Chapter 10 Memory Hall in Taipei, "Taipei", Taiwan: A Day Trip to the Hall of Memories

After visiting Beitou Thermal Valley, we will head to Tamsui in the late afternoon to enjoy the sea breeze. Tamsui is only one station away from Beitou Station. In other words, it is the last station on the Tamsui Line of the Red MRT.

Upon exiting the station, you will be greeted by a refreshing breeze. The temperature was around 16 degrees Celsius when I visited, making it incredibly pleasant. The artist in the picture is a real person, believe it or not. At first glance, I thought it was a statue.

Looking back, I realized that Tamsui Station is incredibly large and stretches for a very long distance.

The vast sky, a distant perspective on a cloudy day. But it's not gloomy, oh no. Taking a walk, enjoying the fresh air and the view, the cool and comfortable weather. It's truly amazing!

Turning to the right, you will find a long row of commercial buildings selling food.

The left view offers a glimpse of a distant bridge, a truly breathtaking sight.

This place has a wide variety of food. Let me show you around and see what's available.

This photo was taken in Tamsui, where you can find Hongkong Egg. However, the main point of this photo is not the food. It's the person in the photo who looks like a rocker. It's unclear whether it's Kitty or the vendor.

As Tamsui is a coastal town in northern Taipei, seafood is a must-try. However, I did not have the chance to sample it, as I was already full from soaking in the atmosphere.

The deep-fried squid is a recommended dish for many visitors, but personally, I found it underwhelming. The taste was slightly salty, bland, chewy, and rancid. The batter was not very crispy, possibly due to the squid being pre-fried and left sitting for a while. There are many restaurants offering this dish, and while it may be a local recommendation, it did not impress me.

In the evening, I will take you to the walking street market next door. Here, you can find souvenirs, food, and general snacks.

This is a personal opinion about a candied fruit dish. The speaker enjoyed it in Kunming but found it mediocre or even unappetizing in another location. They acknowledge that taste preferences vary and ask others not to tease them for their opinion.

After walking for a while, I returned to Taipei Main Station and felt a bit hungry, so I stopped by for a box of sushi.

The sushi here is reasonably priced. I ate two boxes, haha. It was delicious, haha. Don't worry, my taste buds are normal, haha.

I returned to Ximending, but the sushi wasn't great. Before returning to the hotel, I walked past Ah-Chung Mee Sua. I was initially hesitant to try it because of the long queue, but the aroma was too tempting to resist. The ordering process was surprisingly fast despite the crowd.

This dish defies easy categorization, falling somewhere between stir-fried basil and gravy-laden noodles. Despite its ambiguous identity, it boasts a surprisingly delicious flavor. Enjoyed standing outside the shop, the dish's heat is sure to leave your lips tingling.

Before returning to the hotel, I remembered that my girlfriend wanted to buy perfume. So, I opened Google Maps and went to Moli, a store with both a good and bad reputation. We decided to take a chance and see what happened.

My boyfriend bought 4 bottles of CK fragrances: 2 CK1s, a CK be, and a CK Gold. One of the bottles didn't have a valid check code, but the prices were still incredibly low, comparable to those in Hong Kong.

On the way back, I came across an uncle selling Japanese taiyaki. They were incredibly large and filled to the brim with delicious fillings, so I couldn't resist buying three.

To be honest, it wasn't very delicious (my taste buds are really picky, haha, don't be mad). I really felt that way. The dough was hard, the red bean paste was grainy and there was too much of it. The cream filling was also not good, it was hard and sticky.

This is a famous Taiwanese cheesecake. It is cheap and very large. I tried it and it was quite delicious, but it wasn't amazing. However, it is still worth trying.

My review consists of approximately 8-9 episodes, divided into parts for each tourist attraction. Please stay tuned for the next episode. I will find time to review as soon as possible.
