Immerse yourself in nature's embrace, where you can wake up to the ethereal mist caressing your balcony. Experience the allure of "Rabeang Dao," the year's most sought-after retreat.

Accommodation costs only 500 baht per night per person. (We visited in 2015, and the price has now increased to 700 baht.)

The phrase "accommodation for hundreds, but a million-dollar view" is not an exaggeration at all when you stay here.

The view of the mountains in front is of Doi Luang Chiang Dao, Chiang Mai Province. It is a sharp and high mountain, overlapping in many layers. Especially in the morning, the sun rises from behind the mountain, the light gradually comes with the fog, hovering over the low mountain peaks below, which are valleys. No matter how you describe it, it is not as good as seeing it with your own eyes.

This accommodation is quite difficult to book due to the extreme difficulty in contacting them by phone.

Make persistent calls with diligence and patience.

However, even if you are lucky enough to get through, the rooms are often fully booked. It is recommended to have a backup plan, plan for multiple time slots, or try planning a trip on a weekday. The fewer people there are, the more peaceful it will be, and it is guaranteed to be worth the day off.

For those seeking a misty escape this winter, consider adding this destination to your list.

Enjoy a budget-friendly set menu served on the balcony of your home. The set menu is priced per person and includes two meals a day: breakfast and dinner.

Dense fog, thick rainbows, and cool air are some of the lucky things that I get to experience standing here at this moment.

The house is made of wood and is in decent condition. We slept under mosquito nets and listened to the sound of crickets. We woke up to the sound of roosters crowing. If you don't wake up under the house, it's a bit difficult to sleep in. Let's wake up and watch the fog.

The mist here arrives both before dusk and in the morning, allowing for a long and enjoyable experience.

The sun rose from behind the mountain, and it was hot right away. It had been up for a long time, and the mountain was very high.

Enjoy coffee and stunning mountain views at the popular Baan Rabeang Dao.

The steep and complex multi-peaked Doi Luang Chiang Dao.

The path leading to the accommodation, shrouded in low-lying mist.

The chili paste here is absolutely amazing. If you love it, you can buy it in jars to take home and enjoy. The omelet and clear soup are a perfect pairing.

The majority of the population here are engaged in rice farming.

Stop by to feed the elephants and enjoy an elephant ride. This is a great way to break up your journey before reaching your accommodation at Baan Rai Dao.

Entrance fee: Adults 60 baht, Children 30 baht

Ubiquitous rice paddy vistas line both sides of the road.

Here, rice farming is still done with the help of water buffaloes. It is common to see these animals walking or playing in the mud alongside the roads.

A cool, clear stream flows beside the road, inviting a relaxing journey.
