Taipei Addiction Aquatic Development is a popular tourist destination known for its fresh sashimi, large seafood, and affordable prices. The market is air-conditioned, clean, and offers a variety of options for both purchasing and consuming seafood.

Getting there is easy. Just hail a taxi, which costs about the same as in our country, and tell the driver you want to go to Taibeiyushi. Alternatively, you can follow these coordinates: https://goo.gl/maps/y8BRxMMUaqE2

Let's continue.

Upon entering, visitors will be greeted by staff who will provide hand sanitizer. The air-conditioned fish market is remarkably clean and free of clutter. A wide variety of live seafood, including shrimp, shellfish, crabs, and fish, is available for selection. Customers can place orders for filleting and take-away. It is important to note that dining is not permitted in this zone; take-away is the only option.

Upon entering the inner zone, you will find a food court with designated seating areas. Alternatively, pre-packaged meals are available for purchase and consumption in the designated dining area. Notably, king crab legs are sold individually for 980 NTD (approximately 1.1 times the Thai baht), while brown crab is priced at 110 NTD per 100g.

Abalone is quite expensive. In Thailand, I only ate canned abalone, which costs only 360 NTD for a box of two.

For those who love to eat sushi or sashimi piece by piece, this is a standing sushi counter zone with chefs who will slice the raw fish fresh for you.

Let's explore the food zone, where pre-packaged meals are available for self-service. The food sets here are very affordable. Let's take a look at the prices. Starting with uni, or sea urchin roe, which is incredibly cheap here. They offer both small and large pieces. The one pictured is the small piece, which comes in a full box for only 907 NTD.

The sashimi set looks very affordable at only 370 NTD. The box is generously filled with fresh, raw fish. In fact, the price is even cheaper than in Japan.

The sushi set is packed with a variety of fresh fish, approximately 16 pieces, for only 440 NTD. It includes eel, uni, salmon roe, maguro, shrimp, sweet egg, and more.

Sweet shrimp. The shrimp here are truly very sweet. The price is 320 NTD for 3 pieces.

Scallops, or "hotate" in Japanese, cost 320 NTD for approximately 6 large, plump pieces.

Grilled Seafood Delights

Moving on to other options, this section features grilled seafood for those who prefer cooked fish. From left to right, the prices per piece are as follows:

  • Grilled Sweetfish: 150 NTD
  • Roasted Salmon Head: 240 NTD
  • Grilled Mackerel Fish: 220 NTD
  • Grilled Saucy Fish: 30 NTD
  • Grilled Scallop: 170 NTD per skewer

Below the seafood, you'll find a box of Japanese rice mixed with seaweed for 160 NTD.

The menu features pre-cooked and shelled shrimp and crab corners, as well as whole lemons with peel. Two cooked and shelled lobsters are priced at 1234 NTD, a giant crab leg at 1339 NTD, and a hairy crab at 657 NTD. It is understood that the prices are per weight, as each box has a different price.

The fruit section was also impressive, offering a wide variety of fruits similar to those found in Thailand. However, the sheer size of the fruits in Taiwan was truly astonishing, with pineapples and custard apples reaching enormous proportions.

The bar offers a wide selection of beverages, including sake, beer, Japanese liquor, and wine, which guests can choose from at their leisure.

Alternatively, if you prefer a fine wine or cocktail, there is a small wine bar with a bartender ready to mix your drink.

Must-try dessert! The puddings here are amazing. They come in green tea and black sesame flavors. I usually go for the green tea, but this time I tried the black sesame and it was incredibly soft and flavorful. It practically melts in your mouth. And for only 45 NTD a cup, it's a steal!

This creamy cheesecake is equally delicious. Don't miss out on these two desserts if you have the chance.

Please note that the restaurant also offers outdoor seating with seafood hotpot options. Additionally, please be advised that the establishment only accepts cash payments.
