Often, we just want to relax, unwind, and escape. But when we're limited to weekends, things don't always go as planned. The crowds can be overwhelming, making it difficult to take photos or enjoy a meal without long waits.

This time, we, the travel enthusiasts, made a big decision to submit our vacation leave applications. This time, we will be traveling on weekdays to enjoy a more relaxed trip with fewer crowds. Our destination for this trip is Chanthaburi. During our previous trip to Koh Chang, we had the opportunity to stop by Chanthaburi and realized that there are many interesting places to explore. This time, we are returning to discover more of Chanthaburi's tourist attractions.

To enhance the relaxation of this trip, the essential element is a chill place to stay. Ultimately, we opted for Sand Dunes Chaolao Beach Resort, a lifestyle resort by the sea. Situated on Chaolao Beach, renowned for its stunning sunsets in Chanthaburi province, this resort boasts an array of amenities, including a large outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center, and a children's zone, making it ideal for friends, couples, or families seeking a relaxing getaway. If you're searching for accommodation in this area, don't miss out on this gem.

Expenses (split among 4 people):

  • Private car travel - 640 baht (My car runs on gas, this trip covered 580 km including various attractions)
  • Roundtrip highway tolls - 120 baht
  • 2 dinners - 2,700 baht
  • Superior Room accommodation - 2,400x2 baht
  • Pink Stone Cliff entrance fee - 80 baht (20 baht per person)
  • Pliew Waterfall entrance fee - 160 baht (40 baht per person)
  • Other - 500 baht

We departed from Bangkok around 10:00 AM. We started by searching for the resort's location on Google Maps (goo.gl/maps/bNFJjpoHSMN2). We drove according to the GPS for approximately 200 kilometers, taking breaks along the way. The journey took 3-4 hours. We used the Burapha Withi Special Highway, heading towards Chonburi Province. We then drove towards Klaeng District in Rayong Province. We continued towards Chao Lao Beach. Upon reaching the Dugong Roundabout at Chao Lao Beach, we turned left and drove for approximately 5 minutes to reach the resort.

After arriving at the accommodation, we checked in, provided our names, and presented our ID cards for registration. The process was completed quickly and efficiently. We then proceeded to store our belongings in our room.

This trip, we booked two Superior Rooms.

These two rooms are connected, allowing for easy access between them.

Room amenities include air conditioning, cable TV, a refrigerator, a water heater, and WiFi. The WiFi password is located on the headboard.

The room is equipped with a tea and coffee set, as well as four bottles of drinking water.

A hairdryer is a must-have for women.

The sink is located outside the bathroom, with towels and hairdryers provided.

Let's take a look at the bathroom.

The bathroom has a clear separation between the dry and wet areas. Soap, shampoo, and tissue paper are provided.

The sentence is already in English and does not require translation.

The balcony of the room offers a breathtaking view of the mountains, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the fresh air.

Testing the strong WiFi connection, I took the opportunity to update my social media and show my friends the atmosphere here.^^

Since there is a tea set available, let's enjoy a cup of hot tea while taking in the relaxing view...

After exploring the rooms, it's time to change into our swimsuits and head to the pool.

This aerial view of the pool area shows Khao Chao Lao Beach on the left.

I think the design of the space is perfect and doesn't feel cramped at all.

The atmosphere is truly relaxing.

Relax...

Soaking in cool water with a sea view..

An aerial view of the round pool, which is designed for children.

On the left side, tourists can be seen cycling leisurely. There are bicycles available for rent to explore the surrounding area.

After a refreshing swim, our rumbling stomachs led us to a delightful restaurant right by the beach.

With a stunning view of the sunset and a relaxing atmosphere, we savored delicious food that truly tantalized our taste buds.

Pool Access Rooms offer direct access to a swimming pool located behind the room.

For breakfast buffet, I have captured some pictures for you to see. I must say that there is a wide variety of food to choose from.

Rice berry restaurant is open from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

This is my favorite.

After breakfast, we checked out of our accommodation around 10 am to continue our trip.

Our first stop was the Pink Rock Field, which was only a 10-minute drive from our accommodation.

The entrance fee to the Pink Rock Field was 20 baht per person. I was a bit disappointed that we had to walk a bit further to see the pink rocks in their full glory. I guess we'll have to come back again next time! 555+

Next, stop for a photo on the Taksin Maharat Bridge.

Next stop: "Red Building"

Next stop: "Chicken coop jail"

After exploring the accommodation area, we headed straight to "Pliew Waterfall".

It is a large and beautiful waterfall with water all year round.

Within the waterfall and stream, there are many species of large and small fish.

And there is the "stone carp", the star of the show, which is a sight to behold for tourists.

A large school of "stone-sucking fish".

The final stop of this trip is the Nang Phaya Viewpoint.

The last picture of this trip. We started our journey back to Bangkok around 8:30 PM.

For those seeking a relaxing getaway, I highly recommend Sand Dunes Chaolao Beach Resort.
