok. We leave tomorrow.

Jack: Yes.

An unexpected Saturday morning found me visiting my nephews, marking the beginning of an impromptu trip.

Before we continue our journey, I would like to leave you with my page. Please follow Jack's travel and photography adventures here: Little Traveler Page.

We traveled in two vans with 19 people. I only knew a few of them, but we all had a great time together.

Boy organizes hiking trips almost every week. If you're interested in hiking, follow his trips.

This 3-day, 2-night trip was insane. We packed so much into our itinerary that we were begging for mercy by the end.

A rough itinerary: Day one, explore Khao Sok National Park. Day two, ascend from the dam and capture images at Khao Thip Pitak, also known as Heart-Shaped Mountain.

We then drove to Phuket to drop off three friends who were returning to Bangkok. On the way, we stopped to take pictures at the Sarasin Bridge. Upon arriving in Phuket, ...

Awaiting to photograph airplanes at Nai Yang Beach, then returning to Phang Nga to climb Samet Nang Chee. On the third day, descend from Samet Nang Chee.

Embark on a boat trip through Phang Nga Bay, visiting Khao Tapu (James Bond Island) and Khao Phing Kan. After the boat trip, return to Bangkok, stopping at various points of interest along the way.

Visited Khao Lak and took pictures of the tsunami boat. What a worthwhile trip!

Let's start our review by visiting the Cheow Lan Dam, officially known as the Ratchaprapha Dam.

****Travel methods as far as we know

Take a bus to Surat Thani Bus Terminal (BKS). From there, take a songthaew (shared taxi) to the city center. In the city, you can find a van going from Surat Thani to Ban Ta Khun and Cheow Lan Dam.

The car will take you to the port. You can fly or take the train, but we are not sure how to transfer.

**A trip to Khao Laem National Park offers both one-day excursions and overnight stays at various floating resorts. Boat rentals are available on a per-trip basis.**

The nearest raft is Nang Phai Raft, which offers stunning views. However, we stayed at Kai Sorn Raft, which is much farther away.

The round-trip and overnight ferry prices vary depending on the distance traveled. There are options for 10 and 20 passengers.

Please show me the price. I'm following. The picture is before boarding the boat. Zoom in to see it. It's small.

For ferry reservations, please call 083-300-1730 or contact us directly at the event.

If only a few people go, it will be more economical to join Joy and the other group.

Now that we have the information, let's move on.

29.04.2560 Saturday morning, the van took us to the entrance of Cheow Lan Dam. We woke up and exclaimed in our hearts, "Wow, fog!"

I didn't expect to encounter such dense fog. The visibility is extremely low, and everything is obscured by a thick white blanket.

We stopped at the dam to use the restroom, wash our faces, and take in the scenery, but we still couldn't see anything.

As a laid-back photographer, I waited for the fog to clear, capturing three sets of images: one with dense white fog obscuring most details,

2. A slight glimpse of the view.

And the third type is seeing the view and having fog on the mountain peaks, it was worth the wait.

The fog began to dissipate, revealing the stunning view of the dam.

Oh, my heart is swelling just standing on the edge of the dam. This dam is so beautiful! I think I'm in love with you.

Beauty lies in the lens, clarity lies in you. Thank you for the photo from the vulgar photographer.

This place is so beautiful, we can't stop taking pictures!

Thank you for the beautiful photos of Pro Nat in her flowing dress.

Everyone was starting to get hungry, so we had breakfast at a restaurant by the dam. After we were full, we bought snacks to eat on the raft. Then, we headed to the pier.

Park stamp, collected another one.

The price of the boat, please.

The scenery along the way was breathtaking, so I took pictures all the way.

We sailed for a long time, so long that someone fell asleep. Who else could it be but Ton?

As our raft is far away, we are staying at the Pak Graisorn raft. It's right in front of us. We've arrived.

Our home offers comfortable accommodations for 3-4 guests at a rate of 900 baht per night. We provide three delicious meals daily and complimentary use of our paddle boats, conveniently docked right in front of our house for your enjoyment at any time.

Electricity is available here. You can charge your battery.

We will gather in the dining room to charge our devices, as there are no electrical outlets in the bedrooms. The lights will be turned off around 10-11 pm.

The absence of a phone signal here allows for more self-reflection and interaction with those around us, rather than being glued to our phone screens.

Thank you for the picture from Pro Nut. What a vibrant color!

No phone signal, no air conditioning, no refrigerator, television, or fan. What can you do?

Sit, chat, play in the water, take pictures, paddle a boat, drink.

Exhausted, I sleep. Weakened, I yield.

Waking up to play in the water again. There's not much to do, but it's never boring.

Thank you for the beautiful picture from Pro Nat.

In the late afternoon, we went out for another paddle and encountered a tree in the middle of the path.

Driven by our boundless energy, we paddled to conquer a small island.

My arms are aching! It was so far away. I paddled there and back, for what? Haha.

On the way back, we couldn't paddle anymore, so Navigator Ton helped us tow the boat. We met Brother Boy's boat, Brother Ae's boat, and Natty's boat.

The showman, Khun Krai, pulls another boat. Oh my, Khun Krai, how good are you at rowing?

In the evening, the boatman took us on a boat ride to observe wildlife.

I saw a wild ox or a wild gaur, something like that. I can't remember what kind it was, but I was using a wide zoom lens and couldn't get close enough to take a picture.

From the morning boat ride, the dam is enormous. I wonder how much forest and wildlife have been swallowed up.

Instead of photographing animals, turn to photographing landscapes, models, and fashion models.

Witnessing the day's final glimmer.

Thank you for the photo, ProNut. I just arrived at the camp as it got dark. It's dinner time, and I'm starving.

After dinner, the group gathered around as usual.

The photo was taken at dusk before the hunt for the white elephant. In the end, the fog only obscured the elephant faintly, so I didn't include the photo.

It feels like I haven't slept. The weather is hot, and I can't fall asleep. I woke up early to wait for the sunrise and the mist. We can watch the sunrise from our room.

The water stopped flowing in the morning, but no one seemed to care. People just showered in front of their rooms. Thanks to ProNut for the photo.

The sun rises and it's already scorching. The warm morning light is probably gone. Our world is in a critical state. After capturing photos until late morning, it's time to pack up, have breakfast, and continue our journey.

Just a little more, it's not over yet. Jack has some views along the way and Kweilin, Thailand to share. The view along the way is amazing, super beautiful. The mist teases the mountain tops. Oh, I love it.

We lost to him, lost to the fog. Seeing it, we screamed. The angles without fog were also very beautiful.

Please insert images in a rapid succession.

May I take a photo of your shirt?

The boat took us to a stopover for taking pictures at Pa Nang Phai. This floating raft offers stunning views.

Leaving Pa Nang Prai, we continue to Guilin of Thailand, or Khao Sam Kleron.

Ice cream is also available for 40 baht per scoop.

The art exhibition is in full swing.

The boat stopped for a while to allow for photos. After visiting Khao Sam Kler, we returned to the shore.

Thank you for the picture, Boy.

It's time to say goodbye to Chiew Lan, a place that will leave you wanting more. If you enjoy the slow life, Chiew Lan is the perfect destination for you.

Thank you, Boy, for organizing this wonderful trip. And most importantly, all the fellow travelers were so lovely. Let's join another trip together again.

Experience cannot be bought, it must be earned through travel.

Journey Memories

In addition, you can visit Khao Ruap Jao (Heart-Shaped Mountain) or Khao Thep Pitak, which are not far from Chiew Lan Lake. These are great spots to take photos.
