Witness the breathtaking views of Doi Luang Chiang Dao, where a sea of white mist floats close by.
Immerse yourself in the refreshing cool air and enjoy a comfortable night's sleep at "Manmok Chiang Dao Homestay."
Nestled amidst breathtaking scenery, "Na Lau Mai Village" or "Doi Luang Chiang Dao" has become a renowned tourist destination. Its proximity to Doi Luang Chiang Dao and the mesmerizing sea of mist that often engulfs the village make it an idyllic escape. During the rainy season, extending into the late winter months, the weather is particularly pleasant, ranging from comfortably cool to refreshingly cold. Homestay accommodations, meticulously maintained by the Forestry Department, offer a wide selection for visitors. The warm hospitality of the local Hmong people adds to the charm of the village, as they greet and interact with visitors with genuine smiles and friendly conversations.
Today, I would like to recommend another accommodation option that boasts truly breathtaking views: "Manmok Chiang Dao Homestay."
Camping is a great option for budget-conscious travelers. For only 500 baht per person, you can enjoy a spacious tent with comfortable bedding, ensuring a good night's sleep. Upon waking, you'll be greeted by the stunning sight of the mist flowing over Doi Luang Chiang Dao and a breathtaking sunrise. Meals are conveniently served to your tent, and there are tables for your comfort.
Dinner
A set meal with three dishes: tofu and minced pork soup for a hot and comforting broth, stir-fried crispy vegetables, fluffy omelet, and chili paste (lee-so or lee-su). A large pot of plain rice is provided, and anyone who wants more can ask for it. Each person also receives a bottle of water.
Breakfast
A steaming bowl of minced pork congee with soft rice, a delicate flavor, and a boiled egg for each person, accompanied by a cup of chili paste. Instant coffee and Ovaltine sachets are provided, along with a thermos of hot water. As you savor the hot congee, the view of Doi Luang Chiang Dao, shrouded in mist and bathed in the gentle morning sun, is simply breathtaking. It's an experience that will leave you feeling truly blissful.

As dusk approached, we arrived at our destination, "Man Mok Chiang Dao Homestay." Following the navigation pin, we drove straight up until we reached a shop. We parked our car there and began our descent on foot, following the path to the left. Cars were unable to proceed further due to the road conditions. The concrete road transitioned into a cracked dirt path, and locals advised against driving further. Therefore, we secured parking nearby.
The view is breathtaking, even in the late afternoon. The mist still lingers around the peak of Doi Luang Chiang Dao, and the air is refreshingly cool. It's moments like these that I cherish the most.
From the intersection, turn left and walk for about 100 meters. The entrance to the Man Mok Chiang Dao Waterfall will be on your right. The owner's house, Mingyi's house, will be on your left (not visible in the picture). Next to it is a large house, and the house on the right is a small house.
As you descend further, you will encounter a campsite adorned with vibrant flowers and lush greenery, offering breathtaking views of Doi Luang Chiang Dao. For those visiting between December and January, expect an even more spectacular floral display.

Next, let's take a short walk to a nearby area. Here, you'll find shops selling various drinks and snacks, so you won't go hungry. There are also signs advertising several restaurants selling "moo kata" (Thai BBQ). Prices may vary between restaurants, likely depending on the ingredients and portion sizes. Let's explore and see what we can find.
Dinner time has arrived! Mingyi will personally serve the food to the wooden table in front of the tent. There will be an umbrella on the table to protect you from the rain. If you would like to remove the umbrella, please let Mingyi know.
The food is delicious. If you're still hungry after your meal, feel free to ask for more. (Whisper: "The chili paste is amazing!") Even those who don't like spicy food can enjoy it. As for me, I love spicy food, and I think it's delicious.
It won't be long before it gets dark. During the evening, there will be lights to provide illumination, so there's no need to worry. However, if you prefer to sleep without lights, you can turn off the switch next to the table in front of your tent.
Sleeping soundly under warm blankets all night, when the morning light began to shine, it was time to open the tent door and greet Doi Luang Chiang Dao with the mist... "Good morning, Doi Luang Chiang Dao, the weather is cold, don't forget to take care of your health." ^___^
Capture the moving image of the atmosphere of the mist flowing gently in the morning.
Yesterday evening's atmosphere was already fantastic, but this morning's atmosphere is even better. Amazing!
Let's take a walk up to enjoy the atmosphere from a higher angle. It's amazing! We can see a sea of fog floating in front of Doi Luang. We sat and watched until we were mesmerized. We wanted to sit here for a long time. Even though the sun had already risen, the surrounding area was still covered in fog, making the air cool and comfortable.
At times, the mist would flow in large masses, obscuring the view of Doi Luang. Turning around, the mountain had vanished! ^^”
Other houses are also located in a misty atmosphere like this and have a view of Doi Luang Chiang Dao, but the perspective may be slightly different.
Let's continue with breakfast. Mingyi has prepared a feast for us early this morning. There's a full pot of minced pork congee, one boiled egg for each of us, and a cup of chili paste. We also have instant coffee and Ovaltine sachets, along with a thermos of hot water. As we eat, we can enjoy the beautiful view in front of us. It's truly a delightful experience.
As the morning progressed, the sun climbed higher in the sky, and the air grew warmer. It was time to continue our journey, but this place had already left an indelible mark on our hearts. We knew we would return.
