Visit a Traditional Thai House in the Heart of the City

Jim Thompson (House & Museum)

The Jim Thompson House is the former home of James H.W. Thompson, the American businessman who founded the world-renowned Jim Thompson Thai Silk Company. In 1967, Thompson mysteriously disappeared while on a trip to Malaysia. His former residence has since been converted into a museum that is a popular tourist destination in Bangkok.

  • Open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
  • Admission fee: 150 baht for adults, 50 baht for students (with valid ID).
  • Guided tours are available in Thai, English, French, and Japanese.
  • To get there, take the BTS Skytrain to National Stadium Station (W1, Silom Line) and use Exit 1. Walk into Soi Kasemsan 2 on Rama I Road. The Jim Thompson House is located at the end of the soi on the left-hand side.
