"Chachoengsao" is a province located just a short distance from Bangkok. By car, it takes only a little over an hour to arrive. Alternatively, one can opt for a van, which takes about 1.5 hours. For this trip, "ดินสอขอเขียน" chose to travel by train, which took a total of 2 hours. However, these 2 hours allowed us to enjoy the ever-changing scenery outside the train window. From the tall buildings of the city, once the train departs from Bangkok, we are greeted by vast green rice fields that stretch as far as the eye can see, a sight rarely encountered by city dwellers.
For my trip to Chachoengsao, I chose to stay at "River Breeze" https://www.facebook.com/RiverBreeze.Chachoengsao/..., a small resort on the banks of the Bang Pakong River. Initially, I had booked the "Floral" room, but upon arrival, the owner generously upgraded us to the "Oriental" room, which included a living room and balcony, at no extra charge. This was an unexpected and delightful surprise.
The "Oriental" room is part of the main house. Upon entering, you will find a cozy seating area with plush sofas where you can relax, watch TV, or listen to music. The room also features a balcony offering stunning views of the Bang Pakong River, allowing you to breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the serene surroundings.
Adjacent to the living room is the bedroom, which features a bed, a sofa, a dressing table, and a bathroom. To be honest, this is the first trip where "ดินสอขอเขียน" has only used this room to sleep. The rest of the time was spent on the balcony and in the living room.
This accommodation boasts a waterfront house with panoramic views of the Bang Pakong River. However, there is only one room available, so be sure to book early if you want to enjoy the stunning scenery. "ดินสอขอเขียน" did not stay here, but only visited to take photos after the previous guests had checked out. This is arguably the best spot in the entire establishment. If you're looking for a place to relax and unwind, be sure to book well in advance.
This section only provides breakfast. For dinner, you can order food from the restaurant located within the Wat Saman Rattanaram temple. Simply browse the menu, select your desired dishes, and specify the time you wish to eat. When the time arrives, your meal will be served to your table. Today, "ดินสอขอเขียน" and her friends ordered grilled squid, steamed mussels, catfish tom yum, and salted egg som tam. All dishes were delicious and very affordable.
After a restful night's sleep, it was time to refuel before heading back to Bangkok. The breakfast spread was truly impressive, featuring a wide array of options including croissants, sausages, fried eggs, salad, and even spaghetti. Freshly squeezed guava juice and fruit completed the meal, making it a delicious and healthy way to start the day.
Looking for a quick getaway near Bangkok to recharge your batteries? Look no further than "River Breeze". You won't be disappointed.
