Khao Ngu Stone Park, Mueang District, Ratchaburi Province >> Don't request songs with "snakes" here. Don't believe it? Try opening it and see for yourself. A new landmark of Ratchaburi at Khao Ngu <<
Let's begin!
Khao Ngu Stone Park is located approximately 8 kilometers from Ratchaburi city center in Ko Plab Phla Subdistrict, Mueang District, Ratchaburi Province. It was once a major source of limestone quarrying in Thailand since the early Rattanakosin period due to the high quality of the limestone. However, both the government and the public recognized the deterioration of the landscape and scenic views, as well as the historical significance of Khao Ngu as an ancient religious site. As a result, the concession for limestone quarrying in this area was revoked. After the concession was revoked, Khao Ngu became an abandoned mine and fell into disrepair. The Ratchaburi Provincial Administration developed Khao Ngu into a public park and archaeological site. A large stone Buddha statue was created by laser etching onto the cliff face. Within Khao Ngu Stone Park, there are several archaeological sites, including Rishi Cave, Fa Tho Cave, and the Chinese-Cham Cave. Each cave is located close to each other, but requires a steep climb up stairs. The surrounding area is also home to a large population of monkeys.

These caves contain numerous carved Buddha statues, some of which are directly sculpted onto the cave walls. These statues date back to the Dvaravati period.
Be cautious of monkeys while driving within the park.
